Crypto commentator Zach Rector argues that XRP’s months-long malaise is nearing a turning point, contending that selling pressure has largely run its course and that a fresh wave of institutional demand is lining up on the other side of the ledger. “XRP sellers are exhausted,” Rector said in a video analysis published late on October 9, adding that “the downside action and the consolidation that we’ve seen over the past few months is coming to an end and the suits are now getting ready to sell it with slideshow presentations.” Reasons To Be Bullish On XRP Rector’s central thesis is that structurally constrained float and prospective exchange-traded products could catalyze a supply squeeze. He framed the timeline around a US government shutdown, asserting that approval activity would not resume until after a reopening: “ETFs are set to go live for XRP as soon as the government shutdown ends. No, I am not anticipating the SEC to approve the ETFs while the government is shut down.” He characterized the post-shutdown period as a potential “tidal wave of XRP, crypto, and other related ETFs,” while acknowledging that the precise sequencing depends on regulators returning to normal operations. Related Reading: XRP Could Retest Triangle Support At $2.72, Analyst Warns Pointing to what he sees as a template in other assets, Rector highlighted a recent trading episode he attributed to BlackRock’s Ethereum ETF. In his telling, “Jane Street… spark[ed] a massive momentum ignition selloff just in time for BlackRock’s ETF to buy the most Ether in 2 months,” with $437 million of inflows arriving on a day of heavy price weakness. “While they’re hitting the sell button, panicking… the investors at BlackRock are saying, ‘Thank you very much,’” he said. He extrapolated from this to XRP, claiming “the suits have the champagne on ice cuz they know that they’re about to go break records with the XRP ETFs.” Beyond the ETFs, Rector emphasized on-chain and DeFi dynamics that he believes reduce liquid supply. He cited activity around Flare’s FXRP mechanism, describing wallet flows and escrowed balances as visible on public ledgers: “So far, Flare has already locked up almost $60 million worth of XRP. That’s equivalent to about 20 million XRP.” Rector broadened his supply-tightening thesis to digital asset treasury (DAT) companies, asserting they had “already actually acquired 10% of the overall Ethereum supply” and were now “coming for XRP.” XRP Momentum Builds He also alluded to tokenization and payments initiatives he associates with Ripple and the XRP Ledger, asserting that “they really are going to tokenize on the XRP Ledger” and bring “flows of liquidity that are valued in the trillions of dollars” onto the network. As evidence of institutional momentum, he pointed to European and Middle Eastern developments. Citing a post from VanEck’s Matthew Sigel, he said “Luxembourg becomes the first EU sovereign wealth fund to buy Bitcoin with a 1% position via ETF,” and noted recent meetings between Ripple executives and Luxembourg’s finance minister. He also referenced Ripple’s expansion in the Middle East, including Bahrain, as reinforcing an institutional pipeline. Related Reading: XRP Bull Run Reloaded: Analyst Says Momentum Mirrors 2017’s Explosive Rally On market structure, Rector said the recent intraday push lower found support above a level he is monitoring. “I zoomed out… to when we last back tested $2.70 just to show you… support,” he said, noting a visit to “about 2.77… people are front running that $2.70 level… we’re up to $2.81.” For investors worried that a peak is already in, he pushed back: “Was that the end of the XRP bull run? Did I just miss the top at 3.66? Absolutely not… imagine thinking that now’s the time to sell when Wall Street’s about to start selling it for you.” Rector’s explicit forward targets were sweeping. He said newcomers could “still… triple it up at least by next year,” and that a “10x” remained plausible under his “$20 to $30 base case,” characterizing “double-digit XRP” as “easily done.” Throughout, he tied the outlook to a cluster of catalysts—“ETFs, digital asset treasury companies, and institutional adoption”—and to what he regards as a steady constriction of tradable float via DeFi lockups. “That’s what leads to a supply shock,” he said. “This party’s just getting started.” At press time, XRP traded at $2.815. XRP is showing signs of a powerful bullish resurgence as both price action and momentum indicators move in perfect harmony. Recent analysis reveals that the price and Relative Strength Index (RSI) are trending upward together, a strong signal of renewed investor confidence and sustained buying pressure. With this alignment fueling optimism, XRP is orchestrating a steady climb toward the key $4 level. XRP’s Strength Amplifies With Unified Uptrend EGRAG CRYPTO, in a recent update, revealed that XRP is showing strong bullish signs when viewed from a macro perspective, as both the price and the RSI are trending upward. This coordinated movement between price and momentum indicators suggests that the broader market sentiment around XRP is shifting decisively in favor of the bulls. Related Reading: Zach Rector Pits XRP Against The Rest Of The Market – Here Are The Results According to the update, XRP’s price trend is maintaining a steady upward trajectory with a slope of around 7, signaling consistent accumulation and market strength. This rise reflects a solid foundation of buyer support, indicating that the asset could be gearing up for a potential breakout. The persistence of this trend highlights that XRP’s bullish momentum is not merely short-lived but part of a developing long-term move. On the other hand, the RSI is climbing with an even steeper slope of about 9 to 10, confirming that momentum continues to build strongly. This synchronization between price and RSI movement adds further credibility to the bullish narrative, as it shows no sign of divergence that might warn of a reversal. Macro Outlook: XRP Displays Clear Upward Momentum EGRAG CRYPTO highlighted that the synchronized upward movement of both XRP’s price and the RSI confirms a strong bullish trend. According to the analysis, the consistent upward momentum reflects sustained buying activity, suggesting that XRP remains well-positioned for further gains. Related Reading: Analyst Urges All XRP Investors To Pay Attention To This Connection No One Has Made Before Furthermore, EGRAG CRYPTO pointed out that there is no divergence between the price and RSI, a factor that adds credibility to the ongoing uptrend. When both indicators move in unison, it signals that the market’s momentum is genuine and not showing signs of exhaustion. The lack of divergence suggests that the current rally is healthy and likely to continue without an immediate risk of reversal. In conclusion, the analyst described the overall setup as highly bullish for XRP. The continued harmony between price action and RSI suggests that upward momentum could persist, paving the way for a significant move higher. A decisive close above the $4 mark, he noted, would represent a key milestone for XRP’s long-term outlook, symbolizing a potential step closer to what the community refers to as “Valhalla.” Featured image from iStock, chart from Tradingview.com
The XRP price has been struggling to break through the $3 resistance level, which has proved to be a formidable barrier for the token over the past two months. However, recent news of Ripple’s expansion into the Kingdom of Bahrain has sparked renewed optimism among investors, fueling new bullish predictions for the altcoin. Ripple’s New Partnership With BFB On Thursday, Ripple announced a strategic partnership with Bahrain Fintech Bay (BFB), the largest fintech incubator in the Kingdom. This collaboration aims to enhance Bahrain’s digital assets ecosystem by supporting the development of proofs-of-concept and pilot projects relevant to the local fintech landscape. The partnership will also showcase various solutions in areas like blockchain technology, cross-border payments, stablecoins, and tokenization. Ripple and BFB plan to lead educational initiatives and participate in local events to foster innovation and build industry partnerships. Related Reading: $200 Million Rescue Plan: TRUMP Meme Coin Fights For Survival Reece Merrick, Ripple’s Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, expressed enthusiasm for working with BFB to establish a robust local blockchain industry and to offer Ripple’s digital assets custody solution and its stablecoin, RLUSD, to financial institutions in Bahrain. Suzy Al Zeerah, Chief Operating Officer at BFB, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the partnership’s potential to bridge global innovators with Bahrain’s local ecosystem and to drive fintech innovation in the region. 4 Anticipated Catalysts For The XRP Price Looking ahead, analysts from The Motley Fool have pointed out that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is expected to make a decision on the recent influx of XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) by October or November, which could significantly attract both retail and institutional investors. In July, Ripple applied for a US bank charter, a move that could also enhance the utility of XRP as a bridge currency. The analysts also highlighted the introduction of Ripple USD, which may appeal to international users looking to hedge against hyperinflation while lacking access to US dollars. Related Reading: Why The Bitcoin Price Might Never Drop Below $100,000 Again The anticipated rollout of sidechains to support Ethereum-based smart contracts on the XRP Ledger could also position Ripple as a more attractive option for developers. Speculation suggests that Ripple may make announcements regarding these sidechains at its upcoming Swell event in New York in early November. The Motley Fool’s analysts also believe the Federal Reserve’s (Fed) potential reduction of benchmark rates in 2025 and 2026 could catalyze a “crypto summer.” Such conditions might drive the XRP price upward, with eyes on the $4, which could mean a 42% rally in the coming months. When writing, the XRP price trades at approximately $2.81, resulting in a major gap of 23% between current trading prices and the altcoin’s all-time high set at $3.65. The Ripple XRP is quietly executing a mission of its own, transforming the global financial plumbing from the inside out. By moving beyond theory and into practical application, XRP technology is being adopted by banks, payment networks, and central institutions seeking faster and more efficient cross-border transfers. XRP As The Bridge Between Old And New Finance While most of the crypto world obsesses over price swings and short-term narratives, Ripple is quietly executing on something much larger: a structural rewrite of global finance. As Xfinancebul pointed out on X, XRP isn’t here to compete with other cryptocurrencies. It’s here to replace the old system that still underpins international payments today. Related Reading: XRP At $10K? Analyst Sees $800 Trillion Liquidity Boom Thunes and Ripple’s relationship is a prime example of this transformation in motion. Together, they connect over 130 countries and tap into more than 90% of the global foreign exchange (FX) markets, effectively stitching together a new global settlement network powered by XRP. Combined, these two powerhouses are actively unlocking real-time settlement, establishing vital liquidity corridors, and pushing enterprise-grade blockchain integration onto a global stage. Thus, the numbers are powering over $70 billion in annual payment volume, spanning multiple currencies. However, while most crypto communities have remained fixated on price charts and short-term gains, Ripple has engaged in collaboration. The firm is working directly with banks, navigating complex regulatory landscapes, and integrating with global networks to fix the speed, cost, and transparency that the SWIFT system has been struggling with. Xfinancebul highlighted that this profound utility validates everything XRP has always stood for. XRP is not just another token, but a foundation piece of digital finance that is now seeing adoption at an accelerating scale within the institutional level. The game truly changes when liquidity begins to flow seamlessly through XRP, instead of being bogged down by legacy rails. This isn’t just a minor improvement for payments, but a paradigm shift for the entire global financial ecosystem. Digital Asset That Refuses To Slow Down An analyst known as Ripple Track has also emphasized that XRP is engineered for speed, institutional trust, and a tool for future global financial transformation. Presently, that future is already starting to echo through the charts. XRP’s performance in the ongoing 2025 bull run has become one of the most discussed topics in crypto, as the token continues to challenge the dominance of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and BNB. In a recent video shared on the social media platform X, crypto commentator Zach Rector described what he called the inconvenient truth of this market cycle: XRP is currently outperforming most of the top 50 cryptocurrencies in percentage growth since the last US presidential election and from the depths of the previous bear market. Ethereum, BNB, And Bitcoin’s Performance Rector began his comparison by pointing to Ethereum’s recovery trajectory. According to Ethereum’s price chart, investors who bought Ethereum before the most recent US presidential election have seen returns of about 89%, while long-term holders who entered during the 2022 bear market lows and are yet to sell are currently sitting on 400% gains. Related Reading: XRP Price Completes 7-Year Double Bottom Amid Prep For Moonshot To $19 BNB, he said, has delivered slightly better results, with 109% returns for pre-election buyers and 527% for those who accumulated during the 2022 bear market lows. Turning to Bitcoin, Rector noted that even after breaking to multiple new all-time highs this cycle, its returns are modest compared to XRP. He pointed out that a Bitcoin purchase before the election would have yielded an 82% return, while those who entered around the bear market bottom and are yet to sell would have gained around 678% on their Bitcoin holdings. XRP Outperforming The Market It’s a fact that XRP’s price action this cycle is much better than its performance in the 2021 crypto market bull run, where its growth was hampered by the SEC-Ripple lawsuit. Therefore, Zach Rector’s main point focuses on XRP’s strength within the current market cycle. Related Reading: Bitcoin, XRP Testing Key Resistances And Could Turn Messy Again – Here’s Why He stated that if an investor had purchased XRP at $0.50 before the election, their position would now be up 500%. On the other hand, those who bought at the bear market bottom and are still holding would have seen an extraordinary 900% gain. As such, these numbers make XRP one of the most profitable assets among the major cryptocurrencies, outperforming Bitcoin, Ethereum, and BNB. In his words, “The inconvenient truth about the 2025 crypto bull run, and this is why people are so upset, is that XRP is still outperforming nearly all of the top 50 cryptos.” The statement quickly gained traction within the XRP community, as shown by the comments on his video posted on X. XRP price action in the past few days, however, has been majorly corrective. The price has been drifting lower toward a critical support level around $2.80, which is now an important level for bulls to defend. A breakdown below $2.8 could expose the next support at $2.72, while maintaining it could set the stage for another upward move. Even with this cooling phase, many XRP enthusiasts and analysts are optimistic. Many expect the token to break above $4 in the coming months, with some predicting that it could eventually enter double-digit territory once Spot XRP ETFs are launched in the US. Crypto chartist Dark Defender says XRP’s current monthly structure has flipped back to the same high-momentum regime that preceded its 2017–2018 vertical run, arguing that a fresh impulsive wave is underway after last year’s breakout. In a detailed thread accompanying a multi-year monthly chart, the analyst urged followers to segment XRP’s history into “Left – Middle – Right,” contrasting a 2017 impulsive setup, a 2021 corrective detour, and what he calls today’s renewed continuation phase. XRP Is Repeating 2017 On the left side of the chart, Dark Defender highlights the 2017 template: candles closing above prior highs, price holding above Ichimoku Cloud support, elevated Relative Strength Index, and monthly closes above a key exponential moving average. “XRP had an impulsive wave by the end of 2017. This caused the RSI spike with a huge momentum… Volume and the speed were high, so was Momentum,” he wrote, adding that the thrust concluded a “five-wave” advance before a multi-month triangle consolidation formed. The RSI, he noted, flattened but stayed above his smoothed baseline, which he interprets as a bullish continuation signal rather than exhaustion. Related Reading: These Are The XRP Price Targets You Need To Know Now: Cubic Analytics Founder The middle section—anchored around 2021—marks the counterpoint. Dark Defender characterizes this period as a corrective A-B structure, with an A-wave decline from the 2018 peak and a B-wave rally that topped at $1.96. Momentum signatures weakened, and the trend lost its structural supports. “First and foremost, the structure in 2021 was a CORRECTIVE STRUCTURE,” he wrote. “The price was below the Ichimoku Clouds, hence bearish… The Triangle did not have any candles above the orange resistance… The exponential moving average… was broken downside.” He also reminds readers that “the lawsuit was ongoing,” situating the pattern in a period of headline risk and depressed trend quality. The right-hand panel is where his thesis turns decisively bullish. Dark Defender says a “CRUCIAL BREAK” he flagged on November 10, 2024 preceded a lasting upside extension that, in his view, reestablished an impulsive regime. “We announced a CRUCIAL BREAK… that XRP was going to break the ATH. Yes, 1 day before the extensive break,” he wrote, linking back to his prior post. He argues that the subsequent advance delivered the necessary checklist for trend validation: monthly Heikin Ashi closes above previous highs, price reclaiming and holding above the Ichimoku Cloud, a series of closes above the red EMA baseline, and a resurgent RSI profile that he explicitly compares to the 2017 impulse. “The IMPULSIVE WAVE structure has not yet been finalised,” he added, cautioning that a February 2025 pullback was corrective within a larger advance rather than the end of the move. Technically, the thread’s comparative anatomy hinges on consistent signals across timeframes and tools. In 2017 and again now, candles closed above resistance within triangle setups instead of failing at the boundary; price lived above Cloud support rather than beneath it; and the moving-average “red line” acted as dynamic support rather than resistance. Meanwhile, the RSI sequence that degraded in 2021—“medium strength… followed by the low strength”—has flipped back to what he calls a “similar high momentum like in 2017, but not in 2021.” In his summary, the 2017 segment was “entirely an impulsive 5 Wave structure,” 2021 was “Corrective and therefore Weak,” and 2024–2025 reflects a “NEW IMPULSIVE STRUCTURE” with continuation potential. Related Reading: $600 Million Worth Of XRP Tokens Are On The Move, Where Are They Headed? The analyst’s tone is unambiguously constructive. “Considering all the above facts, I remain bullish on XRP and the broader blockchain,” he wrote. “We are entering a new era… and I think the future of Ripple and XRP is bright, following the lodestar, Polaris.” He closes with a characteristic refrain to “think positively,” but the core of the argument rests on the checklist of trend-confirmation items now in place on the monthly chart. Whether XRP ultimately reproduces the magnitude of its 2017 move will depend on how long those signals persist—monthly closes, momentum sustainability above the Cloud, and respect for the EMA baseline—yet Dark Defender’s comparative framework is explicit: the market conditions that fostered XRP’s last explosive phase are, in his reading, back on the board. While the analyst refrained from naming an explicit price target in his latest post, he had outlined one earlier this month. In an October 2 post on X, Dark Defender wrote, “We were right on XRP. RSI weekly break, weekly trend break, targets are clear. Nothing can stop what’s coming,” sharing a projected $10.47 target as the culmination of XRP’s anticipated wave-5 structure. At press time, XRP traded at $2.80. Featured image created with DALL.E, chart from TradingView.com
XRP has been declining over the past few days, making a retest of this Descending Triangle’s lower boundary possible, according to an analyst. XRP Has Been Moving Inside A Descending Triangle Recently In a new post on X, analyst Ali Martinez has talked about where XRP may be heading next, based on a Descending Triangle. This technical analysis (TA) pattern forms when an asset’s price witnesses consolidation between two converging trendlines. The main feature of the pattern is that its lower trendline is parallel to the time-axis. This level acts as a support boundary, while the upper level, which is slopped downward, provides resistance to the price. Thus, as the asset trades inside a Descending Triangle, its range shrinks to a downside. Related Reading: Bitcoin & Altcoin OI Forming Same Warning Setup As Dec 2024, Analyst Says A break out of either of the trendlines can imply a continuation of trend in that direction. This means that a surge above the triangle can be a bullish signal, while a decline under it a bearish one. Like the Descending Triangle, there is also the Ascending Triangle in TA, which works similarly, except for the fact that the orientation of the trendlines is flipped; the upper line is the one parallel to the time-axis instead. Now, here is the chart shared by the analyst that shows the Descending Triangle that the 1-day price of XRP has been stuck inside for the last few months: As displayed in the above graph, XRP made a retest of the Descending Triangle’s upper trendline earlier in the month, but it was unable to break past the resistance. The coin has since been on the way down and has traveled roughly halfway through the distance between the trendlines. “It looks like XRP is heading for a retest of the triangle’s bottom at $2.72,” notes Martinez. From the current exchange rate of the asset, a fall to this target would imply a loss of almost 7%. From the chart, another development related to the cryptocurrency is also visible: its price is slowly inching toward the apex of the triangle. Generally, breakouts become more likely to occur the closer the asset gets to the end of the channel. This is because the range gets progressively tighter over the course of a triangle. Related Reading: Bitcoin Plummets To $120,600: This Could Be The Next Support Thus, the next retest of either trendline could be interesting, as it may pave the way to a breakout. It only remains to be seen, though, which level XRP will retest next. XRP Price At the time of writing, XRP is floating around $0.292, down 3% over the last seven days. The XRP community has been called to attention after a new analysis linked the cryptocurrency’s trajectory to a powerful market force that many have overlooked. A recent breakdown by crypto analyst Austin Hilton has spotlighted a direct connection between XRP and Bitcoin that could shape how investors position themselves ahead of what could be one of the most explosive altcoin runs in years. How Bitcoin’s Performance Could Dictate XRP’s Next Move Hilton shared a video analysis on X social media, discussing a simple yet powerful correlation that shows the Bitcoin price action tends to influence the direction of XRP. At the time of his analysis, XRP was trading around $3, posting a 1.65% increase, while the total crypto market capitalization stood at approximately $4.21 trillion, up by 1.3%. Related Reading: XRP Flips Green For First Time Since 2017, Pundit Predicts 500% Rally Within this massive market, Bitcoin alone accounted for approximately $2.45 trillion, which represents 58% of the entire cryptocurrency market cap. Hilton noted that this overwhelming dominance positions BTC as the central gravity point of the crypto ecosystem. According to him, when the Bitcoin price rises, XRP typically follows, and when it falls, XRP tends to move in the same direction. He stated that the reason lies in the market’s capital structure. Bitcoin remains the most recognizable digital asset, boasting the strongest institutional and retail liquidity. Its price movements influence how capital flows into other major cryptocurrencies, particularly XRP, which has consistently held the third-largest market capitalization position. Adding significant weight to Hilton’s analysis is the growing involvement of major financial institutions in the crypto market. Both JP Morgan and Citigroup recently made public forecasts, projecting that Bitcoin could rise to between $133,000 and over $200,000 by the end of the year. This represents a dramatic reversal from JP Morgan’s position a year ago, when its CEO, Jamie Dimon, dismissed BTC as a “ponzie scheme,” even as the bank was quietly investing in the cryptocurrency and its ETF. Hilton has stated that these institutional endorsements point to a potential historic bull run in the making. Additionally, because XRP is so tightly correlated with Bitcoin’s performance, a surge to $200,000 could ignite a strong upward momentum. Liquidity Flow To Push XRP Price Beyond $20 In his video analysis, Hilton emphasized that understanding liquidity flows in crypto is crucial for XRP holders. Bitcoin, as the dominant asset, attracts the bulk of new capital entering the market. Once that liquidity flows into BTC, it naturally shifts into other top assets, such as Ethereum and XRP. Related Reading: Analyst Warns That No Matter What Direction XRP Price Takes, The End Result Is Still The Same With ETH’s market cap at roughly $546 billion and XRP at $179 billion, Hilton notes that XRP sits in a prime position to benefit directly from this capital movement. As a result, if Bitcoin jumps to $200,000 in Q4, the analyst predicts that XRP could surge to $10-$20 or more by year-end. Featured image from Adobe Stock, chart from Tradingview.com
Crypto expert BarriC has shared a bold view about the future of the XRP price. He believes that it could rise to $1,000 or even higher if it reaches full global use by banks and financial institutions. BarriC says the world has never seen what happens when a digital asset is used on a massive scale by traditional finance. According to him, this level of use could set XRP apart from all other cryptocurrencies. XRP Price Poised For Historic Gains Amid Global Bank Adoption BarriC predicts that the XRP price has the potential to reach record-breaking levels once banks and financial firms worldwide begin to adopt the cryptocurrency on a daily basis. If banks move money through XRP on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, the amount of value flowing through the network could be substantial. BarriC believes this could be in the range of millions, billions, or even trillions of dollars over time. Related Reading: Pundit Predicts Potential XRP Price Rally From $3-$1,000 As It Replicates This Move From 2017-2018 He explains that no other cryptocurrency has reached this level of real-world use before, which makes XRP’s case very different from past market cycles. BarriC says that when global financial institutions begin using XRP for regular transactions, it will no longer behave like most digital assets. It could then become a key part of how money moves worldwide, and such growth could naturally lead to XRP prices that surpass what the market has seen before. BarriC’s analysis suggests that the real turning point could come from trust and utility in XRP. As more institutions rely on the network for fast and inexpensive transfers, confidence in the asset is likely to grow significantly. The demand would likely reduce selling pressure and increase the token’s value over time, which, according to BarriC, is when XRP could start to climb toward its predicted $1,000 mark. XRP Breaking The Traditional Cycle And Entering Uncharted Territory BarriC also believes that XRP will eventually diverge from Bitcoin’s typical four-year market cycle. He says XRP could move in its own direction once banks widely use it. In his view, the cryptocurrency would no longer need to follow Bitcoin’s ups and downs because it would have its own strong use case. This independence could allow the price to move much higher and stay stable even when other coins face downturns. Related Reading: Cardano Price To Hit $7.82 This Bull Run — Analyst Says It’s ‘On Track To Meet Targets’ He describes this possible phase as “uncharted territory” for XRP, as it would be the first time a cryptocurrency reaches that level of adoption and the network becomes a significant part of the global payment system. BarriC expects that once this shift happens, XRP could rise far beyond previous highs, possibly reaching $100, $1,000, or more. The overall analysis by BarriC paints a very hopeful picture for the XRP price. The digital asset may become one of the most valuable cryptocurrencies on the market if the $ 1,000 price prediction comes to fruition. The XRP community’s attention has been drawn to a $600 million transfer, which has sparked speculation about its potential impact on the altcoin’s price. The transfer notably originated from a Ripple wallet address, further fueling speculations that the crypto firm is dumping on retail investors. $600 Million in XRP Tokens Moved by Ripple Spark Speculation Whale Alert data shows that Ripple moved 200 million XRP ($610 million) from one of its wallets, sparking speculation that the crypto firm was looking to offload these coins. Moreover, the transfer comes as XRP struggles to hold above the psychological $3 level, suggesting that the altcoin may be facing significant selling pressure. Related Reading: Analyst Says XRP Price Target Of $27 Still Holds – ‘The Ride Has Just Begun’ However, further on-chain data shows that Ripple simply moved these XRP tokens to another of its wallet addresses, suggesting that this was a routine operation rather than a move to offload these coins. An X user, XRP Liquidity, also clarified that the transfer was made from the ‘Ripple 1’ address to ‘Ripple 50’, which the account stated is “queuing for ODL, ETPs, Trust, and other Investments.” Another X user, Marc, also noted that the Ripple 50 wallet primarily interacts with the Binance 11 wallet and holds tokenized treasuries, including Ondo Finance’s tokenized treasury fund (OUSG). The crypto firm mainly utilizes its XRP holdings to support its On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) service, facilitating cross-border transfers through its payment services. However, this latest transfer comes at a time when there is so much bearish sentiment among XRP community members. Popular community members, such as Crypto Bitlord, have consistently criticized Ripple and recently advised XRP holders to sell their tokens following Ripple’s CTO, David Schwartz’s, announcement that he was resigning. Amid XRP’s struggles, the altcoin has now dropped in the crypto rankings by market cap, losing the number 3 spot to BNB. A ‘Promising Buy Signal’ For XRP On-chain analytics platform Santiment has described the current FUD in the XRP community as a promising buy signal for the altcoin. The platform stated that the altcoin is seeing its highest level of retail FUD since the Trump tariffs were announced 6 months ago. According to Santiment, there have been more bearish comments than bullish for two out of the past three days. The platform claimed that this development is generally a promising buy signal, as markets move in the opposite direction of small trader expectations. As such, XRP could witness a significant price surge amid these bearish sentiments. The XRP ETFs could serve as one of the catalysts for this potential price surge, although a SEC decision is on hold until the U.S. government shutdown ends. Cubic Analytics founder Caleb Franzen says XRP is entering a decisive phase after months of compression, with the price structure implying a path toward the $6–$11 zone so long as the market defends what he calls the key risk line at $2.68. XRP Price Targets In a wide-ranging discussion on the Thinking Crypto podcast with host Tony Edward, Franzen stressed that his conclusions are grounded in “price, structure, and statistical signals” rather than narrative. “It’s the chart itself. It’s the structure itself,” he said. “So long as we stay above $2.68, we’re going much higher.” Franzen’s XRP view comes out of the same template he applies across digital assets: identify trend integrity, map the impulse-consolidation rhythm, and translate it into a ladder of Fibonacci extension targets on a logarithmic scale. In XRP’s case, he argues the market traced higher highs and then “tightened up” into a controlled series of lower highs—what he calls a classic volatility coil that “allows price to reset… for the next leg higher.” Related Reading: Social Media Turns Bearish On XRP: Is This A Buy Signal? He then anchors objective targets to that structure: using the most recent consolidation leg, he cites the 161.8% extension near roughly $4.40 and the 261.8% extension around $6. From the larger Q1 swing—Q1 highs to Q1 lows—he adds a second band of objectives at approximately $5.40 and $11.55. The message, in his words: “Those are the price targets that you have to be aware of if you’re holding and investing in XRP… so long as we stay above $2.68.” Risk management is central to how Franzen frames the trade. Rather than a maximalist forecast, he sets a clear invalidation level and treats it as a mechanical decision point. “If we fall below $2.68, you can get stopped out. You can reduce some of your exposure. You can slow down your DCA,” he said. “It’s okay to be wrong. It’s just not okay to stay wrong.” The Macro Angle Although the podcast also covered Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana, Franzen’s macro and cross-asset framework is meant to contextualize, not overshadow, the XRP setup. He repeatedly described himself as “time agnostic,” declining to pin outcomes to a specific month or quarter and insisting that the tape, not the calendar, dictates probability. “I’ve been sharing [cycle] targets since the middle of 2023,” he noted, adding that the prudent path is to keep raising targets within an uptrend while letting invalidation handle the rest. That stance is informed by what he characterizes as resilient, supportive macro conditions—good enough for risk assets to trend without demanding a weak US dollar as a crutch. He pointed to strong real activity data and improving earnings assumptions as evidence that risk appetite is not being forced; it’s developing naturally. Related Reading: XRP Ready For $9 Blast — ‘Break $3.10 And It’s Game Over,’ Says Analyst Among the specific markers he flagged: Q2 real GDP growth at 3.8% with expectations of roughly 3.9% for Q3; prime-age unemployment near historic lows at about 3.8%; labor force participation rising; and both real and nominal wage growth, with wages around 4.1% year over year. In credit, he underscored tight spreads and high-yield corporates printing multi-year highs—“and if we adjust them for the dividend yield, they’re trading at all-time highs”—a combination that, in his experience, does not occur when markets are bracing for imminent stress. “As we’re looking at the weight of the evidence here, everything is coming together,” he said. “Higher highs and higher lows, increasing risk appetite, decent macro conditions, the Fed is cutting interest rates… We have to continue to have an upward bias.” That macro lens matters for XRP, he argues, because it reinforces the primacy of structure over story. He criticized a common assumption that crypto rallies must coincide with a falling dollar, highlighting that the US Dollar Index (DXY) has been roughly flat since mid-April while Bitcoin—and, by extension, broader crypto beta—advanced materially. He also described a composite lens that prices Bitcoin against a basket of global currencies (effectively offsetting BTC/USD by DXY) and said that index is making fresh all-time highs too, reflecting “weak global fiat currencies, not necessarily just a weak dollar.” The implication for XRP: if the broader liquidity and risk backdrop continues to reward trend persistence, then the technical coil and extension ladder have a cleaner runway. In stark contrast to the broader resurgence in the cryptocurrency market, where many assets are approaching or exceeding record highs, the XRP price finds itself in a precarious position. The altcoin has consistently failed to breach its nearest resistance level at $3, resulting in a retracement to crucial support levels that are vital for preventing a significant correction and further declines. XRP Price Struggles As Bitcoin Hits New High While Bitcoin (BTC) recently celebrated a new all-time high above $126,000, Ethereum (ETH) is inching closer to its own record of $4,900, and Binance Coin (BNB) mirrors Bitcoin’s ascent with prices rising above $1,300, XRP has faced a nearly 4% drop. Related Reading: Is A $10,000 Ethereum Price Within Reach? Here’s What Experts Are Forecasting Next Market expert Lark Davis expressed his concern on social media site X (formerly Twitter), stating that the XRP price has been unable to find its footing, repeatedly getting pushed down in its attempts to break the descending resistance line. He emphasized that a successful break above the orange line just above the current trading price could open the door to a target of $4, which would mean a new all-time high for the XRP price. However, Davis cautioned that failure to achieve this could necessitate reliance on the 20-day exponential moving average (EMA) at $2.94. Currently, XRP is trading at $2.92, just below this critical level, further accentuating the lack of bullish momentum. A sustained drop below this point could lead to further declines toward nearby support levels, with $2.77 emerging as a significant threshold on the daily chart. The $2.60 mark also becomes increasingly important. Should this level be tested, it could prevent a major collapse toward $2.22, a pivotal consolidation point since June that preceded XRP’s surge to over $3.60 in July. On the contrary, if this support breaks, the $2 mark could be in jeopardy for the remainder of the year. Can Consolidation Lead To A Breakout? Despite these challenges, some analysts remain optimistic about the XRP price prospects. Egrag Crypto, a market analyst recognized for bullish forecasts on the altcoin, shared an encouraging outlook on social media. He highlighted the potential for an October breakout, based on mathematical projections and historical breakout percentages. Egrag pointed out that an ascending triangle typically breaks out around the 70-80% mark of its formation. According to his analysis, if the XRP price continues to consolidate within this triangle pattern between $2.6 and $3.6, traders can anticipate a breakout as it approaches 70% to 80% of its formation. Data shows users on social media are the most bearish toward XRP in six months, a potential setup for a contrarian move in the asset. XRP Positive/Negative Sentiment Has Plunged Recently According to data from analytics firm Santiment, social media FUD around XRP has seen a spike recently. The indicator of relevance here is the “Positive/Negative Sentiment,” which tells us about how the bullish and bearish sentiments related to the coin compare on the major social media platforms. The metric works by first going through posts/messages/threads on these platforms to separate those that contain mentions of the asset. It then puts them through a machine-learning model to divide between positive and negative comments. Finally, it takes the ratio between the counts of each category to find the net situation. Related Reading: Bitcoin Spot Volume Rebounds As Price Hits ATH, But Still Far Below Late-2024 Highs Now, here is the chart shared by Santiment that shows the trend in the Positive/Negative Sentiment for XRP over the past month: As displayed in the above graph, the XRP Positive/Negative Sentiment fell to a low of 0.74 a couple of days back, implying bearish comments were notably outpacing bullish ones. The metric followed up with some recovery, but it lasted only briefly as the latest value has again indicated a dominant negative sentiment, with the ratio standing at 0.86. This latest wave of FUD around the asset on social media is the strongest since six months ago, when Donald Trump’s tariffs shook the market. If history is anything to go by, though, the bearish sentiment among retail traders could actually turn out to be a positive for the cryptocurrency. Digital assets have often tended to move in a way that goes contrary to the expectations of the crowd. This means that when the investors are overly bearish, a bottom can become probable. Given that social media users have been fearful toward XRP for two out of the last three days, it’s possible that a contrarian signal could once again be brewing for it. It now remains to be seen how the asset’s trajectory will look in the coming days, and whether social media sentiment will play a part. As is visible in the chart shared by Martinez, XRP has potentially been stuck inside a Parallel Channel on the 4-hour timeframe during the last couple of months. The upper boundary of the channel lies at $3.15, which has proven to be a resistance barrier for the coin in this period. “A breakout here could trigger a rally to $3.60!” says the analyst. Crypto analyst Barri C believes the XRP price could soon undergo a significant market movement. He says the chart pattern now resembles almost precisely what it did years ago, before XRP experienced its most notable price surge. The analyst thinks the market is repeating the same setup that once sent XRP soaring, and this could push the price to much higher levels in the coming months as trading activity and excitement build again. Analyst Says XRP Price Market Structure Mirrors 2017 Setup Barri C said that the XRP market is repeating what it did in 2017 before its sharp rise. Back then, the token’s price went from about $0.006 to between $3 and $3.80 in less than a year. The analyst explained that XRP now appears to be forming a similar pattern again in 2025. Related Reading: Cardano Price To Hit $7.82 This Bull Run — Analyst Says It’s ‘On Track To Meet Targets’ The market is undergoing a period of quiet growth, where prices are holding strong and interest is slowly returning. Barri C believes these signals indicate that XRP may be establishing a new base for a bullish breakout. According to him, the overall structure of the market, including price trends and investor behavior, mirrors that earlier setup almost perfectly. The analyst notes that this repetition suggests another strong rally is on the horizon, as history often repeats itself because traders tend to react to similar signals and emotions each cycle. That is why he views this as a crucial moment for XRP holders who may be waiting for the next upward move. Barri C thinks the current phase is not random but part of a long-term pattern that could soon push XRP sharply higher. Once momentum builds, the XRP price rally could happen quickly and take many by surprise. Barri C Predicts Parabolic XRP Surge To Between $3 And $1,000 In his outlook, Barri C predicts that XRP could experience a parabolic rise in the coming months if the 2017-style pattern unfolds entirely, revealing several possible price outcomes. He said XRP could move from $3 to $100, then reach $300, and climb toward $750 or $1,000 if market conditions remain strong. Related Reading: Dogecoin Is Primed For A Higher Move To $0.4 Soon, It Just Needs To Hold This Level Barri C explained that these numbers follow the same type of percentage growth XRP achieved during its earlier bull run. The 2017 rally proved how quickly the XRP price could move when excitement and trading volume increase simultaneously. He believes that the same kind of energy could return now that the market is showing similar signals. The idea is that if XRP truly repeats its past behavior, another huge rise is possible. As the market heads into 2025 and 2026, Barri C says all eyes will be on whether XRP can once again repeat its historic move and reach new all-time highs. XRP’s price history and trajectory have always caused debates among cryptocurrency enthusiasts, especially when compared to Bitcoin’s growth. Bitcoin has soared more than sixfold in the past seven years, but XRP is still trading around $3.02, roughly the same level it was trading at in early 2018. This comparison recently resurfaced in a post by analyst Adam Livingston on the social media platform X, who pointed out that XRP’s lack of progress stands in stark contrast to Bitcoin’s 608% surge during the same period. In response, Digital Asset Investor, a well-known voice in the XRP community, explained that the stagnation isn’t a coincidence but the result of years of regulatory imbalance, one that is finally about to end. Regulatory Monopoly And The Bitcoin Advantage Digital Asset Investor’s post talked on what he described as regulatory capture, which gave Bitcoin a free pass from oversight while XRP was entangled in a five-year legal battle with the US SEC. According to the analyst, Bitcoin’s dominance in the crypto market was supported by a regulatory monopoly built on ambiguity surrounding its creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Related Reading: XRP Price Completes 7-Year Double Bottom Amid Prep For Moonshot To $19 The analyst pointed out that even though there exists a video of a Homeland Security agent claiming to have met with “the four Satoshis,” regulators acted as if Bitcoin’s origins were a mystery. This, according to him, allowed Bitcoin to grow unchecked while other cryptocurrencies, including XRP, faced crippling restrictions. XRP was effectively frozen out of much of the US crypto ecosystem when the SEC filed its lawsuit against Ripple in December 2020, accusing it of selling unregistered securities. Major exchanges in the US delisted it, and investors in the US did not have access to XRP. During this time, Bitcoin and Ethereum enjoyed regulatory clarity as non-securities and attracted institutional inflows and ETF developments that XRP could only watch from the sidelines. According to the analyst, this unequal treatment was not accidental but rather part of a regulatory agenda that kept XRP from participating fully in the crypto market’s growth phase. He noted that had XRP not been under legal attack, its price trajectory could have followed Bitcoin’s or even outpaced it due to its use case in cross-border settlements and real-world utility. Why Everything Is About To Change According to Digital Asset Investor, the tide is turning. He stated that upcoming legislation in the US is about to dismantle the regulatory monopoly that Bitcoin has long benefited from. New laws, particularly those addressing digital asset classification and market structure, are expected to create a level playing field for all cryptocurrencies, including XRP. “The regulatory level playing field that the Bitcoin Maxis have dreaded cometh,” he wrote. Crypto analyst Chart Nerd has declared that XRP is set to mirror its 2017 cycle, when the price recorded a parabolic rally. He further revealed how high the altcoin could reach, with a double-digit price on the cards. XRP Could Mirror 2017 Cycle And Eyes Rally To $27 Chart Nerd stated that XRP is gearing up for a 2017-style run and is unlikely to decline as low as $0.50. Instead, the analyst believes that the altcoin will hold the line above $2, which is the January 2018 candle close highs, and then record a parabolic rally to its Fibonacci extension targets at $8, $13, $15, and $27. Related Reading: XRP Flips Green For First Time Since 2017, Pundit Predicts 500% Rally Chart Nerd was responding to an analysis from Captain Toblerone, who had earlier stated that XRP would continue to bleed until it reached $0.50. He advised XRP holders that if they are still in profit, it is not too late to sell 50% of their holdings or more and keep the cash to buy other, cheaper altcoins. As part of his bullish outlook for XRP, Chart Nerd also noted that many of the altcoin’s largest returns have come from large Q4 rallies. He revealed that XRP recorded gains of 426%, 1,064%, and 240% in Q4 2014, 2017, and 2024, respectively. As such, there is the possibility that the altcoin could mount another run in this fourth quarter. The XRP ETFs are expected to launch this fourth quarter and could serve as a catalyst for higher prices for the altcoin, similar to the same impact that the Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs had on BTC and ETH, respectively. Crypto pundit UnknowDLT had also warned XRP holders not to sell their tokens in the next three months, noting that ISO 20022 global adoption is expected to occur by November 22, which could be positive for Ripple and XRP, by extension. A Rally To $21 Is Possible In an X post, crypto analyst Mikybull Crypto suggested that an XRP surge to $21 in this final massive rally was possible. However, he added that his conservative targets are between $6 and $10, although he noted that anything is possible in crypto. Notably, the analyst has in the past alluded to the 2017 cycle as one of the reasons why the altcoin could stage another parabolic rally. Related Reading: XRP Price Faces 25% Drawdown Risk, But This Technical Point Is Key Meanwhile, crypto analyst Egrag Crypto also believes that XRP could rally to double-digits. He noted that the altcoin recorded a 1,250% rally in 2017 and a 560% surge in 2021. In line with this, the analyst remarked that if history repeats itself, then the altcoin could rally to $33 or $17 based on the gains recorded in 2017 and 2021, respectively. At the time of writing, the XRP price is trading at around $2.96, down over 2% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap. Featured image from Adobe Stock, chart from Tradingview.com
XRP is pressing against a structurally important ceiling at roughly $3.10, and a clean breach could open the way to $9, according to crypto analyst The Great Mattsby (@matthughes13). In a video analysis published on October 5, the analyst anchors his outlook in multi-cycle Fibonacci extensions, Ichimoku trend support and long-term moving averages, arguing the market is staging an unusually strong basing pattern at historically elevated levels. XRP On The Verge Of A $9 Explosion At the core of Mattsby’s framework is a Fibonacci extension suite calibrated from the December 2013 top to the July 2014 bottom. He highlights the 2.272 extension—around $3.09986—as the decisive resistance that has repeatedly capped monthly closes. Related Reading: XRP On-Chain Activity Signals Imminent Sell-Off — What’s Happening? “XRP is still battling… this $3.10 zone. This is the 2.272 Fibonacci extension level… we’ve never seen a monthly candle close above that 309986,” he said, noting that the same extension grid “was the exact 2018 top,” while “extensions below the 1.272 was the bottom in April 2020.” On his read, the confluence lends credibility to the next extension target: “The next level is $9… So essentially, it’s only a matter of time.” Trend metrics, he argues, have supported the advance without breaking structure. On the monthly timeframe, XRP has “been maintaining and riding [the Ichimoku] conversion line as a support ever since it broke out in November of last year.” He identifies that conversion line near $2.63 and emphasizes that “it has never closed any kind of monthly candle below it.” Related Reading: ‘This Is the Time’—XRP Could Rally 400% As Key Signals Flash Green, Analyst Says On the weekly chart, he points to the 50-week simple moving average—now near $2.37—as still “catching up to price,” one of the few large-cap altcoin charts, in his view, that “has never even touched the 50-week moving average since it broke out.” That gap, he suggests, explains the rhythm of ongoing consolidation while preserving an underlying uptrend. XRP Has Never Done This Before The market structure, Mattsby contends, is constructive: a breakout, retest and series of higher highs and higher lows at elevated levels. On the highest-level view, he frames the price action as a regime shift from resistance to support across cycles. “This is the previous resistance zone… 2021 it was the top. 2017–2018 it was the top—not including the wicks. But now this box we are actually just flipping it to support, building a base on top of it,” he said. He called that flip “the most bullish thing ever on any chart,” adding, “This has never happened for XRP.” Mattsby repeatedly returns to the same trigger: a decisive monthly close through the $3.10 area. “We should be excited because once this $3.10 gets broken, it’s going to go higher, right? It’s going to go to probably $9, maybe even higher, maybe $13, maybe more,” he said. While he allows for “more weeks of consolidation” and even a liquidity sweep into the “$2.80s, $2.70s,” he argues those moves would be noise within a larger uptrend defined by compression against the $3.10 lid and the stair-step advance of trend supports. “It’s not if, it is when. Because this is a super bullish chart,” he said, urging viewers to “Watch $3.10… Once that breaks, the true excitement can begin.” In practice, the roadmap he lays out is simple: protect the long-term trend markers while the 50-week average closes the distance, keep monthly structure above the Ichimoku conversion line near $2.63, and respect the historical importance of the $3.10 extension. A monthly close through that level would, in his framework, confirm the next Fibonacci waypoint at $9. “One of these weeks we might be able to see a bullish engulfing candle just breaking through multiple levels and just continuing higher,” he said. Until then, he characterizes the price action as a high-level base “building… for almost a whole year,” an atypically strong setup for XRP across its multi-cycle history. At press time, XRP traded at $2.99. Featured image created with DALL.E, chart from TradingView.com
XRP has defended support at $2.90 and made several attempts to push above $3.10 over the past week. Although XRP bulls have managed to hold above $3, the cryptocurrency hasn’t really followed rallies witnessed by Bitcoin and Ethereum in the past 24 hours. Nonethless, XRP’s price action in the past few days has caused its price chart to print a new technical setup that has previously marked the beginning of significant rallies, and history might repeat itself again. Related Reading: Bitcoin Breaks $123,000 As Rising Open Interest Signals More Action Ahead Bullish XRP Technical Signal Reappears Technical analysis of XRP’s 3-day candlestick chart shows that the cryptocurrency is currently repeating a technical signal which has preceded rallies multiple times this cycle. This signal, which was first revealed on the social media platform X by crypto analyst Cryptoinsightsuk, holds importance, as it has preceeded three different price rallies already this cycle. Crypto analyst Cryptoinsightuk shared a post on X highlighting this development, noting that XRP just achieved a great 3-day candle close and a simultaneous bullish cross on the 3-day RSI, which is a setup that historically preceded explosive price movements. The RSI, which tracks momentum shifts in market sentiment, has just crossed above its signal line to form a bullish structure identical to those seen in November 2024, April 2025, and June 2025. Each of these past simultaneous 3-day candle closes and RSI crosses occurred shortly before major XRP rallies. The RSI crossover in November 2024 occurred right before the most remarkable XRP rally since 2017. Notably, this RSI breakout was followed by a sharp 500% price surge, and XRP’s price increased from around $0.5 to over $3 within the weeks that followed. The April 2025 signal similarly preceded another leg up. Although the resulting rally was smaller than the November 2024 rally, XRP went from around $1.9 to $2.7. Then came June 2025, when the same RSI and candle setup appeared for a third time after XRP closed its 3-day candlestick above $2.2. This one proved even more significant than April’s signal, and this eventually culminated in a new all-time high of $3.65. XRP 3D Price Chart. Source: Cryptoinsightuk on X Market Context And What Comes Next The patterns noted above are very important for XRP, and there’s no reason for it not to repeat the same rally. According to Cryptoinsightuk, the reappearance of this exact signal suggests that XRP might once again be gearing up for pop to the upside. Interestingly, the signal also sets a good precedent for the possible approval of Spot XRP ETF applications by the US SEC. Related Reading: XRP To $100? Bitcoin and XRP have both made strong attempts to reclaim resistance levels in recent days. Bitcoin has broken above the $120,000 price level. XRP, on the other hand, hasn’t found it as easy to establish a firm breakout, although it has pushed as high as $3.10 in the past 24 hours. Technical analysis points to possible short-term price gains if resistance levels holds, but it also outlines a scenario where both Bitcoin and XRP could face another round of declines in the coming week. Related Reading: Space Meets Crypto—Spacecoin Executes 1st Blockchain Transaction Beyond Earth XRP’s Struggle Against The Downtrend Technical analysis of XRP’s daily candlestick timeframe chart, which was posted on the social media platform X by a crypto analyst called Guy on the Earth, shows that XRP’s price action in the past 48 hours is pushing above a downtrend resistance, with the top of its consolidation rectangle at $3.12 now in focus. The analyst noted that the cryptocurrency narrowly missed this target during its latest surge, stalling at $3.10 before slipping back to $3. However, XRP has so far managed to retest and find support on the downtrend line, which suggests there is still a chance for continuation higher. However, the analyst noted that the rally could fade quickly, unless XRP can closes the week and hold above the $3.12. A drop back below $3.00 would invalidate the breakout attempt and reopen the possibility of a breakdown to the $2.72 support. The pink circle drawn on the chart below shows the risk of XRP falling back to retest the ascending trendline around $2.40 to $2.50 if $2.72 is broken. XRP Daily Price Chart: @guyontheearth Bitcoin, on the other hand, has been displaying stronger momentum. The breakout above $120,000 has been decisive, and this can be seen as a healthier technical structure compared to XRP. The Bitcoin dominance (BTC.D) is also pointing higher, meaning Bitcoin could continue leading the market regardless of whether the next move is up or down. A Big Weekend Ahead For Both Bitcoin And XRP The next few days will be important for both XRP and Bitcoin. The three-day candle closes within hours, and the weekly candle will confirm the broader direction soon after. For XRP, holding above the $3.00 downtrend retest is important to maintain bullish momentum. On the other hand, Bitcoin maintaining strength above $120,000 could confirm its breakout and establish new grounds for further rallies. Failure for Bitcoin to hold above $120,000, would likely usher in another bloody phase next week, with XRP at risk of dropping back toward $2.72 or even lower. The week’s close will determine whether this rally has legs or whether the correction scenario plays out instead. Crypto analyst Bobby revealed that the XRP price has completed a consolidation pattern, hinting at a potential parabolic rally for the altcoin soon. The analyst suggested that XRP’s price could rally to double digits once this rally occurs. XRP Price Eyes Rally To $19 As It Completes Double-Bottom Pattern In an X post, Bobby indicated that the XRP price has completed the macro double-bottom pattern, which it had spent over seven years building. The analyst’s accompanying chart showed that the altcoin is now gearing up for a rally to as high as $19 following the completion of this consolidation pattern. Related Reading: XRP Price Faces 25% Drawdown Risk, But This Technical Point Is Key Meanwhile, the analyst noted that the XRP price spent over nine months building support near the neckline of the massive W pattern. He added that the altcoin spent the same amount of time consolidating below the 1.618 Fibonacci extension of its latest macro swing high to swing low. Bobby indicated that the XRP price rally will begin once it breaks through $3.02 and gains monthly acceptance above that level. He expects this move to take XRP into the take-profit levels he has highlighted on several occasions. These levels include $4.7, $6.4, $7.4, and possibly $19, all of which mark new all-time highs (ATHs) for the altcoin. The analyst also predicts that the XRP ETFs could spark a rally to between $8 and $13 with possible wicks into the $20 range. These funds are expected to launch this month, depending on when the U.S. government shutdown ends. They provided a bullish outlook for XRP due to the amount of inflows that they could drive into the altcoin’s ecosystem. Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that Bobby had also earlier alluded to previous cycles as the reason XRP could rally to $13. Analyst Sounds Warning To Bulls Crypto analyst Egrag Crypto has warned XRP bulls that the XRP price needs to close above $3.13 to $3.20 on the 3-day chart to sustain the current bullish momentum. His warning followed XRP’s reclaim of the psychological $3 level, which he noted has wrecked the bears. However, the altcoin needs to close above this range, or the bulls are also in danger of getting wrecked. Related Reading: Analyst Says XRP Price Remains Bullish As This Level Holds Egrag Crypto stated that the XRP price could follow suit if Bitcoin and Ethereum get rejected on their current rallies. He added that the altcoin could head lower, which he believes might actually be better. He assured that the last impulsive move would be explosive and could lead to life-changing gains for the bulls. However, for now, he believes that XRP is simply ranging until it closes above $3.20. In line with the broader cryptocurrency market’s recent upswing, the XRP price has captured attention with one of its largest weekly candles of the year, soaring over 14% in the past week and pushing the altcoin just above the $3 mark. This performance positions XRP just 15% shy of its all-time high, making it one of the standout performers in the crypto space, trailing only Ethereum (ETH), Binance Coin (BNB), and Solana (SOL), which saw price increases of 16%, 23%, and 21%, respectively over the same time frame. XRP Price Analysis Back in July of this year, the XRP price reached its peak of $3.66, but subsequent market corrections saw the token drop to as low as $2.70. Since then, attempts to recover have faced challenges, particularly with a key resistance level at $3.10 that has thwarted upward movements since August. Related Reading: Ethereum Price Forecast: Expert Predicts Final Impulse Wave Targeting $18,000 This struggle has led to the formation of a falling wedge pattern on XRP’s daily chart, signaling a potential shift as selling pressure wanes and buying interest rises. Market expert Lark Davis recently shared his insights on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), suggesting that if the XRP price can maintain momentum, it could target around $4, indicating a potential rally of approximately 33%. However, this bullish outlook hinges on XRP’s ability to consolidate above the $3 threshold, which would serve as confirmation of a breakout from the bullish pattern and pave the way for further price recoveries. Will ETF Approvals Propel Prices Higher? Contrasting Davis’ optimistic view, market analyst Ali Martinez expressed skepticism, arguing that while a breakout may occur, it might only lead to a price target of $3.60, essentially retesting previous highs rather than achieving new records. Despite differing opinions, the general sentiment leans towards potential upside, bolstered by the anticipation of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that may soon gain approval from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for investing in XRP. XRP may be entering its most consequential window of the cycle, according to crypto analyst Cryptoinsightuk, who argues a cluster of momentum, liquidity, and structure signals now favors a powerful advance—potentially extending into triple-digit percentage gains if key levels fall in sequence. “This is the time,” he said in a video published today, adding that the three-day relative strength index (RSI) and cross-asset ratio charts are lining up in a way that historically preceded outsized upside for XRP. The analyst begins with a quick framing of Bitcoin, noting that the market sits at a psychologically charged inflection just below all-time highs. He characterizes this zone as the “best risk-reward area to take a short,” not as a trend call but as a hedge for portfolios given proximity to prior peaks and well-defined invalidation. “I’m bullish, but I am cautious at $106,000,” he reiterated, referring to a visible liquidity pocket that he continues to flag as a magnet for price probes. He emphasizes his stance has been consistent: fully exposed on spot, cautious on leverage near resistance, and mindful of how quickly sentiment can flip when price revisits extremes. XRP Price Could Rip 400% XRP is the focus. On lower time frames, he sees open interest rebuilding and liquidity clustering overhead—most notably around the $3.40–$3.45 region—with thinner, newer pools below near $2.66 and $2.55. In his read, this is typical when an upside move begins to organize: resting liquidity accumulates above recent highs while late shorts leave footprints below. Related Reading: XRP Price Crash To $2.33 Is Still Possible In This Scenario, Here’s Why On the daily, he identifies additional liquidity density around $2.11–$2.40, but stresses that the stack above is far larger, with a notable band between roughly $4.02 and $4.25 and intermediate reference points near $4.10. “The times when we’ve had big dense areas of liquidity like this… we run into that area, we struggled in it, and then boom—when we do break out higher, we’ve ripped,” he said. He points back to the earlier breakout from the $0.50s, where a similar pattern of layered overhead liquidity resolved into a multi-week melt-up. The near-term momentum tell, in his view, is the three-day RSI crossing up from below 50—something he says closes today and has historically mattered for XRP. He logged three recent instances. The first preceded the move from roughly $0.50 to $2.70, a run he pegs at approximately 400% from mid-range to peak. The second produced a smaller, but still notable, ~27% advance. The third, in late June, was followed by a ~68% climb. “The minimum push… was 27%,” he said, arguing that even a conservative replay would take XRP “just above this high that we’ve recently set,” while the upper bound of historical outcomes opens the door to far higher prints. “If we do madness… 470% would take us to $17 right now. Bring your emotions back in check,” he cautioned, underscoring that these are scenario brackets, not guarantees. Different Price Scenarios From there, he moves into structure. On the daily chart he sketches a still-valid five-wave advance, with the present upswing acting as wave three of a larger third. Using Fibonacci extensions anchored to the last impulsive leg, his 4.236 projection lands around the $6.50–$6.80 zone, with one read producing ~$6.79 and another shorter-range draw yielding about $4.78. Related Reading: Ex-Ripple Dev Explains Why XRP Is 10x The Value Of LINK He notes that prior extensions overshot by roughly 20%, which—if repeated—would imply a spike toward the “$8.20 region” before a sharper corrective reset and a subsequent fifth-wave push. To unlock those paths, he wants to see a series of higher-time-frame closes reclaiming major retracement thresholds: “A daily close above $3.20 would be great. If we start closing above $3.36–$3.43, we’re on for that $6.80 price target, especially if we can get the close above $3.65.” Market-wide context could help. XRP dominance has broken its range and is building what he calls a bull-flag pattern on the three-day. The last confirmed three-day RSI bullish cross in XRP dominance marked the start of major upside phases; another cross now would, in his words, be “the time. Meanwhile, Bitcoin dominance is flirting with a bearish rollover on the daily, complete with divergences near resistance. A renewed bleed in BTC dominance would mechanically free up relative performance for large-cap alts; in his ideal scenario, Bitcoin grinds higher toward or through the highs while XRP “just runs faster.” At press time, XRP traded at $3.0246. XRP has managed to break past the $3 mark in the past 24 hours, and this has given readers a glimpse of bullish momentum. However, this breakout is not yet confirmed, as the XRP price is yet to make a weekly close above this price level. The cryptocurrency is still trading within a descending channel on the weekly timeframe, and in this context, an interesting technical analysisof crypto outlines a bearish scenario of what could happen if XRP loses its current structure. Analyst Warns Of Bearish Breakdown To $1.9 There have been different bullish predictions and technical analyses for XRP in recent weeks. However, crypto analyst CoinsKid has raised concerns about what might happen if XRP fails to maintain its position above critical support levels. The analyst shared his outlook on the social media platform X, accompanied by a chart showing the potential downside scenario. Related Reading: Analyst Highlights 2 Scenarios That Sends XRP Price To $9.6 And $33 According to CoinsKid, XRP has been going sideways since December of last year, but is finding stability along the bull market support band (BMS). He described the current moment as the last bullish case for XRP, warning that a breakdown through the BMS could erase that bullish outlook entirely. In his words, “Lose the BMS and the bullish support at $1.90 and XRP could be in free fall.” Despite this, he noted that he still remains cautiously bullish for now, but the caution stems from the visible threat of losing these crucial levels. The weekly candlestick chart that accompanied his post illustrates the situation clearly. XRP is sitting inside a descending channel, and the last three weekly candlesticks have been red after XRP was rejected at the upper trendline of this channel in September. The bearish scenario is based on XRP extending this rejection and then falling to as low as the lower trendline of this descending channel, which is currently around $2.2. A break below this line would indicate that selling pressure has overtaken the support structure, likely setting up a deeper retracement. The next major support level is highlighted at $1.90, which coincides with a bullish support zone dating back to an order block formed in June. XRP Price Levels To Watch The $2.20 and $1.90 price levels represent the most important zones on the weekly chart. Holding above $2.20 could still allow XRP to maintain its bullish structure in the longer term. Closer short-term support levels are at $2.8 and $2.72, and holding up above these levels will set up XRP for another attempt at breaking above the descending channel. Particularly, newfound buying pressure has allowed XRP to push past $2.9 and $3.0 in the past 48 hours, reaching an intraday high of $3.10. Interestingly, CoinsKid’s chart also leaves room for optimism. A bullish projection shows a scenario where XRP breaks through the channel’s upper trendline and rallies above $4. The XRP price has often drawn ambitious forecasts, but few as outrageous as a recent prediction placing its potential value at $170,000 per token. This projection not only suggests that XRP could surpass the current price of its primary rival, Ethereum, but even dethrone Bitcoin, which has an ATH above $124,000. The crypto analyst behind this bold claim openly rejects conventional valuation models, arguing that they belong to the “old world” and are incapable of measuring the disruptive potential of blockchain-based assets. Why A $170,000 XRP Price Isn’t “Impossible” XRP long-term price forecasts continue to grow bolder as the market evolves, with the latest prediction by crypto analyst ‘XRP Dragon,’ suggesting that reaching $170,000 is not only possible, but inevitable. The analyst argued that the reason many dismiss such a target is due to an insistence on applying “old world math” to an emerging digital economy that operates under different principles. Related Reading: Analyst Predicts XRP Price Will Definitely Reach $10,000, Gives Reasons Why To illustrate this distinct perspective, the analyst shared a video alongside his analysis on X social media, featuring a woman who explained the reasoning behind his bold $170,000 forecast. She likened the misconceptions surrounding XRP’s price potential to how people viewed the internet in its early days. She explained that back in 1995, it would have made no sense to measure the transformative power of the internet through an outdated tool like the phone book. This is because, at the time, the internet was creating an entirely “new world” that the phone book could not capture. She argues that a similar shift is occurring with money today. Many still rely on old-world concepts, such as market capitalization, a measure that works in the old paper system. However, this obsolete system is falling apart as the world transitions into a new era of digital money. According to her, using outdated calculations like market cap to define XRP’s potential value is akin to trying to fit a revolutionary new technology into a framework designed for the past. Related Reading: Analyst Highlights 2 Scenarios That Sends XRP Price To $9.6 And $33 She further added that the foundation of global finance is shifting rapidly as banks, countries, and eventually trillions of dollars transition onto digital rails. Within this system, XRP is designed to serve as the connecting bridge that enables value to flow between institutions and across borders. From this perspective, the $170,000 XRP price projection is not an impossible or unrealistic target but an “inevitable” outcome, if the asset is measured according to the digital system it was created for. XRP Repeats 2017 Bull Run Pattern New technical analysis further reveals that XRP is showing signs of repeating its historic 2017 bull cycle. According to crypto analyst EtherNasyonal, back then, XRP followed a precise sequence of accumulation, rally, re-accumulation, and then another explosive move upward before entering distribution. The analyst’s chart shows that XRP is mirroring the exact pattern seen during the 2017 bull run. Already, XRP has passed through its accumulation and initial breakout phase, now sitting in a consolidation zone. If price action repeats past patterns exactly, another strong move higher could emerge in 2025. EtherNasyonal predicts a potential price surge toward $10 before the distribution phase kicks in. The latest analysis from DustyBC Crypto indicates that the XRP price is still struggling to overcome key resistance levels. The price has increased a few times, but each attempt to move higher has faced rejection. For XRP, the situation is not yet showing clear signs of a breakout. Instead, the market outlook remains cautious, and there is still a chance of further downside before the pattern can fully play out. XRP Price Faces Resistance With More Rejections In Market Action According to DustyBC Crypto, XRP recently pushed upward but quickly met a strong resistance zone. After testing that level, the price began rejecting again, showing that sellers are still active in this range. These repeated rejections suggest weakness in the market, and they are not unusual compared to what is happening with Bitcoin and Ethereum. Related Reading: SWIFT Is Planning To Launch Its Own Blockchain Amid Trillion-Dollar Battle, But It’s Not With Ripple DustyBC Crypto’s analysis indicates the XRP price action has not yet demonstrated the strength necessary to confirm a bullish trend, and the market remains uncertain. DustyBC Crypto notes that this behavior is common when an asset is between support and resistance levels, and it often takes time for a clear direction to form. Because of this, DustyBC Crypto reminded traders that they should not mistake the current price movements for real breakouts. Short-term gains may appear positive on the surface, but until XRP can break through the key resistance zone, rejections are likely to continue. The market remains range-bound, and the technical picture has not undergone significant changes. Bearish Scenario Keeps $2.69–$2.33 Range In Play DustyBC Crypto also warns that the risk of a further drop remains in play. The bearish target range of $2.69 to $2.33 remains valid as long as the market continues to show weakness. XRP could fall further before a pattern completion, keeping traders on alert. According to his analysis, there is still considerable room for the price to decrease. Although XRP can occasionally provide small bullish signals, these moves are not strong enough to confirm a new uptrend. The risk of fake-outs remains high, and traders who chase these moves without patience could get caught in sudden reversals. Related Reading: Early Bitcoin Investor Reveals Biggest Regret After Years In The Market The $2.69–$2.33 zone is highlighted as the area to watch, as it represents where bearish pressure may next push the market. DustyBC Crypto emphasizes that patience is key, as only after this range plays out will the longer-term pattern become more complete. Until then, the market remains technically uncertain, and DustyBC Crypto advises caution. For now, XRP traders are urged not to rush into bullish trades too early. According to DustyBC Crypto, the best approach is to wait for stronger confirmation before making an entry. He says this way, they could reduce risk and avoid being caught by short-term market fluctuations. Featured image created with Dall.E, chart from Tradingview.com
The XRP price is positioned at a pivotal level that will determine the next trend to play out from here. This was highlighted by crypto analyst, The Alchemist Trader, in a TradingView post that shared notable insights into the current price action of the cryptocurrency. The crypto analyst also explained that there are technical points that will determine the next move, and depending on how bears and bulls perform, there could either be a lot of gains or major losses. The Three Key Points To Watch With the XRP price already showing a lot of weakness, The Alchemist Trader explains that the altcoin is now consolidating near the value area low of its local trading range. This sits around the $2.8 level that the price has been moving around over the last few weeks. Related Reading: Crypto Analyst Predicts What Dogecoin Investors Should Expect Price-Wise This Month The price trading at this value area low also shows that there are a lot of sellers in the market pushing down the price. It had previously pushed the price back toward a critical support level at $2.7, and this has set the stage for either the next bounce or decline. This is because this level holds a lot of liquidity, meaning it is an equal opportunity point for both bears and bulls. Given this trend, the crypto analyst has outlined three key technical points that investors should watch for the XRP price. The first of these is the possibility of the XRP price making consecutive lower highs and pushing it toward the value area low, a bearish signal. Next on the list is that a breakdown from there could push the price toward the Point of Control (POC), as well as the 0.618 Fibonacci and VWAP confluence. Then, last but not least, is the fact that the liquidity at the current levels could mean that there is a sharp wick before the price begins to reverse. How The XRP Price Could Play Out From Here As mentioned above, one of the first things to watch out for is the test of the value area low. From here, if the XRP price were to break down, then it would signal that the decline would deepen from here. It would push the target toward the Point of Control (POC) and deeper support levels. Reaching these levels would mean a possible 25% decline toward $2.33. Related Reading: Analyst Says Dogecoin’s Parabolic Run Is Inevitable – Historical Pattern Point To Another Breakout However, in the event that this support holds firmly, then the analyst sees the XRP price bouncing back into its trading range. The price could wick down first, but this would end in an eventual stabilization and continuation. In this case, the target is placed at $3.5, possibly setting the price on a campaign for new all-time highs. Featured image from Dall.E, chart from TradingView.com
SWIFT, the global network that handles most of the world’s cross-border payments, is preparing to launch its own blockchain as rumors about an ongoing payments battle with Ripple circulate. While many often compare SWIFT’s role to Ripple due to its XRP-linked payment solutions, this new plan is not a direct challenge to the fintech company, but rather part of a much larger trillion-dollar race to define the future of digital money. SWIFT Partners With Consensys To Build Blockchain Network According to the announcement, SWIFT is collaborating with Consensys, the Ethereum development company founded by Joe Lubin, to create a shared digital ledger that supports faster, cheaper, and more efficient international transactions. Related Reading: Early Bitcoin Investor Reveals Biggest Regret After Years In The Market SWIFT is still keeping its blockchain ledger in the prototype stage, but leading banks are already testing it. JP Morgan in the United States and Deutsche Bank in Europe are among the major institutions participating in these early trials. SWIFT and its partners design the new infrastructure to support regulated stablecoins as well as tokenized assets. The shared ledger links directly to private blockchains that organizations use internally and to public blockchains open to the general public. By connecting the two, banks and financial companies in different regions will be able to join the platform without having to abandon the systems they already use. Ripple, long known for linking its XRP token with cross-border solutions, has been in this space for years. However, the announcement notes that SWIFT’s strategy differs. Instead of relying on a single cryptocurrency, it is creating a network that works directly with banks and established institutions. Trillion-Dollar Stablecoin Threat Pushes SWIFT Into Blockchain Race SWIFT’s move to launch its own blockchain could be part of a much bigger trillion-dollar battle in the payments world. Stablecoins, which are digital assets tied to fiat currencies, are now used in transactions worth trillions of dollars. The rise of stablecoins could challenge SWIFT’s long-established role in global payments. If banks begin to settle transactions directly with stablecoins, they may no longer depend on the global messaging network for cross-border transfers. Related Reading: XRP Price May Not See An Explosive Rally In October As Expected, Here’s Why The rapid growth of stablecoins could prompt banks to bypass SWIFT altogether, and if banks opt to use new digital payment systems instead, SWIFT’s role could shrink significantly. The global messaging network for financial institutions is now building the blockchain ledger within its framework to reduce this risk and prevent banks from migrating to rival providers. The move does not mean SWIFT is going head-to-head with Ripple alone. As stablecoins and tokenized money gain wider adoption, SWIFT is developing its own blockchain ledger to maintain its central position in the international payments market. The global financial messaging giant may be working to strengthen its leading position and prepare for the trillion-dollar race that could shape the international money transfer market. Crypto pundit Mikybull Crypto has revealed that XRP has flipped green for the first time since 2017. Based on this, he predicted that the altcoin could record a rally of up to 500%, reaching $15 in the process. XRP Eyes Rally To $15 As Price Flips Green In an X post, Mikybull Crypto predicted that XRP could rally to between $5 and $15. This came as the analyst noted that the altcoin has flipped green on the quarterly chart for the first time since 2017. He suggested that the rally of up to 500% may already be underway, noting that XRP has already broken above the resistance, just as it did in 2017. In a follow-up X post, Mikybull Crypto doubled down on his bullish sentiment towards XRP, stating that the altcoin’s big move is incoming as it is heading for a mega breakout. His accompanying chart indicated that the key was for XRP to successfully flip the $2.90 level again into support and decisively break above the psychological $3 level. Related Reading: XRP Price Is About To Close A 3M Candle Above This Major Region, Here’s What It Means For Price Meanwhile, crypto analyst Egrag Crypto has made a more bullish forecast for XRP, predicting that it could rally to as high as $33. Like Mikybull Crypto, the analyst also alluded to the 2017 bull cycle as the reason why XRP could witness a parabolic surge to this ambitious price target. However, although he is bullish on XRP in the long term, Egrag Crypto stated that he believes there might be one more flush out before the altcoin rallies to new highs. The crypto analyst further remarked that there is about a 70% chance for a flush before the XRP uptrend continues, which he noted is healthier from a structural point of view. He added that there is a 30% chance of an immediate pump but warned that it will eventually lead to a sharp correction. Egrag Crypto expects XRP to drop to at least $2.65, with the possibility of a further decline to the fair value gap between $2.35 and $2.40. Bearish Divergences Hint At Further Drop Before The Breakout Crypto analyst CasiTrades stated that XRP’s bearish divergences hint at lower support levels before a potential breakout to the upside. She noted that the downside tests remain valid, with $2.79 and $2.58 as the key support levels to watch out for as the altcoin remains below $3. The analyst added that a test of $2.58 could still support a much larger bullish move to new highs. Related Reading: XRP Price Final Low: Here’s The Target To Watch For Next Recovery However, CasiTrades warned that a break below $2.58 would invalidate the bullish market structure and threaten the macro outlook. Meanwhile, she told market participants that when XRP is truly ready to begin wave 3, the macro resistance levels at $2.79, $3, and $3.25 should break cleanly and without hesitation. If XRP continues to hesitate, she believes that further downside testing may be necessary first. At the time of writing, the XRP price is trading at around $2.8, down in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap. Featured image from Getty Images, chart from Tradingview.com
Ripple is taking another bold step toward mainstream finance by extending the reach of its Interledger Protocol into the SWIFT network, regarded as the backbone of global payments. By enabling interoperability between two of the most influential payment ecosystems, Ripple is positioning XRP as a key player in the future of international money movement. Could XRP Become A Standard For Settlement? The strategy for mainstream adoption of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and its native asset, XRP, is intricately linked to the Interledger Protocol (ILP). As highlighted by researcher SMQKE on X, Ripple’s approach is to become an essential part of the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) network, providing an interoperable layer that seamlessly bridges the old and new financial worlds. Related Reading: Pundit Claims That Ripple Is Building The Banking System Right On The Blockchain Using XRP This Interledger Protocol is designed to synchronize separate ledgers without forming a new one, while acting as a connective tissue across financial systems. In many ways, it mirrors SWIFT’s own structure, where the successful processing of a payment message creates binding obligations to pay between nodes and intermediaries. However, ILP is Ripple’s core strategy for mainstream adoption of the XRP Ledger. By making ILP fully compatible with SWIFT, Ripple ensures that both XRP and its technology can plug into the world’s most dominant payment network. What’s important about this move is the fact that Ripple itself is now often described as evolving into the Interledger Protocol initiative. Ripple understood that the world would never standardize on a single ledger, which is why it built ILP to enable interoperability to bridge across multiple systems. Meanwhile, this approach is reinforced through the ISO 20022 adoption to ensure that the entire transaction is secure, seamless, and scalable, offering a superior settlement experience that coexists with the bank’s existing messaging connectivity across the global financial infrastructure. “The strategy is clear: one protocol (ILP), unlimited networks, and seamless XRP movement,” SMQKE noted. The Promise Of Financial Freedom With XRP As the crypto landscape expands, XRP has been hailed as an asset that could offer financial breakthroughs. The sentiment expressed by Traveler2236 points to a profound vision of global financial inclusion and the end of economic inequality enforced by legacy systems. A fresh bout of tribal sparring over token valuations broke out on X after CoinRoutes founder Dave Weisberger asked why XRP trades at more than ten times the market value of Chainlink’s LINK despite Chainlink’s high-profile role in financial-market infrastructure. The exchange, which followed Swift’s announcement at Sibos that it will launch a blockchain-based ledger, quickly crystallized two very different theories of “value capture” in crypto: a native asset securing and settling an L1 network versus a utility token powering oracle middleware. Weisberger set the stage with a direct challenge to the XRP community: “Can someone from the XRP army (@xrpmickle) explain how XRP is more than TEN times LINK’s value, when LINK has a REAL partnership with SWIFT, AND a clear path to revenue to be shared with Token holders…” The prompt referenced Chainlink’s post congratulating Swift on adopting “blockchains and oracle networks as a key next step,” and emphasizing that Chainlink and Swift “have collaborated across numerous initiatives” to connect financial institutions to blockchains using existing infrastructure and standards. Why Is XRP 10x More ‘Valuable’ Than LINK What followed was equal parts token-economics debate and culture clash. Weisberger, who later clarified “To be clear, I hold both,” added that he thinks “XRP bulls are delusional in their calls,” while conceding that such delusion does not preclude outperformance versus traditional assets. His framing invited two lines of reply: the “volume and adoption” argument and the “different problem, different TAM” argument. Related Reading: XRP Holds Key Support as Institutions Accumulate and ETF Filing Sparks Debate On the data front, one respondent, @baggins_cc, asserted that “The XRP token has a $172B market cap, while LINK has $14B (1/10th). And when looking at the last 24h, by volume, XRPL has processed $4.9B in revenue, compared to LINK, which only has processed $641M. Marketcap is absolute when it comes to ranking, and Volume is empirical & objectively a fact, when it comes to real world adoption.” Weisberger pushed back with a counterexample intended to decouple throughput from token value: “What is the value of XRPL to XRP when TRX processes more than 500 TIMES USDT by value and is 1/5th the market cap?” The thrust: raw settlement or messaging volume does not automatically translate into superior price performance or capitalization for a token. The second, more structural line of response came from former Ripple engineer Matt Hamilton. In a succinct distinction, he wrote: “Trying to compare their value is sort of meaningless. Link is a protocol, the XRP Ledger is an actual network. XRP is the native asset of that entire network. Link is just the token used within the link protocol.” In other words, the two assets occupy different positions in the technology stack: XRP is the base-layer currency of an L1 that provides security, fee payment, and liquidity for its ledger; LINK is the work token for an oracle protocol that sits above execution layers to deliver data and cross-chain services. That stack-positioning argument was amplified by the XRP army member “Ripple Bull Winkle,” who reframed the comparison in terms of addressable markets: “Because XRP isn’t competing with LINK — it’s solving a different problem on a much larger scale. LINK = middleware for data feeds. XRP = bridge asset for global settlement. One secures oracles, the other settles value between banks, CBDCs, tokenized treasuries, & stablecoins. The TAM for cross-border payments dwarfs oracle revenue. And by the way — Ripple has been partnered with SWIFT participants for years. This isn’t XRP vs LINK, it’s XRP in the heart of the plumbing that moves the actual money. That’s why the market values it 10x higher.” Related Reading: Everyone’s Wrong About XRP: Here’s Why, Says Top Analyst Other replies took aim at investor narratives themselves. When a commenter criticized Weisberger’s “lazy ask,” he volleyed back with a reminder that many were “talked into XRP based on SWIFT, despite no clear token economics and no definitive use case,” nodding to years of marketing-driven expectations that official banking rails would one day require XRP. In the end, the thread does not “prove” why XRP is worth ten times LINK or vice versa; instead, it exposes a fundamental split in crypto investing frameworks. One camp prioritizes native-asset economics of base layers and their role as neutral settlement media; the other prioritizes revenue-bearing middleware whose services are indispensable to a tokenized financial system. As the Swift news resets expectations about how legacy rails will interface with blockchains, the core question for markets remains unchanged: which designs actually trap value, and how verifiably do those mechanics funnel real-world usage into persistent demand for the token itself? On that score, the debate is far from settled. At press time, XRP traded at $2.84. Featured image created with DALL.E, chart from TradingView.com
