Telegram is taking another step toward bridging traditional finance with crypto. Through a new partnership among Wallet in Telegram, xStocks operator Backed, and US-based crypto exchange Kraken, tokenized equities will soon be available directly within the messaging platform. The announcement, made on Wednesday, confirms that users will gain access to tokenized versions of US equities. By leveraging xStocks, which specializes in tokenized assets, and Kraken’s infrastructure, the platform aims to deliver seamless trading of tokenized stocks and ETFs. Users will be able to purchase fractions of these equities in digital form, opening access to markets that are typically less inclusive. This move represents a significant evolution in Telegram’s crypto ecosystem, expanding beyond digital assets into the tokenization of traditional securities. It also underscores the growing role of tokenized finance in making equities more accessible, liquid, and tradable across global markets. With the launch planned for late October, investors are watching closely to see how Telegram’s massive user base responds to this new frontier. Wallet In Telegram Unlocks Tokenized Equities The news was shared by Wallet in Telegram’s chief strategy officer, Halil Mirakhmed, during Token2024 Singapore, highlighting the project’s mission to merge traditional financial markets with Web3 accessibility. At the same event, Max Crown, President & CEO of the TON Foundation, outlined the significance of the move in his keynote at Token2049. He emphasized that the partnership with xStocks, in collaboration with Kraken and Backed, will allow over 100 million Telegram users to access more than 60 tokenized US assets at launch. These will include major names such as Nvidia (NVDA), Tesla (TSLA), and MicroStrategy (MSTR), all backed by a 1:1 collateralization framework to ensure trust and transparency. One of the most notable features of this integration is fractional ownership, which enables users to purchase small portions of high-value stocks that might otherwise remain inaccessible. Trading will also be available 24 hours a day, five days a week, breaking away from the restrictions of traditional US market hours. This flexibility lowers barriers for global investors and represents a major step toward democratizing access to equities. Looking ahead, xStocks is set to become available on the TON blockchain in Q4, further cementing TON’s role as the foundation for Telegram’s growing financial ecosystem. By combining blockchain scalability, tokenization, and Telegram’s massive user base, the initiative has the potential to redefine how millions of people interact with traditional markets. Despite the short-term bounce, the broader trend remains bearish, with TON locked in a prolonged downtrend since peaking above $8.50 in early 2024. Price has consistently posted lower highs and lower lows, signaling persistent selling pressure. The moving averages reinforce this picture. TON remains well below its 50-period (blue), 100-period (green), and 200-period (red) moving averages. The inability to reclaim these levels underscores weak momentum and the dominance of bears in the market. The $3.00 area has become a critical resistance zone; without a decisive break above it, TON risks further sideways or downward action. The Nasdaq has filed a proposed rule change with the SEC to list tokenized stocks, marking a significant integration of blockchain technology into traditional finance (TradFi). Market experts have predicted that XRP is one of the crypto assets that stand to benefit massively from this move. Nasdaq Files To List Tokenized Stocks Nasdaq has filed with the SEC to allow investors to trade tokenized stocks on its platform. The exchange has proposed that these securities could be traded in either their traditional form, without using blockchain technology, or in their tokenized form, utilizing blockchain technology. Furthermore, the platform proposes that shares of these tokenized securities should be traded in the same order book as the traditional ones and with the same execution priority. When the market participant selects the tokenized flag, Nasdaq will then communicate this to The Depository Trust Company, which is in charge of clearing trades. This move means that blockchain networks, such as Ethereum, Solana, and the XRP Ledger (XRPL), could experience increased adoption as companies transition to tokenizing their stocks. Notably, Galaxy Digital, last week, became the first Nasdaq-listed company to tokenize its common stock on Solana. Experts such as Tom Lee have made a case for why Ethereum will be the go-to platform for companies to tokenize their stocks on. Meanwhile, Solana and the XRP Ledger (XRPL) also stand out due to their speed and cost-efficiency. Solana recently passed the Alpenglow upgrade proposal, which will reduce transaction finality. Meanwhile, the XRPL has introduced new compliance amendments, which will incentivize institutions to adopt the network. All Tokenized Assets Will “Route Through XRP” In an X post, Versan Aljarrah, the founder of Black Swan Capitalist, commented on Nasdaq’s filing to list tokenized stocks and declared that all tokenized assets will eventually route and settle through XRP as the bridge currency. He added that this means trillions in value will move on-chain, possibly through the XRP Ledger. Related Reading: Pundit Warns XRP Investors Not To Sell Their Tokens In The Next 3 Months Aljarrah reiterated that all value flows through XRP. Notably, crypto analyst Costa recently predicted that the XRP price could reach $473,214 if 10% of global assets get tokenized on the XRPL. This came as Ripple predicted that 10% of global assets will be tokenized by 2030. Ripple has so far made great strides in its tokenization push, although no notable stock has been tokenized on the XRPL as of yet. However, it is worth noting that Ondo Finance’s tokenized U.S. Treasuries fund is integrated on the XRPL. At the time of writing, the XRP price is trading at around $2.95, down in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap. Featured image from Adobe Stock, chart from Tradingview.com

Ondo Finance, a Layer 1 (L1) blockchain protocol, has recently announced the launch of Ondo Global Markets, designed to enable non-US investors to access over 100 tokenized US stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain. Following this announcement, the price of Ondo’s native token, ONDO, surged over 6% close to the $1 mark after opening the week at $0.86, aligned with the broader crypto market’s correction. Founder Calls Ondo Global Markets A ‘Breakthrough’ According to the protocol’s press release, Ondo Global Markets aims to provide one of the largest gateways for global exposure to US markets, particularly for eligible investors in the Asia-Pacific, African, and Latin American regions. The newly launched platform is now live on the Ethereum blockchain, with plans to expand to other networks, including BNB Chain, Solana (SOL), and Ondo Chain. These tokenized assets are reportedly fully backed by the underlying securities held with US-registered broker-dealers.. Investors will benefit from total economic returns equivalent to those of the underlying stocks, including price fluctuations, dividends, and corporate actions, as each token mirrors the performance of its asset. Nathan Allman, the Founder and CEO of Ondo Finance, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “Ondo Global Markets is a breakthrough in financial access.” He emphasized that the platform allows global investors to tap into the largest selection of transferable tokenized US stocks and exchange-traded funds on-chain, drawing a parallel to how stablecoins have introduced the US dollar into the digital realm. Bridging Traditional Assets And Blockchain Technology A spokesperson for Ondo Finance highlighted the similarities between tokenized stocks and USD-pegged stablecoins, noting that the former provides the same total-return exposure as their underlying assets: Tokenizing the US dollar created an entirely new level of global reach and usability for dollars. Similarly, tokenized Treasuries have exploded in adoption, growing over 7,000% since 2023, because they meet real needs: 24/7 access to US dollar-denominated assets, and the ability to hold a stablecoin with yield. Ondo was one of the first movers here and continues to lead this space, with over $1.4B in TVL across 10 chains. When writing, ONDO trades at $0.96, being one of the few tokens recording gains in all time frames. However, despite the cryptocurrency’s 60% growth year-to-date, it still trades 54% below its $2 record price. Featured image from DALL-E, chart from TradingView.com
