According to software engineer Vincent Van Code, fresh practical reasons are emerging for renewed confidence in XRP among some developers and investors. He argues that the biggest barrier to big firms holding XRP directly isn’t price or interest — it’s operations and compliance. Related Reading: 16,000 Ancient Bitcoins Just Moved—And It’s Costing Whales Billions Custody Costs Stall Direct Holdings Van Code told followers that big companies can’t just “set up a Ledger or Xumm wallet and drop $100 million in there.” He said institutions need formal custody arrangements, regular audits and compliance systems before they will touch crypto on a large scale. Reports place the upkeep of those services at about $300,000 a year for a single institutional setup, a figure that helps explain why many firms prefer not to hold tokens on their own balance sheets. What I am realizing with the bew @evernorthxrp announcement and stagnant XRP price is that it might be harder than we think for institutions to buy and hold XRP. There are currently seven applications for XRP ETFs pending with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, though filings have been paused amid the US government shutdown. For many large investors, buying shares in a regulated fund or a company with an XRP treasury avoids the need to run custody systems in-house. Evernorth has become a focal point in that discussion. The venture, backed in part by Ripple, plans to build what it calls an institutional XRP treasury. Evernorth aims to purchase $1 billion worth of XRP and will start with over 560 million XRP after it secures $1.1 billion in committed capital from participants that include Ripple and SBI Holdings. Reports say the firm is pursuing a merger that is expected to close in Q1 2026, and the XRP purchases are planned to take place within 10 days of funding. ???? XRP’s price has been showing signs of consolidation in recent days and oscillating between $2.30 and $2.50. The entire crypto market has been relatively steady, and XRP has managed to maintain its footing above $2.20. Despite the slow momentum, a technical analysis shared by the crypto analyst known as ChartNerd on X suggests that XRP could be preparing for a massive breakout that could take it from current levels toward a long-term target above $27. The analysis is supported by a chart showing multiple confluences aligning in favor of such a large-scale move. XRP Technical Analysis Points To Rally According to ChartNerd’s chart, XRP has now completed a symmetrical triangle breakout pattern that has been forming for several years. This breakout is occurring above a multi-year ascending support line that dates back to 2017. The chart also shows an important resistance block that previously capped XRP’s price during earlier bull runs in 2017 and 2021. Related Reading: XRP Price Teleport To $6: What Happens When The Euphoric Phase Begin XRP broke above this resistance block months ago, but recently retested it during last week’s flash crash. Its rebound from this resistance block reinforces the idea that XRP is about to bounce massively. The breakout from this long-term consolidation zone, combined with the multi-year ascending trendline, provides the technical foundation for a potential move toward much higher price targets. Another important confirmation that occurred during the flash crash was the successful retest of the 3-month 10 EMA. This retest serves as a validation point for the recent breakout, showing that XRP is maintaining its structure on higher timeframes. Furthermore, the analysis shows that XRP has reclaimed the Gaussian Channel upper regression line, which represents long-term trend momentum. This alignment of the EMA retest with the Gaussian Channel suggests strong bullish momentum is beginning to build. ChartNerd refers to this convergence of multiple indicators as a “confluence zone.” Fibonacci Extension Targets From $8 To $27 The analysis concludes with a clearly defined Fibonacci extension roadmap that outlines XRP’s next price objectives. ChartNerd’s Fibonacci levels place the first major target at $8.47, corresponding to the 1.272 extension, followed by $13.78 at the 1.414 level, and finally the 1.618 extension at $27.70. Related Reading: Analyst Warns XRP Investors That A Supply Squeeze Is Coming And What It Means For Price This sequence implies a full technical replication of XRP’s bull run in 2017, scaled to its current breakout structure. Back then, XRP hit all three Fibonacci extensions from the previous low after breaking above a similar resistance block. If these projections materialize, XRP could experience its most significant rally in years. The move toward $27 could unfold in one of two ways: either through a strong, near-vertical surge similar to the explosive rally of 2017 or through a series of measured advances highlighted by corrections at each resistance level. Nonetheless, both scenarios have the same bullish structure. At the time of writing, XRP is trading at $2.44, up by 1.4% in the past 24 hours. Featured image from iStock, chart from Tradingview.com
A cryptocurrency analyst has pointed out how a rebound could be about to begin for XRP after the Tom Demark (TD) Sequential flashed a buy signal. TD Sequential Has Given A Buy Signal For XRP In a new post on X, analyst Ali Martinez has talked about a TD Sequential signal that has appeared on XRP’s 4-hour price chart. The TD Sequential refers to a technical analysis (TA) indicator that’s generally used for locating points of probable reversal in any asset’s price. The indicator involves two phases: the setup and countdown. In the first of these, it counts up candles of the same color up to nine. These candles don’t have to be consecutive. Once the nine candles are in, it signals that the prevailing trend has reached a state of exhaustion, with the price now potentially reaching a turnaround. Related Reading: Bitcoin Could Drop To $97,500 If This Key On-Chain Level Fails, Glassnode Warns Naturally, this signal is a sell one if the candles leading up to the setup’s completion were green. Similarly, the asset could be assumed to have hit a bottom if nine red candles were involved instead. As soon as the setup is over, the countdown picks off. This phase works in much the same manner, with the only difference being that it lasts for thirteen candles, not nine. Once these thirteen candles are also in, the price attains another top/bottom. Now, here is the chart shared by Martinez that shows the TD Sequential signal that has recently formed for the 4-hour XRP price: As displayed in the above graph, this TD Sequential setup has appeared after a drawdown in the XRP price, suggesting the coin may be due for a reversal to the upside. “Looks like the rebound is about to begin!” noted the analyst. Since the signal has appeared, the asset has already witnessed a bounce, implying that its bullish effect could be in action. It now remains to be seen whether this would lead to a fresh rally for the asset, or if the recovery will fizzle out before long. Related Reading: Is Bitcoin Ready For A Rebound? This Metric Says More Pain Needed First XRP isn’t the only altcoin that has seen a TD Sequential setup recently. As Martinez has explained in another X post, Chainlink (LINK) has also witnessed the same signal on its 4-hour price chart. From the graph, it’s visible that LINK has also completed this TD Sequential setup with nine red candles, indicating that the cryptocurrency may also be heading toward bullish price action. “The bounce could start any moment now!” said the analyst. Crypto analyst Remi has made his bull run predictions for coins like XRP, Solana, and Cardano. Despite the price targets being ambitious, the analyst described them as “semi-conservative,” suggesting the coins could rally much higher. XRP And Solana To $1,000, And Cardano To $100 In an X post, Remi predicted that XRP and Solana will rally above $1,000 while Cardano will reach $100. He stated that these price targets are based on information, research, and historical performance. The analyst also made predictions for HBAR, XLM, ONDO, LINK, XDC, and QNT, all of which he expects to record astronomical gains. Related Reading: Technical Analysis Suggests XRP’s Playbook From 2017 Could Repeat In 2025 Interestingly, the analyst stated that these were semi-conservative targets for XRP, Solana, and Cardano and that he personally thinks they could rally higher. He added that these targets might not even come close to his expectations and that they are simply based on utility and a super cycle without any black swan events. Remi also advised investors not to make the same mistake he made during his first bull run by leaving profits on the table in hopes that coins like XRP, Solana, and Cardano will go higher. He told them not to be greedy and take profits at different intervals. The analyst added that they should not wait for the high numbers because they might not happen for various reasons. Furthermore, the crypto analyst advised investors on custody, urging them to secure their XRP, Solana, and Cardano in a cold wallet. He explained that crypto exchanges are “in it to win it” and are not here for the customers. Meanwhile, the analyst didn’t mention what utility could spark these runs for these coins. However, it is worth noting that XRP, Solana, and Cardano are all set to have their spot ETFs, although it remains to be seen how high these coins could reach on the back of these institutional inflows. Why the Price Targets Are Not “Crazy” Remi admitted that the price targets for XRP, Solana, and Cardano may seem crazy, but assured that they are not. He explained that the market cycle is now 5 years instead of 4, indicating that “huge numbers are coming.” He noted that these big numbers will coincide with the voting season. XRP continues to struggle for bullish momentum as market sentiment remains heavily bearish. After weeks of declining prices and fading trading volume, the token is still trading below the $2.5 mark, with traders growing increasingly cautious. While some analysts interpret this as a cooling-off period before the next potential expansion phase, fear and uncertainty continue to dominate the market’s short-term outlook. Related Reading: Kadena Shuts Down Operations – Team Confirms Immediate Cease Of All Activities Adding to the tension, top CryptoQuant analyst Maartunn revealed that Chris Larsen, Ripple’s co-founder, has realized over $764 million in profits since January 2018 from XRP-related sales. According to on-chain data, Larsen’s selling activity tends to coincide with local price peaks — a pattern that raises questions about whether current market behavior could signal another turning point. Although such sales are not uncommon among large holders, timing and consistency are key factors that often influence investor sentiment. For many, these moves highlight the delicate balance between long-term strategic profit-taking and the perception of insider confidence in the project’s future. As XRP battles to hold current levels, the market will be closely watching whether institutional players and insiders maintain their exposure — or continue to cash out amid growing volatility. Chris Larsen’s Recurring Profit-Taking and the Fragile State of Altcoins According to analyst Maartunn, Chris Larsen’s latest XRP sale is connected to EvernorthXRP, an entity believed to be one of the wallets managing Ripple-linked holdings and distributions. While this particular transaction might appear routine, Maartunn points out that it fits a recurring pattern — Larsen has consistently realized large profits close to local market highs. Each time XRP experiences a rally, significant selling activity from wallets tied to Ripple executives tends to follow. This recurring behavior fuels debate around insider timing and investor sentiment. While such moves can be interpreted as simple portfolio rebalancing, they often occur when retail enthusiasm peaks, amplifying uncertainty during already fragile market conditions. The timing of Larsen’s sales — amid a broader altcoin correction — has intensified speculation that large holders are preparing for extended market weakness. The current environment for altcoins remains particularly delicate. Many tokens are sitting near long-term support zones, trading well below their 200-day moving averages. Historically, altcoins have only regained strong bullish momentum after Bitcoin has convincingly broken above its all-time high (ATH). Without this confirmation from BTC, capital tends to stay conservative, favoring liquidity and safety over speculation. In essence, Larsen’s consistent profit-taking and the wider altcoin stagnation highlight the market’s transitional phase. Until Bitcoin reasserts dominance through a clean breakout, most altcoins — including XRP — are likely to face muted inflows and persistent volatility. Investors are now watching whether Bitcoin’s next major move will reignite confidence across the crypto landscape or confirm that the current rally was just another temporary bounce in an uncertain cycle. The 3-day chart shows the token struggling below both the 50-day and 100-day moving averages, signaling persistent bearish momentum. The recent rejection near the $2.60–$2.70 area aligns with a key resistance cluster that has consistently capped upside attempts since early October. Despite the current weakness, XRP has managed to hold above the 200-day moving average, which currently sits near $2.00 — a level that has historically acted as strong dynamic support. If this level fails, the next downside target could lie around $1.80–$1.90, where the previous accumulation zone formed earlier this year. On the upside, bulls would need to push the price decisively above $2.70 to regain control and confirm a short-term trend reversal. Such a move would likely attract fresh liquidity and shift sentiment toward recovery. The recent market recovery has seen the XRP price look to break the $2.5 level again, which could lead to a continuation of the uptrend. While all eyes remain on the $3 level to be reclaimed right now, bullish expectations abound for the altcoin. The XRP price, despite suffering recent crashes, is expected to reach new all-time highs, beating the $3.8 peak that has been persistent for over seven years now. What Happens If The XRP Price Regains Momentum Pseudonymous crypto analyst, “Guy on the Earth”, has shared an analysis of the XRP price that shows the possibilities that lie ahead for the cryptocurrency. So far, the altcoin has continued to consolidate after its rally back in 2024. With almost a year stuck in a consolidation trend and the market picking up, it is possible that the XRP price is finally ready for a breakout. Related Reading: Pundit Outlines The Possibility Of The XRP Price Getting To $1,000 One thing that stands out from here is the fact that the XRP price has continued to maintain higher lows through the consolidation trend. This suggests that while the direction may have been down, the overall sentiment still pointed to possible recovery and upside. Given this, it is expected that the breakout from the consolidation phase would be massive. This could be akin to what was experienced back in November 2024, when the XRP price rallied by over 600% before reaching a top. The analyst expects XRP to enter into what is essentially a “euphoric phase,” and the price is expected to reach $6. This would translate to an over 100% increase in price, and brand new all-time highs for the first time since 2018. The Bears Are Still Lurking While most indicators are still pointing toward bullishness, there is still the possibility that bears reclaim control once again. The main problem would arise if the XRP price were to fall below $2, setting the tone for the next wave of declines. Related Reading: Bitcoin Price 60% Crash To $50,000 Coming? Why All Roads Point To A Decline The crypto analyst highlights that a decline below $2 would mean that the bull rally is over and the bear market is looming into view. In the worst-case scenario, the XRP price would fall into a longer consolidation trend, pushing it as low as $1. Presently, it is important for the XRP price to clear $3 with momentum, putting the bulls in charge. Also, if the Bitcoin price continues to rise, then it could take the whole market into another bull run. Featured image from Dall.E, chart from TradingView.com

Besides, there was a break below a connecting bullish trend line with support at $2.320 on the hourly chart of the XRP/USD pair. The price is now trading below $2.420 and the 100-hourly Simple Moving Average. If there is a fresh upward move, the price might face resistance near the $2.420 level. The first major resistance is near the $2.50 level, above which the price could rise and test $2.550. A clear move above the $2.550 resistance might send the price toward the $2.580 resistance. Any more gains might send the price toward the $2.650 resistance. The next major hurdle for the bulls might be near $2.720. Another Drop? XRP is holding firm above the $2.38 support level after a recent pullback, suggesting that bulls may still have control. As buying pressure builds, traders are watching closely for a potential breakout that could reignite bullish momentum in the coming sessions. Early Strength Fades After Hitting $2.52 Umair Crypto, in his latest market update, noted that XRP displayed initial strength after rebounding cleanly from the 50-day Simple Moving Average (SMA). The price managed to climb to around $2.52 with a solid close on the 4-hour chart, signaling renewed buyer interest and a potential shift in short-term momentum. Related Reading: XRP Price Coils Below Resistance — Bulls Prepare For Possible Upside Explosion However, that early optimism was short-lived as XRP’s upward push lost steam before even reaching the 100-day SMA. The failure to extend higher has started to reveal some underlying weakness in the chart, with bulls struggling to sustain momentum at higher levels. Umair emphasized that the Relative Strength Index (RSI) trendline now plays a crucial role in determining the next direction. A confirmed breakdown below this RSI trendline could lead to another lower low, effectively continuing the current local downtrend and reinforcing bearish sentiment in the market. For now, the situation remains uncertain. XRP must hold firmly above the $2.38 support level and maintain strength along the RSI trendline. However, a failure to do so could expose XRP to deeper downside risks in the short term. Momentum Or Pause? The Decisive Moment For XRP MakroVision Research highlighted that XRP successfully halted its steep decline within the lower Golden Pocket region, between approximately $1.40 and $1.55, and has recovered as buying pressure resurfaced. In the short term, the firm noted that XRP is now approaching a key resistance range between $2.48 and $2.65. Related Reading: XRP Charts Telling A Tale: Q4 Setup Mirrors 2017 Bullish Breakout, Time To Buy? A failure to break above this zone could lead to temporary consolidation as the market gathers momentum for its next move. On the downside, the $1.96 level remains a critical support area, as losing it could reintroduce downside pressure. From an upside perspective, a decisive and sustained breakout above $2.65 could open the door for further gains toward $3.06. According to MakroVision Research, only a move beyond this level would confirm renewed bullish strength and restore clear upward momentum across the broader trend. In conclusion, the analyst emphasized that XRP’s precise targeting of the Golden Pocket and its swift recovery show that buyers are still active and defending key zones. However, the next major test lies in whether the bulls can generate enough momentum to overcome the $2.65 resistance and set the stage for a broader rally. In a livestream on October 22, 2025, crypto commentator Zach Rector argued that an XRP supply squeeze in 2025 is effectively “baked in,” contending that pending spot exchange-traded funds and a wave of “digital asset treasury” vehicles will lock up meaningful amounts of circulating supply. Why A XRP Supply Shock Could Be Coming “This is no longer speculation,” Rector said at the top of the show. “When these ETFs do go live, we are going to see inflows… With conservative assumptions on the inflows and simple math on the multiplier… we can confirm that XRP is going to a much higher price and that a supply shock will ensue this year unless the government shutdown extends until 2026.” Rector anchored his thesis to what he described as empirics from last year’s trading. Citing his own notes, he said that in November 2024 net inflows to XRP totaled only 118 million, while market capitalization rose by 105 billion,” implying, in his framing, an “883x market cap multiplier over a one-month period.” Anticipating skepticism about the short-window math, he countered that the same dynamic can cut both ways during liquidations. “It works on inflows coming in and price going up. It also works when there’s mass FUD and we get selling and people want to leave,” he said. Related Reading: XRP Price Prediction: Can Ripple’s Treasury and Volume Growth Push XRP to $5? Projecting forward to an ETF era, Rector posited that even “ridiculously conservative” assumptions lead to double-digit XRP. He referenced external estimates he said he’s seen for first-year or first-month demand—“JP Morgan saying $4 to $8 billion in the first year” and a range of “$5 to $10 billion” discussed by a fund executive—then applied a 100x multiplier as his base case. “What you see is XRP’s market cap growing by 500 billion… If we get 10 billion of inflows… you’re looking at a trillion of market cap growth,” he said, adding that at “around a 60 billion circulating supply” that math “is about a $17 to $20 XRP.” He stressed that the precise number is unknowable but the direction, in his view, is not: “It’s not a riddle… it’s rather simple math at this point.” Beyond ETFs, Rector highlighted what he called a parallel pipeline of balance-sheet buyers in the form of public digital asset treasury companies. He focused on Evernorth, describing it as a US vehicle “established to promote the adoption of the crypto asset XRP at an institutional scale” and planning to list on Nasdaq under the ticker “XRP” via a SPAC in early 2026. Related Reading: XRP DEX Volumes Surge As Price Plunges: Smart Money Accumulating? He read from an SBI Holdings press statement announcing a $200 million PIPE alongside Ripple and other investors, saying proceeds would be used “primarily to purchase XRP in the open market to build one of the world’s largest public XRP treasuries,” with audited reporting. “They’re going to bring 200 million of inflows into XRP,” he said, adding that Evernorth’s total committed capital “is expected to raise a total of over 1 billion.” For Rector, those purchases—whether from order books or OTC—still reduce float. “Even if they’re getting it OTC, they’re still driving a supply shock ,” he argued. Rector framed timing risk around Washington, asserting that a US government shutdown, which he said began on October 1 and had reached “21 days,” is delaying ETF approvals. He repeatedly caveated his 2025 call with the shutdown wildcard: “The only way that we don’t get a supply shock here in 2025 is if the government stays shut down throughout the rest of this year… Very unlikely, [but] that is the one caveat.” He added that, consistent with prior crypto cycles, he expects a “buy the rumor, sell the news” pullback on the day spot products go live, even as he maintains a bullish net view on cumulative inflows over subsequent weeks and months. At press time, XRP traded at $2.39. Featured image created with DALL.E, chart from TradingView.com
A 9.5% activity surge above weekly average suggests stealth buildup ahead of catalyst window.
XRP has shown remarkable resilience after a turbulent event that saw over $19 billion wiped out from the crypto market. The token, which had fallen below $1.90 just ten days ago, is now showing signs of strength and looking like it’s going to break past $2.50 anytime soon. This rebound comes amid an atmosphere of widespread fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) across the market. Despite the shaky sentiment, on-chain data suggests that this is a buy signal for XRP. XRP Rebounds Strongly After Market Capitulation Santiment’s latest data reveals that XRP’s recovery from its flash crash lows around $1.90 to $2.20, and then towards $2.50, has unfolded in tandem with one of the most intense waves of negative sentiment recorded this year. Notably, the platform’s crowd sentiment ratio reached its lowest level since January, reflecting the extreme point of pessimism among traders. Related Reading: XRP Price Is Trapped Under A Bearish Structure, What Happens If It Doesn’t Break $2.5 This extreme pessimism was a result of the XRP price crashing alongside many other cryptocurrencies. News and macroeconomic events, particularly the US tariff announcement on China, caused many XRP holders to sell at a loss under intense Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (FUD). This, in turn, caused the crowd sentiment to tank massively. Data from the on-chain analytics platform Santiment shows that the ratio of positive versus negative comments surrounding XRP fell to 1.856, its lowest point since late January 2025. The chart from Santiment illustrates how this ratio has been deteriorating steadily since mid-September. It dropped from 1.93 on September 19 to 1.44 by October 1 before plunging to 1.01 on October 8 and staying around that level for nearly a week. This sustained period of pessimism shows shaken confidence among XRP traders during the recent price volatility. However, there are early signs of stabilization. The sentiment ratio has begun to recover slightly, rising to 1.35 at the time of writing. This means that some optimism is returning now that XRP is trying to reclaim $2.5. What This Means For XRP’s Next Move XRP’s ability to rebound under such heavy FUD suggests the asset may be entering a stronger accumulation phase. XRP flirted with stronger levels this week but slipped back as traders reassessed positions. Community Response Divided Reactions to Rector’s claim were split. Some holders sounded upbeat and said they would be “caught off guard” in a good way. Others pushed back, arguing that similar optimism has circulated for years with no sustained break above prior highs. Based on reports in the thread, one user said the prediction has been repeated for five years and has not yet come true. Another warned that XRP needs to reclaim $3 before talk of new records makes sense. The XRP pump to new all time highs will catch so many people off guard. — Zach Rector (@ZachRector7) October 20, 2025 Volume Signals And Price Action Market data gives a mixed picture. XRP is up 3.90% over the last seven days, and its market cap sits near $144 billion. Volume jumped even as price eased, a pattern traders often link to profit-taking or position changes ahead of bigger moves. Some market watchers see the higher volume as preparatory trading; others view it as a sign of selling pressure. Either way, the numbers show more activity than price movement alone would suggest. Regulatory And Macro Headwinds Reports have disclosed that broader events have affected XRP recently. The token dropped to an 11-month low after an announcement tied to tariffs from US President Donald Trump, and it has not fully recovered since. Several commenters on the thread tied XRP’s future to global trade ties and legislative progress in the US—factors outside trading charts that can still weigh on token demand. Bitcoin’s pull is also mentioned often; when Bitcoin weakens, many altcoins find it harder to launch on their own. A pro-XRP software developer sparked fresh debate this week by saying it takes “serious conviction” to hold volatile coins like XRP through long, wild swings. Holder Psychology Under Stress According to Van Code, the real test begins long before a coin hits big numbers. He pointed to Bitcoin as an example: Bitcoin traded under $1 in 2010 and now sits above $110,000. Many claim they would have held from those early days, but Van Code argued most people would have sold around $100. Every talks about “oh if I bought BTC for $1 id because billionaire today”. Ripple’s ongoing $1 billion capital raise continued to support sentiment among professional traders seeking exposure to regulated-linked tokens.
A recent post by XRP commentator Remi Relief on the social media platform X has looked into the possibility of XRP’s price reaching the $1,000 price level. XRP is currently trading well below even the double-digit mark. However, according to this crypto commentator, XRP can get to $1,000, and the world doesn’t need to wait until 2030 for this to happen. Vision Of XRP’s Global Purpose In his post, Remi Relief questioned the widespread belief that a $1,000 price target could only be achieved by XRP by 2030. The timeline for XRP to reach $1,000 is going to be far less than that, with the analyst noting that the global economy is moving too quickly for it to take that long. He described the altcoin’s rise as something far bigger than predictions, and this is because the cryptocurrency is set to play an important role in stabilizing the world’s financial system. Related Reading: XRP Price To Crash 40%? Analyst Reveals Worst-Case Scenario Remi Relief’s outlook places XRP at the core of a growing realignment in the world’s financial system. “It’s going that high for the world’s sake,” he said. He contends that the cryptocurrency’s growth is tied to a global effort to rebalance debt and liquidity. Hence, the recent price crashes we’ve seen with XRP and other cryptocurrencies are a deliberate play by institutional players to accumulate more XRP while smaller investors capitulate. According to Remi Relief, these shakeouts are deliberate and designed to clear the market so that major entities can assume dominance before the price finally explodes. He also suggested that political resistance, particularly from the Democratic Party in the United States, could slow or suppress XRP’s ascent, as maintaining control over the traditional banking system aligns with their interests. If such resistance succeeds, the token might fall short of the $1,000 target but could still reach between $100 and $300 before stabilizing. Nonetheless, this is an acceptable outcome given the current XRP price levels. What Must Align For The Altcoin To Reach $1,000 Extraordinary developments in both market structure and adoption would be required in order for XRP to reach a four-digit price level. Predictions like these, as we’ve seen from many XRP enthusiasts, are dependent on whether the token gains widespread adoption in the world’s financial ecosystem. Related Reading: XRP’s Most Important Week In History: Here’s What’s Coming For Ripple Institutional integration would have to expand to a scale where XRP becomes an indispensable liquidity bridge for global payments, central bank settlements, and large-value transfers. At the same time, demand from major financial institutions, including banks, fintech companies, and possibly even governments, would need to grow exponentially in order for this to be reflected in the XRP price. At the same time, a reduction in the liquid supply would be needed. This could happen through large-scale lockups, increased network utility, or widespread adoption in tokenized asset systems that reduce the circulating supply of XRP. In another post on the social media platform X, Remi Relief projected that the altcoin’s price could surge to $1,700 if it repeats its 2017/2018 performance. At the time of writing, XRP is trading at $2.42. Featured image from Peakpx, chart from Tradingview.com
XRP continues to face pressure as bulls struggle to push the price back above key resistance levels. After weeks of declines, market sentiment remains fragile, with many traders questioning whether the altcoin can find solid footing. However, some analysts still see potential upside — provided XRP manages to reclaim higher levels and attract renewed buying interest. Related Reading: The Bitcoin OG Is Back – Opens Massive Short After $30M USDC Deposit Fresh data from CryptoQuant sheds light on an important dynamic unfolding behind the scenes. Since the beginning of October, a clear shift has emerged in the behavior of XRP whales. According to the Whale-to-Exchange Flow chart for Binance, a surge in large deposits began on October 1st and persisted until October 17th, marking one of the most active periods of whale movement this year. This pattern typically signals mounting selling pressure, as large holders transfer assets to exchanges either to take profits or manage risk. Yet, for some analysts, these flows may also indicate repositioning — whales preparing for the next major move once volatility subsides. With on-chain activity rising and price volatility tightening, XRP now finds itself at a pivotal point where the next breakout — or breakdown — could define the rest of October’s trend. XRP Whale Activity Signals Selling Pressure According to insights by CryptoOnchain, the surge in XRP whale activity reached its peak on October 11th, when Whale-to-Exchange Transactions climbed to nearly 43,000 — one of the highest levels recorded this year. Such a sharp rise in inflows to centralized exchanges like Binance typically signals mounting selling pressure, as large holders prepare to liquidate positions, secure profits, or hedge against further downside risk. This wave of whale transfers aligns closely with the broader price trend. Since early October, XRP’s market structure has weakened, confirming that these on-chain movements were not random but rather part of a larger distribution phase. When comparing data, the timing is striking: the escalation in exchange deposits directly corresponds with a sharp price drop from above 3.0 to roughly 2.3, underscoring the weight of institutional or high-net-worth selling. Such coordinated behavior among large holders often sets the tone for short-term market direction. Historically, heavy whale inflows tend to precede local bottoms, as the liquidity created by sell pressure eventually attracts new buyers. However, for now, this pattern reinforces caution — suggesting that XRP remains under pressure until the outflow-to-inflow ratio flips back in favor of accumulation. If selling eases and outflows rise again, it could mark the early stages of stabilization. Until then, whale behavior remains a key signal to watch, especially as the asset attempts to recover from one of its steepest declines in recent months. XRP Price Analysis: Bulls Struggle to Regain Momentum XRP is showing signs of short-term stabilization after weeks of selling pressure, trading around $2.42 at the time of writing. The recent bounce from the $2.30 support zone suggests that buyers are attempting to defend this key level, but the broader structure remains fragile. The chart shows that XRP continues to trade below its 50-day and 100-day moving averages, signaling that the short- to mid-term trend remains bearish. The price failed to reclaim the $2.60–$2.70 resistance range, which now acts as a major supply zone following the sharp decline from early October highs near $3.0. The 200-day moving average, currently hovering around $2.55, is also capping upside momentum, reinforcing the difficulty for bulls to regain control. Economist and former forex analyst Moonchaser is explaining why expectations of the XRP price reaching $100,000 are not realistic. According to Moonchaser, many XRP fans misunderstand how market value works by claiming that XRP has no market cap. The economist highlighted that XRP, like any other asset or cryptocurrency, is affected by supply, demand, and liquidity. Economist Explains The Reality Behind Price Reaching $100,000 Moonchaser, who studied economics and previously worked as a forex analyst, says that some people in the XRP community believe the token can reach extreme prices because they think it has “no market cap.” This idea, Moonchaser explains, is built on a misunderstanding of how currencies are valued and traded in real-world markets. In their view, economic principles apply equally to all assets, whether they are fiat money, commodities, or digital tokens. Related Reading: Dogecoin 3rd Cycle Explosion: Analyst Revels The Only Difference From Last Two Cycles Using the U.S. dollar as an example, Moonchaser notes that every currency has a measurable total value based on the amount in circulation and its global trade. The dollar’s value changes daily because of the balance between supply, demand, and liquidity. The same rule applies to the XRP price, which also trades across international markets and follows the same market laws. It means that XRP’s price is not free from limits and cannot simply rise endlessly based on belief or community hype. Moonchaser stresses that ignoring these realities creates unrealistic expectations within the XRP community. According to them, calling XRP a “currency” does not make it limitless in value; instead, XRP functions within the same market framework that governs all other financial assets. XRP Can’t Overtake Bitcoin Due To Market Structure In their post, Moonchaser further explains that market capitalization, which is price multiplied by circulating supply, applies to every form of tradable asset. Whether it’s fiat money, gold, or a digital coin, traders can always calculate the total market value. XRP is no exception to this rule. The economist points out that XRP has a measurable circulating supply and a price that moves through normal market discovery, where the balance between buyers and sellers directly determines its potential value, not wishful thinking. “Currency does not mean a capless asset,” Moonchaser says, reminding traders that every market has structure and limits. Related Reading: Why The Dogecoin Price Could Still Hit A 600% Rally To Send It Above $1.5 Moonchaser emphasizes that their comments do not spread fear or negativity toward XRP. Instead, they want XRP investors to understand the realistic economic structure behind its price movement. XRP’s market position depends on measurable data, not speculation about infinite growth. The economist concludes that this is not FUD—it is simply market reality based on economics. Through this explanation, Moonchaser helps the XRP community see that price growth depends on genuine demand and market behavior, not dreams of capless value. While XRP continues to be an essential player in digital finance, the idea of it reaching $100,000 or surpassing Bitcoin remains far from economic reality. XRP’s price has stabilized after its recent crash and is now making a slow recovery to $2.50 with early signs of renewed strength. The cryptocurrency is now under close observation by traders waiting for the next decisive move. One such observation is an ambitious forecast that has surfaced online, projecting an astronomical rally for XRP. A crypto commentator known as Remi Relief shared a post on the social media platform X, using artificial intelligence to support his claim that XRP could reach as high as $1,700 if it repeats its explosive run from 2017 to 2018. The Analyst’s AI-Backed Projection In his post, Remi Relief revisited XRP’s 2017 rally, noting that the token had surged by about 76,000% rather than the commonly cited 64,000%. He explained that if XRP were to replicate that same level of growth in the current market cycle, its price could reach around $1,700. Related Reading: Analyst Predicts XRP Price Will Hit $1,200 With 50,000% Run Driven By These Factors The image attached to his post, which appears to be an interaction with Grok 3, an artificial intelligence tool, illustrated this calculation by adjusting previous errors in the percentage increase. According to the AI’s analysis, XRP’s 2017 rise from $0.005 to $3.84 represented an actual gain of about 76,700%. When this growth rate is applied to XRP’s present market value, the resulting projection points to an estimated price of $1,697.27, rather than the previously calculated figure of $1,414.40. Grok concluded that although earlier projections contained mathematical inaccuracies, the underlying argument that XRP remains capable of another extraordinary price expansion fits within the speculative nature of crypto price projections. Taking this correction into account, Remi Relief revised his earlier outlook, abandoning his initial $1,200 target and adopting the higher $1,700 estimate as a more accurate reflection of what a repeat of XRP’s 2017 to 2018 rally could achieve for its current price. The Fine Line Between Optimism And Reality The crypto market that witnessed XRP’s rise in 2017 was an entirely different one from what exists today. Back then, the industry was still in its experimental phase, and investments were mostly due to hype and unregulated enthusiasm. To replicate that same magnitude of rally now, XRP would need capital inflows on a scale that is greater than anything the crypto market has ever witnessed. An XRP price of $1,700, given its current circulating supply of around 59.97 billion tokens, would translate to a market cap exceeding $101 trillion. This is an astronomical figure that surpasses the combined value of the entire world’s GDP. At the time of writing, XRP is trading at $2.47, up by 5.9% in the past 24 hours. XRP is trading at a critical juncture, struggling to hold support below the $2.5 mark after weeks of heavy selling pressure. Bulls are finding it increasingly difficult to regain control, and overall sentiment across the market remains weak following sharp declines in major altcoins. Yet, some analysts argue that this exhaustion phase could represent a local bottom — a setup that historically precedes strong rebounds in XRP’s price. Related Reading: Bitcoin Bulls Rely on STH Realized Price Support Cluster: Loss Could Trigger $100K Retest According to data shared by CryptoQuant analyst CryptoOnchain, the XRP Ledger’s decentralized exchange (DEX) has shown a striking divergence between price and activity. Between October 8th and 17th, as XRP’s price plunged from around $3.0 to $2.3, DEX trading volume spiked to a multi-month high. This surge in activity, highlighted in the greyed-out region of the chart, signals that despite price weakness, on-chain engagement remains robust. This type of divergence often sparks debate among traders — it can either indicate capitulation, where sellers are finally giving up, or accumulation, where larger players quietly enter the market. With DEX activity heating up while price stagnates, the coming days could be decisive for XRP’s next move, as traders watch closely for signs of a potential reversal. Price-Volume Divergence Signals a Market Turning Point CryptoQuant analyst CryptoOnchain highlights that the recent divergence between XRP’s price and DEX volume can be interpreted in two opposite but crucial ways. The first is Capitulation and Selling Pressure, a bearish scenario where the surge in trading volume during a price decline reflects panic selling. In this case, the spike in activity represents a rush to exit — the capitulation of short-term holders and traders unwilling to hold through further losses. Historically, such events confirm strong bearish momentum as sellers dominate the market, often leading to temporary breakdowns before stabilization. On the other hand, the second possibility points to Accumulation by Smart Money. Here, the sharp increase in volume may not signal panic, but rather strategic positioning by large investors or whales taking advantage of discounted prices. While retail participants sell out of fear, long-term players could be absorbing supply, positioning for a potential recovery. This dynamic — the transfer of XRP from “weak hands” to “strong hands” — has historically preceded major reversals. Ultimately, this period underscores a fierce battle between buyers and sellers. Despite the drop in price, the presence of heavy buying interest suggests underlying strength. If demand continues to absorb selling pressure, XRP could be forming a foundation for its next bullish impulse. The $2.3–$2.5 zone now stands as a critical area to watch for signs of accumulation and a potential market rebound. Related Reading: BNB Active Addresses Hit Record 3.6 Million – Analyst Explains Network Growth XRP Attempts to Stabilize After Sharp Sell-Off XRP is showing early signs of stabilization after one of its sharpest corrections of the year. The chart shows that the token rebounded from lows near $2.3, a level that aligns closely with the 100-day moving average — now acting as short-term support. Despite the recovery to around $2.47, the structure remains fragile, with the 50-day moving average trending downward and the price still below the key $2.6–$2.7 resistance zone. This area previously served as strong support before being broken during the recent sell-off, suggesting that it could now act as a barrier for bullish continuation. The broader trend also highlights a significant increase in volatility, reflecting uncertainty among traders. The long lower wick on recent candles indicates that buyers are defending the $2.3 level, but without a clear volume expansion, a sustained reversal remains uncertain.
