On-chain data shows the XRP whales have gone on a 71 million coin buying spree over the past week even as the asset’s price has dropped. XRP Whales Have Increased Holdings Recently In a new post on X, analyst Ali Martinez has talked about the latest trend in the supply held by whales on the XRP network. “Whales” refer to the entities holding a considerable amount of the asset in their wallet balance. Related Reading: Bitcoin $78,000 Rebound Fizzles As Coinbase Premium Stays Red These investors can carry some degree of influence in the market thanks to their large holdings, so their behavior can often be worth keeping an eye on. The moves made by the whales may not always directly impact the asset, but they can still be revealing about the sentiment present among them. There are many ways to track the behavior of the whales, with one such being through their holdings. Below is the chart shared by Martinez that shows the trend in the supply of the large XRP holders. As is visible in the graph, the XRP whales have expanded their holdings recently. More specifically, these humongous investors have added more than 71 million tokens of the cryptocurrency (worth around $97.8 million right now) to their supply over the past week. This accumulation spree from the whales has interestingly arrived while the asset’s price has gone down by over 8% within the same window. Considering this timing, it’s possible that the big-money hands are looking at the dip as a lucrative opportunity to buy more of XRP. It only remains to be seen, though, whether this bet from the whales will pay off. In some other news, XRP may be gearing up for a volatile move, as the analyst has highlighted in another X post. The indicator cited by Martinez is the Bollinger Bands, a tool that’s generally used for measuring the volatility of an asset. Related Reading: Bitcoin ETF Inflows Are Underperforming In 2026, Data Shows There are three bands in the indicator: a 20-day moving average (MA) central line and two levels on either side of it corresponding to certain standard deviations up and down. From the chart, it’s visible that the Bollinger Bands have squeezed around the 3-day XRP price recently. This suggests that the cryptocurrency has been experiencing stale price action. According to the analyst, the current squeeze in the metric is the tightest one in over a year. “When volatility compresses this tightly, it’s a signal that a violent price expansion is approaching,” noted Martinez. XRP Price XRP briefly breached the $0.54 mark one week ago, but the coin has since seen a notable drawdown as its price has returned to $1.37. Featured image from Dall-E, chart from TradingView.com

XRP’s largest holders have pushed their combined balances to the highest level in nearly eight years, according to on-chain analytics firm Santiment, as the token tests the upper end of a recent trading range near $1.50. Santiment said wallets holding at least 10 million XRP now control 45.83 billion tokens, valued at roughly $68.5 billion based on the price level referenced in its update. The firm described the move as a whale-led push, noting that those wallets now hold 68.5% of XRP’s supply. “XRP is teasing a $1.50 market value, and whale wallets are leading the charge,” Santiment wrote on X. “Wallets with at least 10M XRP now hold a combined 45.83B XRP tokens ($68.5B USD), the most they’ve held since May, 2018. This translates to 68.5% of the coin’s supply.” Why This Is A Crucial Moment For XRP Price The $1.50 area has drawn additional attention because it lines up with a key technical zone on the daily chart. Crypto analyst Cheds Trading described the move as an “XRP bounce into range peak on daily,” alongside a chart showing price pressing into the upper boundary of a multi-month consolidation range. This means the current move is not only about whale balance growth. XRP has rebounded from a lower support zone and is now trading into a region where prior rallies stalled. A decisive move through that area would change the near-term structure; failure there would reinforce the range that has contained the asset since the sharp sell-off earlier in the year. Related Reading: XRP Is Quietly Taking Over And These Are The Things That Investors Keep Missing Santiment’s broader wallet data adds another layer to the whale accumulation story. In a separate May 13 update, the firm said the XRP Ledger had reached an all-time high of 332,230 wallets holding at least 10,000 XRP. According to Santiment, that count has been in a consistent growth trend since June 2024. “The continued rise in XRP Ledger wallets holding at least 10,000 XRP is an important long-term signal because it shows that larger holders have kept accumulating even during periods of volatility and uncertainty,” Santiment wrote. “Historically, rising numbers of mid-to-large wallets suggest increasing conviction from investors who are less focused on short-term price swings and more interested in long-term positioning.” Santiment also highlighted the context behind the trend. XRP has spent much of 2026 trading below previous highs, meaning the rise in larger holder cohorts has occurred during periods when momentum was not uniformly supportive. The firm framed that as evidence of accumulation during weaker market conditions rather than a simple reaction to upside volatility. Related Reading: XRP Ledger Hits Record High In 10K+ Wallets As Larger Holders Accumulate There was one notable interruption. Santiment said the number of wallets holding at least 10,000 XRP dropped by more than 4,500 between February 6 and February 8. The firm said there was no confirmed XRP-specific event directly tied to that decline, but added that the timing “strongly suggests” it was connected to the broader crypto crash and liquidations on February 5. Since then, the growth in 10,000-plus XRP wallets has exceeded the pre-drop level, according to Santiment. That recovery is central to the bullish interpretation of the data: larger holders appear to have rebuilt and expanded their positions after the liquidation-driven reset. The immediate market question is whether whale accumulation can coincide with a clean break above the range peak near $1.50. Santiment’s data points to rising concentration among the largest wallets and continued growth in mid-to-large XRP holders. At press time, XRP traded at $1.469. XRP is trading above $1.41 as the market enters what feels like a decisive phase — a consolidation that has been building long enough that the next directional move is increasingly difficult to delay. The price is constructive, and an Arab Chain report tracking whale behavior on Binance has just identified a shift in large holder activity that adds a specific structural dimension to the current setup. Related Reading: Retail Capitulation Hits AAVE, But Smart Money Starts Positioning: Here The Post-Crisis Market Structure The report begins with the March picture, which serves as the alarming baseline. At the beginning of March, 30-day cumulative whale inflows to Binance reached 2.6 billion XRP — a level of large holder activity that reflected significant movement toward the exchange platform. In on-chain analysis, whale inflows of that scale to centralized exchanges carry a specific implication: when the biggest holders move large amounts to trading platforms, the likelihood of selling or repositioning increases meaningfully. The exchange is where selling happens. Inflows of 2.6 billion XRP from major holders created a supply overhead that the market had to absorb. That was March. The Arab Chain report’s more significant finding is what has happened since, because the shift from that 2.6 billion baseline to the current reading is the data point that changes how XRP’s current price level should be interpreted. From 2.6 Billion to 736 Million. The Biggest Sellers Have Nearly Left the Building. The Arab Chain report’s forward signal is contained in the direction and magnitude of what followed the March peak. The 30-day cumulative whale inflow indicator has been declining gradually and steadily since then, reaching approximately 736 million XRP — its lowest reading since November 2021. From 2.6 billion to 736 million in a matter of weeks represents a 72% reduction in the primary channel through which large-scale XRP selling reaches the market. The report identifies two possible explanations for that behavioral shift, and both carry constructive implications. The first is reduced selling intent — whales are simply less inclined to sell at current levels and are choosing to hold their XRP off-exchange rather than position for distribution. The second is caution and anticipation — major investors are watching the market’s direction carefully before committing to any significant repositioning, which keeps their coins away from exchanges in the meantime. The continued decline through the volatility of recent weeks adds weight to both interpretations. If whale inflows had been declining simply because markets were quiet, volatility would have reversed them. They kept falling regardless, which suggests the behavioral shift is deliberate rather than circumstantial. The forward condition the report identifies is specific. If inflows remain at these historically low levels while demand improves and price stabilizes around the current level, XRP has the structural conditions to build a stronger price base. The largest source of selling pressure has retreated. What replaces it on the demand side will determine how durable that base becomes. Related Reading: Bitcoin Reclaims $80K, And $93K Comes Into Focus — Discover The CME Gap Setup XRP Compresses Below Resistance As Range Tightens XRP continues to consolidate around the $1.40–$1.42 region, maintaining a tight range after the sharp capitulation event in February. That move reset the broader structure, and since then, the price has transitioned into a prolonged sideways phase marked by reduced volatility and increasingly compressed price action. This type of behavior typically reflects equilibrium between buyers and sellers, but it also tends to precede expansion. From a structural perspective, XRP remains below all major moving averages. The 50-day is flattening and acting as immediate resistance, while the 100-day and 200-day continue trending downward above price. This alignment confirms that the broader trend has not yet shifted bullish, even as short-term momentum stabilizes. Related Reading: Ethereum Withdrawals From Exchanges Just Hit An 8-Month Low: Find Out What Investors Are Waiting For What has changed is the downside behavior. Selling pressure has clearly weakened, with repeated dips toward the $1.30–$1.35 zone being absorbed consistently. Buyers are stepping in earlier, preventing deeper retracements and forming a subtle sequence of higher lows within the range. Volume supports the compression narrative. Participation has declined compared to the selloff phase, indicating that the market is waiting for a catalyst rather than actively positioning. A break above $1.45 would mark the first structural shift toward a recovery. Until then, XRP remains coiled within a tightening range. Featured image from ChatGPT, chart from TradingView.com

XRP’s short-term setup is facing renewed pressure after a sharp burst of exchange inflows to Binance, with on-chain data showing that the move was driven primarily by large holders. The spike matters because it points to a sudden increase in potential sell-side supply at a time when broader market momentum remains weak. CryptoQuant contributor Darkfost flagged the move in a post on X today, tying the development to a softer backdrop for altcoins while Bitcoin remains rangebound. “BTC continues to range, offering limited directional clarity in the short term. This lack of momentum is weighing on the broader market, with altcoins continuing to underperform in the absence of a clear trend,” Darkfost wrote. Are XRP Whales Selling? That context is important for XRP. In a market with limited follow-through, large exchange deposits can carry more weight than they would during a strong risk-on phase, especially when the flows are concentrated in whale-sized cohorts. The chart shared by Darkfost, titled “XRP Ledger: Exchange Inflow – Value Bands – Binance,” shows a clear outlier on Feb. 21. Total inflows jump to more than 31 million XRP, far above the surrounding days in the Feb. 15–23 window, with the stacked bars dominated by the 100k–1M XRP and >1M XRP cohorts. Related Reading: Mapping Out XRP’s Path To $1,200: Analyst Shares Insights Darkfost summarized the move directly: “This week was notably marked by a significant XRP inflow to Binance, which remains the go-to exchange for large transactions thanks to its deep liquidity. More than 31 million XRP were transferred to the exchange in a single day yesterday.” The chart also suggests this was not a broad-based retail event. Smaller cohorts contributed relatively little to the spike, while large holders accounted for nearly all of the move. That pattern aligns with Darkfost’s central argument that the event raises short-term risk because it represents concentrated, potentially market-moving supply arriving at a highly liquid venue. According to the breakdown shared in the post, the inflows were led by the two largest cohorts: 14,236,825 XRP from wallets in the 100k–1M band and 14,494,865 XRP from whale wallets holding more than 1M XRP. Mid-sized wallets in the 10k–100k range added 2,938,809 XRP, while the sub-10k segments contributed only a small fraction of the total. Related Reading: XRP Ledger Gets x402 Facilitator For AI Agent Payments: Why This Is Bullish Taken together, the distribution reinforces that the event was whale-led rather than diffuse. In practical terms, that matters because large-holder exchange inflows are often watched as a proxy for potential intent to sell, even if inflow alone does not confirm execution. Darkfost framed the risk in dollar terms, writing: “Altogether, this represents a sudden potential sell-side pressure of nearly $45 million that warrants close monitoring. Should this selling pressure persist, XRP may struggle to recover from its ongoing correction in the near term.” The price line overlaid on the chart shows XRP trading lower across much of the same period, sliding from the upper end of the displayed range around Feb. 15–16 before bottoming near Feb. 19 and only modestly rebounding afterward. By the time the large Feb. 21 inflow hit Binance, price had recovered somewhat but remained below earlier levels in the week. However, the rebound was completely erased during the early European morning session, as XRP fell to as low as $1.33. At press time, XRP traded at $1.3947. XRP Ledger whale activity spiked sharply at the start of the week, with on-chain data provider Santiment flagging a surge in large-value transfers that pushed the network to its highest $100,000+ transaction count in roughly three months, a setup the firm says typically coincides with elevated volatility. XRP Whales Are Waking Up Again “XRP Ledger has seen a major increase in whale transactions (moved valued at $100K or more on the network),” Santiment wrote in a post on Wednesday via X alongside a Sanbase chart. “Monday saw 2,170 of them, and yesterday shot all the way up to 2,802 (a 3-month high). Volatility should be higher than usual.” The chart, labeled “XRP $1M+ & $100K+ Whale Transactions Per Day,” highlights two specific data points for the $100K+ threshold: 2,170 transactions on Jan. 5, 2026 and 2,802 transactions on Jan. 6, 2026. The Jan. 6 print is marked as the local peak and, per Santiment’s commentary, the strongest reading in approximately three months, the highest shown since the infamous October 10 liquidation event. Related Reading: XRP Rally Reopens The $8–$12 Zone Debate, Says Will Taylor While Santiment’s post spotlights $100K+ transfers, the chart also tracks $1 million-plus whale transactions. That series suggests large-holder activity picked up across multiple size bands into the early-January move, with $1 million transactions pushing to a one-month high, the strongest reading since early December. The jump stands out because $1 million-plus activity appears to have been comparatively muted through most of December, especially when set against the mid-October to November stretch, when the chart shows more frequent days with higher counts. Related Reading: XRP Sees Back-to-Back Liquidation Waves: Binance Absorbs Majority Of Liquidations In practical market terms, traders tend to watch bursts in large on-chain transfers for what they might represent rather than treating the raw counts as a directional signal. Spikes can reflect accumulation or distribution, internal treasury movements by large entities, exchange-related transfers, or positioning around liquidity events. What they often share is mechanical impact: when large holders move size, the probability of sharper intraday swings tends to increase, particularly if that activity persists over multiple sessions. XRP Also Re-Enters The Social ‘Trending’ Set The whale-transaction alert landed alongside a separate Santiment update that placed XRP among the assets seeing the biggest jumps in discussion across social channels. In that post, Santiment grouped XRP with Solana, Ethereum, Bitcoin, MicroStrategy, and Litecoin as the day’s top “trending” tickers by changes in conversation volume for Wednesday. For XRP specifically, Santiment said the discussion mix leaned heavily institutional in tone: ETF flows, “record-breaking net assets,” and the idea of XRP as a high-beta trade into 2025–2026 narratives while also referencing perceived regulatory clarity after the SEC case resolution and use cases such as bridge activity for stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets. Those claims were presented as themes circulating in social chatter rather than as independently verified developments in the post itself. At press time, XRP traded at $2.127. A cryptocurrency analyst has explained how XRP could be at risk of a drop toward $0.80 based on the data of some on-chain indicators. XRP Has Seen Bearish Developments In On-Chain Data In a new thread on X, analyst Ali Martinez has talked about why XRP may be at risk of seeing a decline to the $0.80 level. “First, network activity has cooled sharply,” noted Martinez. There are many ways to gauge network activity, but the analyst has used the Active Addresses on-chain indicator. Related Reading: Bitcoin Coinbase Premium At Rare Discount As US Demand Weakens This metric keeps track of the total number of addresses that are taking part in some kind of transaction activity on the blockchain every day. A chart shared by the analyst earlier showed a drawdown in this metric for XRP. Generally, a decline in the metric is a sign of a drop in interest around the asset. “Daily active addresses have fallen to roughly 38,500, pointing to fading participation and interest,” said Martinez. Another on-chain indicator has also shown a development recently: the supply held by the whales. Whales refer to the big-money investors of the market who carry significant amounts in their wallets. As the below chart shows, these investors participated in selling of about 40 million tokens recently. Due to the massive size of their holdings, whales are considered to be influential entities on the network, so their behavior could be relevant for the cryptocurrency. As these massive hands have been selling on the XRP blockchain recently, it’s possible that the coin could feel a bearish effect. If nothing else, the trend reflects that the asset’s key investors are showing weaker confidence. Finally, the analyst has shared a chart for the cryptocurrency’s UTXO Realized Price Distribution (URPD). This indicator basically tells us about the amount of supply that investors last purchased at the various price levels that the coin has visited in its history. From the chart, it’s visible that a notable amount of supply has its cost basis at the $1.77 level, which isn’t too far below the current XRP spot price. It’s possible that if the asset retests this level, these investors who purchased there could show some kind of reaction. When the market mood is bullish, this reaction tends to be dominated by buying. Given the current sentiment in the digital asset sector, however, the support may not be sufficient. “If selling pressure continues, XRP risks losing the $1.77 support,” explained Martinez. “A breakdown there opens the door to the next major support zone near $0.80.” Related Reading: Bitcoin Retail Optimism Returns To End 2025—What Usually Follows? On-chain data shows the XRP whales have distributed a significant amount during the past week, a sign of negative sentiment among large holders. XRP Whales Have Shed 510 Million Tokens From Their Holdings As announced by analyst Ali Martinez in a new post on X, XRP whales have participated in a notable amount of selling recently. A “whale” is typically defined as an XRP investor holding between 1 million and 10 million tokens. At the current exchange rate of the cryptocurrency, this range converts to $2 million at the lower end and $20 million at the upper one. Related Reading: This 11.7 Billion Dogecoin Wall Could Be Key Resistance For DOGE, Analyst Says Given the size of the range, the only investors who would qualify for the cohort would be the big-money hands. These holders can carry some influence in the market, making the group a key one for the network. Now, here is the chart from on-chain analytics firm Santiment shared by Martinez that shows how the supply of the XRP whales has changed over the last few months: As displayed in the above graph, the XRP whale supply has been following a downtrend since mid-November, indicating that the large holders have been distributing. The trend has continued during the past week, with entities belonging to the group collectively selling 510 million coins, worth more than $2 billion at the latest price. At the same time as the selloff over the last few weeks, XRP has witnessed some net bearish price action, implying that the whales may have had a role to play in it. Given that these humongous entities haven’t shown any signs of slowing down recently, it’s possible that the coin could see a further drop. It only remains to be seen, however, how whale behavior will develop in the coming days. In some other news, XRP could be set up for a 16% move according to a technical analysis (TA) pattern, as Martinez has pointed out in another X post. From the chart, it’s visible that XRP has roughly been traveling inside a Symmetrical Triangle on the 1-hour timeframe since November. A Symmetrical Triangle is a consolidation channel that involves two converging trendlines approaching each other at an equal and opposite slope. The coin is already more than halfway through the channel, meaning that its range is getting narrow. A narrower range means retests of the support and resistance levels become more frequent, making either more probable. Related Reading: Bitcoin Market Structure Echoes 2022 Bear Start, Glassnode Warns Based on the height of the channel, the analyst has noted that a breakout could lead to a 16% move for XRP. XRP continues to face pressure as bulls struggle to push the price back above key resistance levels. After weeks of declines, market sentiment remains fragile, with many traders questioning whether the altcoin can find solid footing. However, some analysts still see potential upside — provided XRP manages to reclaim higher levels and attract renewed buying interest. Related Reading: The Bitcoin OG Is Back – Opens Massive Short After $30M USDC Deposit Fresh data from CryptoQuant sheds light on an important dynamic unfolding behind the scenes. Since the beginning of October, a clear shift has emerged in the behavior of XRP whales. According to the Whale-to-Exchange Flow chart for Binance, a surge in large deposits began on October 1st and persisted until October 17th, marking one of the most active periods of whale movement this year. This pattern typically signals mounting selling pressure, as large holders transfer assets to exchanges either to take profits or manage risk. Yet, for some analysts, these flows may also indicate repositioning — whales preparing for the next major move once volatility subsides. With on-chain activity rising and price volatility tightening, XRP now finds itself at a pivotal point where the next breakout — or breakdown — could define the rest of October’s trend. XRP Whale Activity Signals Selling Pressure According to insights by CryptoOnchain, the surge in XRP whale activity reached its peak on October 11th, when Whale-to-Exchange Transactions climbed to nearly 43,000 — one of the highest levels recorded this year. Such a sharp rise in inflows to centralized exchanges like Binance typically signals mounting selling pressure, as large holders prepare to liquidate positions, secure profits, or hedge against further downside risk. This wave of whale transfers aligns closely with the broader price trend. Since early October, XRP’s market structure has weakened, confirming that these on-chain movements were not random but rather part of a larger distribution phase. When comparing data, the timing is striking: the escalation in exchange deposits directly corresponds with a sharp price drop from above 3.0 to roughly 2.3, underscoring the weight of institutional or high-net-worth selling. Such coordinated behavior among large holders often sets the tone for short-term market direction. Historically, heavy whale inflows tend to precede local bottoms, as the liquidity created by sell pressure eventually attracts new buyers. However, for now, this pattern reinforces caution — suggesting that XRP remains under pressure until the outflow-to-inflow ratio flips back in favor of accumulation. If selling eases and outflows rise again, it could mark the early stages of stabilization. Until then, whale behavior remains a key signal to watch, especially as the asset attempts to recover from one of its steepest declines in recent months. Related Reading: XRP DEX Volumes Surge As Price Plunges: Smart Money Accumulating? The recent bounce from the $2.30 support zone suggests that buyers are attempting to defend this key level, but the broader structure remains fragile. The chart shows that XRP continues to trade below its 50-day and 100-day moving averages, signaling that the short- to mid-term trend remains bearish. The price failed to reclaim the $2.60–$2.70 resistance range, which now acts as a major supply zone following the sharp decline from early October highs near $3.0. The 200-day moving average, currently hovering around $2.55, is also capping upside momentum, reinforcing the difficulty for bulls to regain control. Related Reading: Bitcoin Bulls Rely on STH Realized Price Support Cluster: Loss Could Trigger $100K Retest If XRP closes above $2.60, it could open the door for a retest of $2.90. Overall, XRP remains in a delicate position — oscillating between potential recovery and further downside risk. The coming sessions will be decisive, as price action consolidates under heavy whale-driven selling pressure and uncertain sentiment. Featured image from ChatGPT, chart from TradingView.com

XRP is trading at a critical juncture, struggling to hold support below the $2.5 mark after weeks of heavy selling pressure. Bulls are finding it increasingly difficult to regain control, and overall sentiment across the market remains weak following sharp declines in major altcoins. Yet, some analysts argue that this exhaustion phase could represent a local bottom — a setup that historically precedes strong rebounds in XRP’s price. Related Reading: Bitcoin Bulls Rely on STH Realized Price Support Cluster: Loss Could Trigger $100K Retest According to data shared by CryptoQuant analyst CryptoOnchain, the XRP Ledger’s decentralized exchange (DEX) has shown a striking divergence between price and activity. Between October 8th and 17th, as XRP’s price plunged from around $3.0 to $2.3, DEX trading volume spiked to a multi-month high. This surge in activity, highlighted in the greyed-out region of the chart, signals that despite price weakness, on-chain engagement remains robust. This type of divergence often sparks debate among traders — it can either indicate capitulation, where sellers are finally giving up, or accumulation, where larger players quietly enter the market. With DEX activity heating up while price stagnates, the coming days could be decisive for XRP’s next move, as traders watch closely for signs of a potential reversal. Price-Volume Divergence Signals a Market Turning Point CryptoQuant analyst CryptoOnchain highlights that the recent divergence between XRP’s price and DEX volume can be interpreted in two opposite but crucial ways. The first is Capitulation and Selling Pressure, a bearish scenario where the surge in trading volume during a price decline reflects panic selling. In this case, the spike in activity represents a rush to exit — the capitulation of short-term holders and traders unwilling to hold through further losses. Historically, such events confirm strong bearish momentum as sellers dominate the market, often leading to temporary breakdowns before stabilization. On the other hand, the second possibility points to Accumulation by Smart Money. Here, the sharp increase in volume may not signal panic, but rather strategic positioning by large investors or whales taking advantage of discounted prices. While retail participants sell out of fear, long-term players could be absorbing supply, positioning for a potential recovery. This dynamic — the transfer of XRP from “weak hands” to “strong hands” — has historically preceded major reversals. Ultimately, this period underscores a fierce battle between buyers and sellers. Despite the drop in price, the presence of heavy buying interest suggests underlying strength. If demand continues to absorb selling pressure, XRP could be forming a foundation for its next bullish impulse. The $2.3–$2.5 zone now stands as a critical area to watch for signs of accumulation and a potential market rebound. Related Reading: BNB Active Addresses Hit Record 3.6 Million – Analyst Explains Network Growth XRP Attempts to Stabilize After Sharp Sell-Off XRP is showing early signs of stabilization after one of its sharpest corrections of the year. The chart shows that the token rebounded from lows near $2.3, a level that aligns closely with the 100-day moving average — now acting as short-term support. Despite the recovery to around $2.47, the structure remains fragile, with the 50-day moving average trending downward and the price still below the key $2.6–$2.7 resistance zone. This area previously served as strong support before being broken during the recent sell-off, suggesting that it could now act as a barrier for bullish continuation. The broader trend also highlights a significant increase in volatility, reflecting uncertainty among traders. The long lower wick on recent candles indicates that buyers are defending the $2.3 level, but without a clear volume expansion, a sustained reversal remains uncertain. On-chain data shows the 30-day netflow of the XRP whales has remained deep negative recently, a sign that the asset is under persistent selling pressure. XRP Whale Flow Is At A Negative $50 Million Per Day At The Moment As explained by CryptoQuant community analyst Maartunn in a new post on X, XRP whales have been offloading coins recently. “Whales” refer to the big-money investors who hold significant amounts in their wallets and carry some influence in the market. The behavior of these key investors can often be worth keeping an eye on, as even if it may not always directly correlate with the asset’s trajectory, it can still be revealing about how the influential entities are feeling about the cryptocurrency. Related Reading: Bitcoin Investors Pivoting To Accumulation, But Mega Whales Are Still Selling There are many ways to track the behavior of the XRP whales, with one such being the metric cited by Maartunn: the Whale Flow. This indicator measures the net amount of coins that’s entering into or exiting out of the wallets of this cohort. Below is the chart shared by the analyst that shows the trend in the 30-day moving average (MA) of the XRP Whale Flow over the last few years: As is visible in the above graph, the 30-day MA XRP Whale Flow plunged to a highly negative value in July as the coin reached its top above $3.6. This suggests that the large holders took the opportunity of the rally to participate in profit-taking. Interestingly, since this plummet in the indicator, its value has remained at a similarly red value until today, meaning that the whales have only continued to apply selling pressure. At present, the metric is sitting at a negative value of $50 million per day, meaning that whales have been withdrawing an average of $50 million every day for the past month. This could be a reason why the cryptocurrency hasn’t seen any big rally recently, while Bitcoin and other coins have been flying. In some other news, analyst Ali Martinez has identified a price level that could help turn XRP around. As the below chart shared by Martinez in an X post shows, the coin has seemingly been trading inside a Parallel Channel over the last couple of months. A Parallel Channel is a technical analysis (TA) consolidation pattern that forms when an asset trades between two parallel trendlines. The lower level of the pattern acts as a support line. An alarming pattern of XRP whale activity has been noted, posing several questions about the sustainability of the cryptocurrency’s growth. Among the multiple questions currently being asked, one is more demanding of an immediate response: Is an XRP whale sell-off on its way? XRP Supply Surges Across Major Exchanges In an October 3rd post on the social media platform X, market analyst CryptoOnchain highlighted a recent shift in the behavior of XRP’s largest holders, the whales.  The online pundit’s report was based on the Exchange Supply Ratio indicator, which tracks the proportion of XRP tokens on exchanges relative to its total circulating supply.  Related Reading: Bitcoin STH Exchange Inflows Hit $5.7B: Profit-Taking Already Underway? This metric can be used to derive insights on potential selling pressure for a crypto asset (XRP, in this case), seeing as higher values would suggest increased availability of tokens on the exchange for sale.  According to CryptoOnchain, there has been a spike in XRP supply across major exchanges, suggesting that whales might be positioning for a significant sell-off. The data shared reflects the increase in selling pressure across these exchanges, including Bithumb, Bitget, Bitfinex, and Binance, putting the XRP price at an increased risk of a sharp correction. XRP Displays Bearish Divergence As Sellers Dominate Futures Market  In a separate post made on the CryptoQuant platform, CryptoOnchain also revealed a budding negative divergence across the XRP futures market.  The relevant indicator here is the Taker Buy Sell Ratio metric, which monitors the balance between aggressive buy and sell orders in the futures market. This metric is typically used to assess whether buyers or sellers are dominating the market in the short term. The analyst noted that while the price of XRP has been mostly around $3 after its recent rise, the ‘Taker Ratio’ across exchanges has fallen to its lowest level since November 2024. Interestingly, data from Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, further supports this bearish signal, as patterns similar to those seen on other exchanges have also been surfacing.  Related Reading: Ethereum Matches Bitcoin In Annual Gains: What This Means For The Market CryptoOnchain explained that this situation could either mean that the market participants are booking profits or anticipating a price decline in the near future. However, the spike in XRP supply across major crypto exchanges, alongside the clear dominance of sellers in the perpetual futures market, strongly suggests the imminence of a price correction. It is therefore advisable to watch the psychological $3 level closely before market decisions are made. As of this writing, XRP is hovering around the $3 mark, reflecting a nearly 2% decline in the past 24 hours. Featured image from iStock, chart from TradingView

On-chain data shows the XRP whales have participated in major distribution over the past two weeks, a sign that can be bearish for the asset’s price. XRP Whales Have Sold 160 Million Tokens Recently In a new post on X, analyst Ali Martinez has talked about the latest move from the XRP whales. The analyst has cited Santiment’s Supply Distribution indicator, which measures the total amount of the asset’s supply that a given wallet group as a whole is holding right now. Whales are defined as addresses carrying between 1 million and 10 million tokens of the cryptocurrency. At the current exchange rate, the range converts to about $2.99 million at the lower end and $29.9 million at the upper end. Thus, only the market participants with a substantial amount of capital fall in this range. Related Reading: Analyst Sets Bold $1,314 Target For Solana After Cup-And-Handle Breakout These large investors can carry some degree of influence in the market, so their movements can be worth keeping an eye on. One way to do so is through the Supply Distribution. Now, here is the chart shared by the analyst that shows the trend in the Supply Distribution of the 1 million to 10 million XRP group over the last few months: As displayed in the above graph, the XRP whales took their supply to a high earlier in the month, but since then, these holders have participated in selling. Interestingly, most of this distribution came as the asset’s rally to the $3.1 level took place. This timing would imply that the whales were using the price surge as an opportunity to take profits and exit from the market. In total, these humongous entities have offloaded 160 million tokens of the cryptocurrency over the last couple of weeks, worth a whopping $486 million right now. The coin has declined since its high, and if selling from the whales continues, it’s possible that the drawdown may extend. From a technical perspective, however, XRP may actually be near a rebound, as Martinez has pointed out in another X post. Once nine candles are in, it signals that the earlier trend is over and a reversal may be about to occur. From the above chart, it’s visible that XRP has formed a TD Sequential signal with nine red candles on its 4-hour chart, suggesting a bullish turnaround could potentially take place next. A fresh readout of CryptoQuant’s “Whale Flow (30-day moving average)” for the XRP Ledger points to renewed distribution by large holders, according to on-chain analyst Maartunn. Sharing the chart, he summed up the signal on X: “????XRP Whales are selling heavily. It’s clear distribution. On-chain data tells the story. In data, we trust.” XRP Whales Unload Millions The dataset decomposes large-holder activity into positive and negative whale flow and smooths it with a 30-day average to reduce noise. On the latest print, the histogram is dominated by deep, sustained negative bars, signaling net outflows from whale cohorts rather than accumulation. Related Reading: Pundit Warns XRP And Crypto Investors Of Possible Billions Of Dollars In Losses If They Don’t Do This The timing aligns with price behavior: after XRP vaulted above $1 in late December 2024 and accelerated toward roughly $3.40 by mid-January 2025, the 30-DMA of whale flow flipped decisively negative. Through February–March 2025 the negative leg deepened, with the smoothed net flow bottoming around approximately −60 million to −70 million XRP, a trough among the most pronounced on the multi-year chart. That heavy distribution abated only briefly. From April through June 2025 the whale-flow 30-DMA turned positive for about three months, topping in the vicinity of +10 million to +20 million XRP. Importantly, that respite coincided with a cooler tape: price slid below $2.00 in April, then oscillated largely between ~$2.00 and a ~$2.60 ceiling into late June. As soon as XRP reclaimed roughly $2.60 in mid-July, the negative histogram returned, and by August the smoothed net flow had retreated again toward approximately −40 million to −50 million XRP. Price meanwhile ran back above $2.60 in mid-July and spiked to a new high at $3.66 by end of the month. While XRP consolidates near $3, the whale-flow 30-DMA remains firmly negative at roughly −40 million XRP. Two structural takeaways stand out from this sequence. First, the heaviest negative prints in early Q1 2025 clustered immediately after the late-2024/early-2025 breakout from ~$1.00 to above $3.00, consistent with large-balance profit-taking and supply returning to market as price momentum stretched. Related Reading: Crypto Analyst Says XRP Bull Run Hasn’t Begun, Sets Course For $37 Second, the only sustained positive-flow window—April to June—overlapped a period when spot weakened below $2.00 and could not sustain moves beyond ~$2.60, suggesting whales were less inclined to distribute into a soft market and more inclined to add or at least reduce selling pressure during consolidation. The return to sizable negative flow once price pushed back through ~$2.60 in mid-July supports Maartunn’s characterization of renewed “distribution.” As ever, there are caveats. Whale-flow heuristics aggregate transfers from large addresses and cannot perfectly separate exchange internalization, custodian rebalancing, or OTC settlement from directional selling. And a 30-day smoothing window introduces lag: a sharp behavior change by whales will take time to surface. Even so, the breadth and persistence of the negative bars—near −70M/−80M XRP at their Q1 depths, sliding back toward −40M XRP in August—tilt the balance of evidence toward a market still digesting supply from big holders. For now, the on-chain picture is straightforward: large-balance entities remain net suppliers on a smoothed basis. If that regime persists, trend continuation likely demands either a fade in the negative flow back toward neutral/positive or enough external demand to absorb the overhang. As Maartunn put it, “It’s clear distribution… On-chain data tells the story.” At press time, XRP traded at $3.00. Featured image created with DALL.E, chart from TradingView.com

On-chain data shows the XRP whales have transferred significant amounts in the asset during the past day. Here’s where the coins are heading. XRP Whales Have Just Made Two Large Transactions According to data from cryptocurrency transaction tracker service Whale Alert, two massive transfers have been spotted on the XRP blockchain in the last 24 hours. Both of these moves were of a scale that can be associated to the whales, entities that carry significant amounts in their wallets. Due to their size, these investors can hold some degree of influence on the network, so their transfers can be worth keeping an eye on. They may not always directly affect the asset, but they can still sometimes be revealing about the sentiment among the cohort. Related Reading: XRP Breaks Out Of Bull Pennant—Is $15 Now In Sight? That said, it’s only possible to speculate on transactions when they involve at least one wallet that’s identifiable. Cryptocurrency networks are, after all, anonymous by nature, so a lot of transfers don’t hold any meaningful information. The older of the two XRP whale transfers from the past day, which also happens to be the much more massive of the two, was unfortunately of the type with no known addresses. As is visible above, the transfer involved around 200 million XRP, worth a whopping $700.6 million at the time that the move was executed on the blockchain. The transaction occurred between two unknown wallets, meaning that they were likely to have been self-custodial addresses. As mentioned before, it’s hard to infer anything from moves like these, as they can have any underlying reason, ranging from something as simple as a change of wallets to a peer-to-peer (P2P) sale. The second whale transfer for the day, however, was different. Below are the details associated with this move. This transaction, which saw the movement of 16.8 million tokens of the asset (about $58.3 million), had an unknown wallet as the sender, but on its receiving end was an address associated with cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. Moves of this type, where coins flow from a self-custodial wallet to a centralize exchange, are called Exchange Inflows. Generally, holders deposit their coins to these platforms when they want to make use of one of the services that they provide, which can include selling. As such, Exchange Inflows can sometimes prove to be bearish for the cryptocurrency’s price. The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is witnessing increased network activity, which is bullish for its native token’s price. On-chain data also shows that whales are actively accumulating XRP, with the addresses holding one million coins recently reaching a new high.  XRP Ledger Records Massive Growth In Past Week In an X post, on-chain analytics platform Santiment revealed that the XRP Ledger is showing signs of growth, from both a usage and key stakeholder perspective. The platform revealed that there are now over 2,700 whale and shark wallets holding at least 1 million XRP for the first time in the token’s 12-year history.   Related Reading: Is There A “Secret XRP Ledger” And Is The Price Really At $1,000? Additionally, Santiment stated that the number of active XRP addresses has averaged over 295,000 daily over the past week. This is notable as the normal daily average over the past three months was between 35,000 and 40,000. It is worth mentioning that the XRPL recorded some major developments last week.  One is the launch of Circle’s USDC stablecoin on the XRP Ledger. This is expected to boost network activity given the increasing demand for stablecoins. Crypto analyst Moon Lambo predicted that this would increase the total value locked (TVL) on the network. He also noted how this was bullish for the XRP price, since users will need the token for every USDC transaction.  Furthermore, Ondo Finance launched its tokenized US treasury fund (OUSG) on the XRP Ledger last week, which could have also contributed to the surge in network activity. The BlackRock-backed fund will be mintable and redeemable using the RLUSD stablecoin. Meanwhile, Guggenheim also recently partnered with Ripple to launch the first Digital Commercial Paper on the XRPL.  Expert Predicts Price Rally Above $4 Amid the surge in network activity on the XRPL, crypto analyst Javon Marks has predicted that the XRP price could rally above $4 and even reach as high as $8. He stated that the altcoin is holding a clear breakout and is getting ready for a major bullish continuation. Marks added that the targets are at $4.80 and $8, marking new all-time highs (ATHs) for XRP.  Related Reading: These Factors Will Drive XRP Price To $25-$75 In June – Analyst Crypto analyst Dark Defender recently alluded to a previous analysis in which he stated that the XRP price could make a decision within two weeks. The analyst is confident that the altcoin could rally to as high as $6 on this Wave 5 impulsive move to the upside. He has also previously predicted that XRP would reach double digits in this market cycle.  On the other hand, it is worth mentioning that the XRP price has again dropped below the $2.25 level. Crypto analyst CasiTrades had warned that the support levels at $2.01, $1.90, and $1.55 could be in play if the $2.25 level holds as resistance.  At the time of writing, the XRP price is trading at around $2.16, down over 3% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap. On-chain data shows XRP shark and whale population has climbed to a new record alongside a spike in activity on the blockchain. XRP Wallets With 1 Million+ Tokens Have Set A New Record In a new post on X, the on-chain analytics firm Santiment has discussed the latest trend in a couple of indicators related to the XRP network. The first metric of relevance is the “Supply Distribution,” which tells us, among other things, the number of wallets that belong to a particular coin range. Related Reading: Stablecoin Exchange Inflows Plummet $61 Billion—Warning Sign For Bitcoin? In the context of the current topic, the range of interest is above 1 million coins (with the upper bound being infinity). This cutoff for the range converts to about $2.2 million at the current exchange rate, which is quite significant. Naturally, the only investors who would qualify for this threshold would be the big-money ones. Such holders are popularly known as the sharks and whales. Generally, the influence of any entity on the network goes up the more coins that they hold, so this cohort, with its large holdings, can carry some degree of power. As such, the behavior of the sharks and whales can be worth keeping an eye on. If nothing else, it can at least inform us about what the sentiment may be like among these humongous investors. Now, here is the chart shared by Santiment that shows the trend in the Supply Distribution of these 1 million+ holders over the past year: As displayed in the above graph, the XRP Supply Distribution has recently registered an uptick for sharks and whales, implying more wallets carrying above a million coins have popped up on the network. This could be an indication that some new big-money investors have potentially joined the chain. Following the increase, the network now has 2,708 wallets of this size, which is a new record. In the same chart, the analytics firm has also attached the data of the second relevant metric: Daily Active Addresses. This indicator measures the unique total number of wallets that are becoming involved in some kind of transaction activity on the network every day, whether as a sender or receiver. Since the smaller entities like retail massively outweigh the large investors in terms of number, this metric essentially represents the amount of activity that the entities on the smaller end of the network are participating in. From the graph, it’s visible that the XRP Daily Active Addresses have recently observed a large spike. Over the past week, the metric has averaged a value of 295,000 addresses daily, which is a drastic jump over the 35,000 to 40,000 figure witnessed during the last three months. Related Reading: Dogecoin Must Hold This Level—Or Risk A 30% Price Crash “The XRP ledger is showing serious signs of growth, from both a usage and key stakeholder perspective,” notes Santiment. It now remains to be seen what effect, if any, these changes in network metrics would have on the cryptocurrency’s price. XRP is now trading above the $2.35 mark, gaining momentum as bulls aim to break through critical resistance on the way to a potential all-time high. This move comes as the broader crypto market enters a new bullish phase, with Bitcoin soaring past $100K and Ethereum reclaiming the $2,200 zone in a sharp rally. XRP, long viewed as lagging behind majors, now shows notable relative strength compared to other altcoins. Related Reading: Bitcoin Whale Entry Prices Diverge Sharply – Confidence Builds At Higher Levels Analysts are turning their focus to XRP as it attempts to sustain this breakout, with some calling for a rally that could finally close the gap toward previous cycle highs. Supporting the bullish case is new on-chain data from Santiment, revealing that XRP whales have returned aggressively, accumulating over 880 million tokens in the past month alone. This surge in accumulation by large holders suggests growing confidence in XRP’s trajectory and is often a signal that smart money is positioning early ahead of a major move. If current momentum holds and XRP clears its immediate resistance levels, it could be set for a powerful continuation. All eyes are now on the $2.50–$2.80 range, where market dynamics could accelerate rapidly. XRP Builds Strength As Whales Accumulate And Momentum Rises XRP is now standing out as one of the most resilient assets in the crypto market, showing notable strength during recent uptrends and consistent support through broader market corrections. Currently trading above the $2.00 level, XRP is positioned at a critical point where bullish and bearish forces are clashing. The broader market is also heating up, with Bitcoin trading above $100K and Ethereum holding the $2,200 zone after a breakout. XRP’s relative strength, however, is what’s catching the attention of analysts and traders. According to top analyst Ali Martinez, on-chain data reveals that whales have accumulated over 880 million XRP tokens in the past month. This level of accumulation is typically a bullish signal and suggests that large players are positioning themselves ahead of a possible rally. Still, macroeconomic uncertainty lingers in the background. With ongoing trade tensions between the US and China and an increasingly sensitive global financial environment, investor sentiment remains fragile. If Bitcoin holds its ground and altcoin momentum persists, XRP could be one of the top beneficiaries. As XRP continues to trade near a pivotal range, the coming days will be essential in determining the next phase. A decisive move above $2.35 could open the door to a strong upward expansion, while holding support above $2.00 will be crucial to prevent a retracement. Backed by whale activity and growing interest from traders, XRP is once again on the radar as a potential leader in the next leg of the crypto bull cycle. Related Reading: Ethereum Breaks Key Resistance In One Massive Move – Higher High Confirms Momentum Price Tests Breakout Zone As It Pushes Above Resistance XRP is showing promising momentum after breaking above the $2.35 level and now trades at $2.36, signaling renewed bullish strength. This move comes as XRP tests the upper range of a consolidation structure that has been forming since late March. The price action is supported by a consistent uptrend of higher lows, which is now pressing against long-standing resistance. The 200-day SMA ($2.10) and EMA ($2.00) both remain below the current price, reinforcing the strength of the ongoing trend. Volume has increased notably over the past few sessions, a sign that buyers are stepping in with confidence. A decisive daily close above $2.38–$2.40 would confirm a breakout and open the path toward retesting the previous highs around $3.00 and potentially new all-time highs. Conversely, a rejection here could lead to another retest of the ascending trendline around $2.15. XRP is making headlines this month as whale activity surges across the network. In a surprising twist, reports indicate that XRP whales have dumped more than $700 million worth of tokens just this April. This sudden shift in whale behavior raises the question of what these big players are really up to.   XRP Whales Offload 370 Million Tokens In April On April 15, prominent crypto analyst Ali Martínez reported on X (formerly Twitter) that XRP whales have begun dumping the popular cryptocurrency in large volumes. Following a period of substantial token accumulation, these large-scale investors have sold over 370 million XRP since the beginning of April.  Related Reading: Trump-Powered Rally Triggers Heavy Dumping From XRP Whales, Here’s How Much Notably, this massive whale sell-off amounts to over $700 million, triggering a wave of speculation about the intentions behind this move. More interestingly, the XRP dumps appear to align with recent price fluctuations, as whales tend to heavily influence market dynamics, especially during a downturn.  The Santiment chart provided by Martinez reveals a clear trend, from April 3 to 14, 2025, that XRP wallets holding between 100 million to 1 billion tokens have drastically reduced their holdings. As this large-scale whale dumping progressed, the XRP price dropped to new lows around April 8 and then began a steady climb, reaching $2.1 at the time of writing.  While the reason behind such large-scale exits is unclear, a few plausible explanations exist. Whales might be capitalizing on earlier price gains to lock in profits while the market conditions for XRP remain relatively stable. These investors could also be responding to heightened market volatility, pushing them to shift their holdings into alternative assets to hedge risks and safeguard against losses.  Another possibility is that these big players are selling tokens between wallets or transferring them to exchanges in anticipation of a significant event — perhaps the final legal decision between Ripple and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In less optimistic scenarios, such coordinated whale activity, which tends to influence prices, may be indicative of market manipulation, often aimed at achieving strategic gains.  Although it’s uncertain whether the above motives are driving recent whale dumps, one thing is clear: large-scale XRP movements always warrant close attention. With XRP now hovering around $2, the market waits to see just how these sell-offs will influence the future price of the cryptocurrency.  Update On Latest XRP Price Action According to crypto analyst Andrew Griffiths, the current XRP price analysis indicates a notably bullish trend. This momentum emerged after the cryptocurrency surpassed two key resistance levels and established a solid support level, signaling a potential upward movement.  Related Reading: XRP Price Reversal Toward $3.5 In The Works With Short And Long-Term Targets Revealed As a result, the analyst predicts that XRP could record a massive gain of over 20% in the coming weeks. With the token currently trading at $2.10, a 20% increase would bring it to approximately $2.589. Based on the upward trajectory within the Ascending Channel seen on the price chart, the analyst predicts that XRP could climb as high as $3.3. XRP has registered a notable price jump in the last 24 hours as on-chain data shows bullish developments in two key indicators. XRP Has Recently Seen Growth In Active Addresses & Whale Supply In a new post on X, the on-chain analytics firm Santiment has discussed about how two metrics related to XRP have changed recently. The indicators in question are the Supply Distribution of the whales and Active Addresses. First, the “Supply Distribution” measures the number of tokens that investors belonging to a particular group currently hold. Addresses are divided into these cohorts based on the amount of the asset that they are carrying in thire balance. The 1 to 10 coins group, for example, includes all investors who own between 1 and 10 XRP. In the context of the current topic, the whale entities are of interest. The cutoff for this group is defined as 1 million coins, with their being no upper bound to the range. At the current exchange rate, this amount converts to around $2.5 million, so only the large investors would be able to qualify for the cohort. Related Reading: Here’s Where Support & Resistance Lies For Solana, Based On On-Chain Data Now, here is the chart shared by the analytics firm, that shows the trend in the Supply Distribution for these key XRP investors: As displayed in the above graph, the XRP whales have constantly seen their Supply Distribution go up over the past year, implying that the large holders have been accumulating. Despite the recent downturn in the price, the cohort hasn’t broken this trend of buying, as its members have added another 2.82 billion coins to their holdings in the last couple of months, representing an increase of 6.5% for their supply. Following this increase, the 1 million+ coins holders now own 46.4 billion tokens of the cryptocurrency. The continued long-term accumulation from this group is naturally a bullish sign for the asset’s price. In the same chart, Santiment has also attached the data of the second indicator of relevance here: the Active Addresses. This metric keeps track of the total number of XRP addresses that are participating in some kind of transaction activity on the blockchain every day, whether as a sender or receiver. As is apparent from the graph, the XRP Active Addresses has seen a significant boost in this month of March, as the metric’s value has floated at levels approximately six times the ones from January and February. A high value of this indicator can be a sign that the interest around the asset is elevated, which is why more users are coming online to make moves on the network. In particular, the metric represents the activity level of the retail holders, who are large in number and drown out the count of the massive investors like the whales. The XRP market experienced a downbeat end to January translating into a 7.05% loss over the past seven days. In regards to future price movements, popular analyst Egrag Crypto states the altcoin is currently at a key crossroads with an equal chance to move in either a positive or negative direction. Related Reading: Dogecoin Whales Go Ham As They Buy 560 Million DOGE In One Week  XRP Set For Price Breakout, But How High Can It Go? In an X post on February 1, Egrag Crypto explains that XRP’s recent slump has resulted in the asset retesting two crucial levels namely the 21 EMA and and the lowest boundary of a symmetric triangle. The exponential moving average (EMA) is a technical indicator that smoothens out price data over a period of days (i.e. 21 in this case) while giving more weight to recent prices. It is commonly used in trend confirmation with a price dip below the EMA line indicating a bearish trend and vice versa for a bullish trend. On the other hand, a symmetric triangle formed by price movement signals a period of consolidation before a decisive price breakout. With the price of XRP simultaneously hovering near the 21 EMA line and the lower boundary of the symmetric triangle around $2.93, the altcoin presents a rather delicate situation to traders and investors alike. According to Egrag Crypto, further declines for XRP are possible. However, prices are unlikely to fall below $2.83 ( the ascending purple line) which has served as a strong support zone based on historical data. However, based on the sole analysis of the symmetrical triangle, a break below the lower boundary could force XRP to trade as low as $2.40. Alternatively, should XRP break above the upper boundary of the triangle, it could immediately rally to $4. Egrag Crypto warns that both breakout possibilities are equally weighted. Therefore, the XRP market is subject to high levels of volatility over the coming days. Related Reading: Avalanche Forms A Falling Wedge On The Daily Chart – Breakout Target Set At $56 Whales Offload 70 Million XRP In 4 Days In other news, crypto expert Ali Martinez reports that XRP whales are currently on a selling spree having offloaded 70 million XRP, valued at $204.4 million, over the past day. High selling activity especially from whales is a bearish signal that signals uncertainty about the future profitability of an asset. Alternatively, certain long-term holders may be looking to take profit. However, XRP retail investors may expect more price drops in the short term, barring the introduction of significant buying pressure. At press time, XRP trades at $2.93 reflecting a 3.10% decline in the past day. Meanwhile, the asset trading volume is down by 12.60% and valued at $4.06 billion. On-chain data shows the XRP whales have been making a large amount of inflow transactions to Binance recently, a sign that may not be ideal for the asset’s price. XRP Whales Have Made A High Number Of Transactions To Binance Recently As explained by an analyst in a CryptoQuant Qucktake post, the XRP Whale to Exchange Transactions metric has spiked for the cryptocurrency exchange Binance recently. Related Reading: Crypto Liquidations Cross $300 Million As Bitcoin Reclaims $102,000 The “Whale to Exchange Transactions” here is an on-chain metric that keeps track of the total number of transfers that are taking place from whale entities to wallets associated with a given centralized exchange. Whales refer to the largest of investors on the network, who can hold some degree of influence in the market thanks to their huge holdings. As such, this cohort can be worth keeping an eye on. One way to monitor their movements is through the Whale to Exchange Transactions. When the value of this metric is high, it means the whales are making a high number of moves to the platform. As one of the main reasons why investors use exchanges is for selling-related purposes, this kind of trend can be a sign that the large holders are looking to sell. On the other hand, the indicator being low can imply this group isn’t interested in trading away the cryptocurrency as it’s not making too many exchange-related transfers. Now, here is the chart shared by the quant that shows the trend in the 7-day simple moving average (SMA) of the XRP Whale to Exchange Transactions for Binance over the past couple of years: As is visible in the above graph, the 7-day SMA XRP Whale to Exchange Transactions for Binance registered an extremely large value just before the latest price rally beyond the $3.3 mark. So far, XRP has managed to hold around its highs, meaning that the whales may not have yet pulled the trigger on their selling. It only remains to be seen, though, how long these investors would keep sitting on their profits, especially if the cryptocurrency continues its recent trend of sideways movement. XRP Price XRP has been one of the best performers among the top coins by market cap during the past week, with its price noting a surge of more than 38%. While the run started off strong, it has seen a cooldown in the last few days as the asset has seen overall flat consolidation. The below chart shows how the asset’s price has behaved during the past month. Featured image from Dall-E, CryptoQuant.com, chart from TradingView.com

XRP has enjoyed a rally beyond the $3.2 mark as on-chain data shows the cryptocurrency is among the altcoins witnessing the largest whale activity spikes. XRP Whale Transaction Count Has Exploded Recently In a new post on X, the on-chain analytics firm Santiment has shared the list of altcoins that have seen the largest jumps in Whale Transaction Count during the past week. The “Whale Transaction Count” here refers to an indicator that keeps track of the total amount of transfers occurring on a given network that are carrying a value of more than $100,000. Related Reading: Litecoin (LTC) Jumps 19%: What’s Behind The Rally? Only the whale entities are usually capable of moving such large amounts with single transactions, so the metric is assumed to reflect the level of activity in which these humongous investors are participating. When the Whale Transaction Count has a high value, it means the whales are making a large number of moves on the blockchain. Such a trend implies these key holders have a notable interest in trading the asset. On the other hand, the indicator being low suggests that large investors may not be paying much attention to the cryptocurrency as their transactions remain at a low level. Now, here is the table posted by the analytics firm that shows the ranking of the altcoins (with a market cap greater than $500 million) in terms of the percentage increase in the Whale Transaction Count over the past week: As is visible above, there have been seven cryptocurrencies that have witnessed a Whale Transaction Count spike of at least 100% in this period. The altcoin that most stands out on the list, however, is actually in the eighth spot: XRP (XRP). The asset has witnessed around an 81% increase in whale activity during the last seven days, which, while lesser than the others, is still more impressive simply because of the fact that the coin has a much more massive market cap. XRP would already have many whales active on the blockchain, so to still register a growth of this degree would imply an extraordinary rise in transactions in pure numbers. Generally, a high Whale Transaction Count is something that can lead to volatility in an asset’s price. The emerging price action can be in either direction, as the indicator only tracks the number of transfers and contains no information about whether the whales are making the moves for buying or selling purposes. Related Reading: XRP, Bitcoin Recovery Only Short-Lived? TD Sequential May Suggest So In XRP’s case, though, it would appear that these transactions have been for buying indeed, as its price has seen an impressive rally of almost 41% inside the window. Interestingly, the altcoin that has topped the list isn’t one with a variable price, but rather a stablecoin: Dai on the BNB blockchain. “For stablecoins, increased activity is typically a good sign that large levels of funds are being prepared to be swapped for altcoins that are common with that stablecoin’s trading pair,” notes Santiment. XRP Price At the time of writing, XRP is trading around $3.2, down 2% over the last 24 hours. Featured image from Dall-E, Santiment.net, chart from TradingView.com

XRP has hit a new multi-year high after surpassing the $3 mark amid the market recovery. The ongoing rally has fueled investors’ and analysts’ bullish sentiment, suggesting that the race to a new all-time high (ATH) has started. Related Reading: Ethereum Recovers From Drop Below $3,000: Analyst Points At 2021 Rally Similarities XRP Hits $3 After Seven Years XRP has been one of the best-performing cryptocurrencies after the post-election pump, rallying over 450% since November 6. In the past two months, the altcoin has outperformed most of the market, holding above key support zones during the market’s corrections. In December, the cryptocurrency climbed to its multi-year high of $2.9, hovering between the $1.9-$2.7 price range for the rest of the month. Despite the broader market retraces, the altcoin held the range’s lower zone, confirming it as a key support level. Moreover, XRP has traded between the $2.1 and $2.6 levels for the past two weeks, holding above the $2.2 support amid the start-of-year pullbacks. Over the last few days, the cryptocurrency has been attempting a breakout, as some analysts noted. Analyst Carl Runefelt noted that XRP had been retesting the descending resistance of a one-month symmetrical triangle pattern, which targeted a surge to the December highs. On Wednesday, XRP’s price skyrocketed 30% from Monday’s lows to break above the key resistance level and reach a new multi-year high. As Bitcoin reclaimed the $98,00-$99,000 price range, the cryptocurrency soared 17% in the daily timeframe to briefly surpass the $3 barrier for the first time since 2018, trading just 12% below its ATH of $3.4. After the long-awaited milestone, XRP retraced to $2.9 again and is currently testing the resistance level as support. XRP’s Rally To New ATH ‘Just Started’ Analyst Ali Martinez shared that whales have noted XRP’s momentum as the number of large-scale transactions on the XRP network surged. According to the post, the network saw 341 transactions over $1 million in the last 24 hours. Crypto analysis firm Santiment also revealed that wallets holding 1 million to 10 million XRP have continued to accumulate the altcoin. The firm stated that these wallets have added around $3.8 billion in XRP since November 12, marking an increase of 37%. Meanwhile, Crypto trader Miky Bull pointed out that the altcoin has broken out of a multi-year downtrend line against its BTC trading pair. According to the post, the cryptocurrency broke above the trendline during its November breakout and has held above it for the past two months. Related Reading: Bitcoin Daily Close To ‘Dictate The Next Move’, Is Another Price Drop Ahead? Additionally, the trader highlights that, historically, whenever XRP broke out from its downtrend line against BTC, it would kickstart a massive rally to new highs. He suggested that if it were to repeat this behavior, XRP/BTC could be near 0.0004, which would see XRP’s price in double digits. Based on this, Miky added that the altcoin’s next target should be $4, which would represent a 37% increase from current prices. As of this writing, the altcoin is trading at $2.91, an 11% increase in the daily timeframe. Featured Image from Unsplash.com, Chart from TradingView.com

XRP has been range-bound in recent days, consolidating after successfully holding strong above the critical $2.10 support level. As one of the standout performers this cycle, XRP experienced a massive surge following the US election, capturing investor attention. However, recent price action has introduced uncertainty, leaving some investors concerned about the possibility of further downside. Related Reading: Solana Holds Weekly Support At $180 – Analyst Expects $330 Mid-Term Despite these fears, on-chain data suggests a different narrative. Insights from Santiment reveal that whales have accumulated another 40 million XRP in the past 24 hours. This significant accumulation indicates that Smart Money may be positioning itself for an upcoming rally. Historically, such whale activity has preceded major price movements, providing a bullish signal for long-term holders. XRP’s ability to maintain the $2.10 support level amid market fluctuations demonstrates resilience, but the next decisive move will depend on whether bulls can capitalize on this accumulation phase. If buying momentum continues and XRP breaks out of its current range, a push toward new highs could follow. XRP Continues To Signal Strength  XRP continues to display resilience, trading above key support levels and attracting investors who recognize its long-term potential. Despite a significant 30% retrace from recent highs, XRP has held its ground, maintaining critical support zones that bolster a bullish outlook. This stability is driving confidence among market participants, with many seeing the altcoin as a top contender for future growth. Top analyst Ali Martinez recently highlighted compelling data from Santiment, showing that whales added another 40 million XRP to their holdings in the last 24 hours. This follows a broader trend of consistent whale accumulation, a phenomenon often regarded as an indicator of smart money positioning for a significant market move. Such activity suggests that institutional and high-net-worth investors expect XRP to outperform in the coming months. The sustained interest in XRP stems from its ability to remain strong despite recent corrections and broader market uncertainty. Holding above key support levels not only reflects technical strength but also underscores investor confidence in its potential for a significant rally. Related Reading: If History Repeats Dogecoin Has Potential For A Parabolic Rally – Details As whale accumulation continues and sentiment shifts, XRP is well-positioned to capitalize on positive momentum. A breakout above resistance levels could mark the beginning of a powerful rally, reinforcing its leadership among altcoins in the current cycle. Technical Analysis: Key Levels To Watch XRP is currently trading at $2.22 after successfully testing the 4-hour moving average (MA) and exponential moving average (EMA) around $1.96 a few days ago. This bounce off critical support levels highlights XRP’s short-term strength, reinforcing its bullish momentum. The MA and EMA are widely regarded as key indicators for assessing the health of an asset, and XRP’s ability to hold above them signals strong demand at lower levels. Maintaining support above $2.13 in the coming days is essential to sustain this momentum. If XRP continues to trade above this level, it would solidify investor confidence and pave the way for a potential test of the $2.40 resistance mark. Breaking above $2.40 would likely trigger additional buying interest, potentially driving XRP toward new highs as the broader market sentiment improves. Related Reading: Ethereum Whales Bought $1 Billion ETH In The Past 96 Hours – Details On the flip side, losing the $2.13 support could introduce some short-term weakness, leading to a retest of lower levels near the MA and EMA. However, as long as XRP maintains its overall structure above these moving averages, the bullish narrative remains intact, and the altcoin could continue to attract smart money positioning for the next rally. XRP has faced a steep correction over the past few days, plunging more than 23% since Tuesday amid heightened market volatility. Despite this sharp downturn, XRP has shown resilience, bouncing back with a notable 20% recovery since yesterday. This quick rebound has reignited discussions about XRP’s long-term prospects, even as short-term sentiment remains shaky. Related Reading: Bitcoin Realized Losses Spike 3 Times The Weekly Average – Healthy Correction Or Downturn? According to data shared by prominent crypto analyst Ali Martinez, whales have accumulated 80 million XRP since the correction began on December 17. This surge in whale activity suggests a growing confidence among large investors, who appear to be seizing the opportunity to buy XRP at lower prices. Such accumulation often signals a long-term bullish outlook, even as the broader market navigates periods of uncertainty. While XRP’s recovery is encouraging, it comes amid a backdrop of negative sentiment and price instability. The coming days will likely prove crucial in determining whether XRP can maintain its upward momentum or if further consolidation is on the horizon. For now, whale activity offers a glimmer of optimism, hinting at sustained interest in the asset despite recent setbacks. XRP Whales Loading Up XRP is currently trading 22% below its multi-year high of $2.90, following a period of heightened market volatility. Despite the recent turbulence, XRP has maintained its footing above the $1.90 low—a critical support level that serves as the bulls’ last line of defense. Holding this level is essential for preserving the broader bullish structure and preventing a deeper correction. Recent data from Santiment, shared by crypto analyst Ali Martinez, highlights a significant development: whales have purchased 80 million XRP since the correction began on December 17.  This accumulation by large investors suggests growing confidence in XRP’s long-term potential despite the short-term price decline. Historically, whale activity has often preceded significant price movements, as these investors typically have access to better market insights. If XRP can sustain its position above $2 and begin to push through crucial supply zones, a rapid recovery could follow. Overcoming these resistance levels would likely pave the way for renewed bullish momentum, with the potential to retest multi-year highs. Related Reading: Solana Holds Monthly Support As Network Activity Grows – Time For A Breakout? While challenges remain, such as prevailing market uncertainty and cautious sentiment, the combination of strong support and significant whale accumulation offers an optimistic outlook for XRP in the weeks ahead. Holding current levels could signal the start of a new upward trajectory. Testing Liquidity Above $2 XRP is trading at $2.35, marking a strong recovery from its recent dip to $1.95. This rebound underscores the resilience of XRP’s price action, as it continues to hold above key support levels. The $1.95 low has proven to be a pivotal point for bulls, and maintaining this momentum could signal further gains in the coming days. However, for the rally to gain credibility, XRP must reclaim the $2.60 mark. This level serves as a critical resistance point and a confirmation zone for bullish sentiment. Breaking above $2.60 would likely attract more buying interest, propelling XRP toward retesting multi-year highs. On the flip side, a loss of the $2 support level would shift the narrative. Such a move would expose XRP to further downside risks, potentially leading to a deeper correction. Market sentiment remains cautious, and a break below $2 could result in accelerated selling pressure. Related Reading: Bitcoin Data Reveals No Significant Panic Selling In The Market – Shakeout Or Trend Shift? For now, XRP’s outlook hinges on its ability to navigate between these crucial levels. Bulls will need to push the price above $2.60 to validate the rally, while bears will aim to drag it below $2 to seize control. The next few sessions will be critical in defining XRP’s short-term trend. Featured image from Dall-E, chart from TradingView

XRP has faced a sharp downturn over the past few days, shedding over 23% of its value since Tuesday. This steep correction has mirrored the broader market’s turbulence, intensifying negative sentiment around XRP. However, notable developments are emerging beneath the surface of this bearish price action. Related Reading: Bitcoin Data Reveals No Significant Panic Selling In The Market – Shakeout Or Trend Shift? Key on-chain data from Santiment reveals that whales are taking advantage of the dip. In the last 24 hours alone, these large holders have accumulated an additional 110 million XRP, demonstrating significant confidence in the asset’s long-term prospects. Historically, whale activity during negative sentiment often signals strategic positioning for future gains. This accumulation trend suggests that whales are undeterred by short-term price fluctuations, focusing instead on XRP’s potential in the coming months. As retail traders grow increasingly cautious amidst the recent drop, the actions of these large holders highlight a different perspective. While the immediate outlook for XRP remains uncertain, the notable whale activity is a bullish indicator for the long run. Whether this signals a bottom or simply positions XRP for a broader recovery remains to be seen, but it is clear that big players are looking beyond the current market turbulence. XRP Holding Key Levels XRP is currently trading 28% below its multi-year high of $2.90, but it has managed to stay above a critical support level at $1.90. This zone, regarded as the bulls’ last line of defense, has proven resilient amid recent market volatility. Holding above this level is essential to maintaining the bullish structure that has characterized XRP’s recent price action. Adding to the optimism, key metrics from Santiment, shared by crypto analyst Ali Martinez, reveal that XRP whales have accumulated actively during the pullback. Over the last 24 hours, these large holders have purchased an additional 110 million XRP, underscoring their confidence in the asset’s long-term potential. Historically, whale activity during price dips often signals preparation for a recovery. The next step for XRP to regain momentum is to push above critical supply levels that have previously stalled upward moves. A breakout above these zones could trigger a swift rally, bringing XRP closer to its multi-year high. Related Reading: On-Chain Metrics Reveal Cardano Whales Are ‘Buying The Dip’ – Details The strong support at $1.90 and continued whale accumulation suggest a positive outlook for the weeks ahead. However, maintaining current levels and overcoming resistance will be crucial for XRP to capitalize on this potential and reignite its bullish trajectory. Technical Levels To Watch  XRP is trading at $2.06, reflecting a loss of momentum after failing to reclaim the crucial $2.60 level. This inability to push higher has left the market uncertain, with XRP holding above the critical $1.90 low. For now, these levels suggest the asset could enter a prolonged period of range-bound trading, oscillating between $1.90 and $2.60 in the coming days. However, market sentiment remains fragile, and this indecision could tilt toward the bearish side if the overall mood doesn’t improve. With XRP trading just above the psychologically significant $2 mark, a continued lack of bullish momentum might lead to a significant selloff. If bears take control, the lack of strong support below $2 could pave the way for a deeper correction, eroding recent gains. Related Reading: Bitcoin Stuck Between $99K And $102K – Analyst Explains Macro Situation For XRP to break free from this indecisive phase, a clear reclaim of the $2.60 level is necessary to restore confidence among bulls. Until then, traders and investors are likely to exercise caution, closely monitoring price movements and sentiment shifts to gauge the next directional move. Without a decisive breakout, the price may face mounting pressure, risking a more pronounced downturn if support at $1.90 fails. Featured image from Dall-E, chart from TradingView

However, the altcoin recorded a significant 23% decline in the past week, falling from $2.90 to $2.22 between December 3-December 6. During this period, Martinez noted that whales i.e. wallets holding between 1 million – 10 million  XRP,  acquired over 120 million XRP, valued at $288 million, as they increased their market holdings to $4.7 billion. Generally, such large purchases by market whales are indicative of confidence in an asset’s long-term profitability and are common bullish signals. Rightly so, XRP has experienced an 18% price gain rising to $2.60 in the 48 hours following this bullish whale activity.  In regards to how high XRP can go, Ali Martinez has set a projected target of $4.34 which may be a good price zone for traders to take profit. However, any unexpected price decline could force the altcoin to return to around $2.23 which Martinez describes as a “key area of support”.
