XRP price is gaining bearish pace below the $3.10 resistance zone. The price is struggling near $3.050 and remains at risk of more losses. XRP price is declining below the $3.150 and $3.10 levels. The price is now trading below $3.10 and the 100-hourly Simple Moving Average. There is a bearish trend line forming with resistance at $3.070 on the hourly chart of the XRP/USD pair (data source from Kraken). The pair could regain bullish momentum if it clears the $3.120 zone. XRP Price Dips Further XRP price remained in a bearish zone after a close below the $3.20 level, like Bitcoin and Ethereum. The price extended losses and traded below the $3.10 support zone. The price even declined below $3.00. Finally, it tested the $2.950 support zone. A low was formed at $2.941 and the price recently attempted a recovery wave above the 50% Fib retracement level of the downward move from the $3.148 swing high to the $2.941 low. However, the bears were active near $3.10 and the 76.4% Fib retracement level of the downward move from the $3.148 swing high to the $2.941 low. There is also a bearish trend line forming with resistance at $3.070 on the hourly chart of the XRP/USD pair. The price is now trading below $3.050 and the 100-hourly Simple Moving Average. On the upside, the price might face resistance near the $3.0450 level. The first major resistance is near the $3.070 level. A clear move above the $3.070 resistance might send the price toward the $3.120 resistance. Any more gains might send the price toward the $3.150 resistance or the 50% Fib retracement level of the downward move from the $3.350 swing high to the $2.97 low. The next major hurdle for the bulls might be near $3.20. More Losses? If XRP fails to clear the $3.070 resistance zone, it could start a fresh decline. Initial support on the downside is near the $2.9420 level. The next major support is near the $2.920 level. If there is a downside break and a close below the $2.920 level, the price might continue to decline toward the $2.850 support. The next major support sits near the $2.80 zone, below which there could be a larger decline. Technical Indicators Hourly MACD – The MACD for XRP/USD is now gaining pace in the bearish zone. A new prediction from crypto commentator BarriC has drawn attention to the long-term future of XRP. According to him, the token’s price has so far only been shaped by altcoin seasons and the four-year cycle, leaving an entirely different scenario still unexplored. He believes that when XRP eventually enters a utility run, its value could rise far beyond the levels seen today, moving to $100 first and finally settling at $1,000. XRP Has Never Experienced A True Utility Run Like many other cryptocurrencies, XRP has been subject to cycles of hype, corrections, and quick inflows of capital. Its rallies in previous bull markets, particularly in 2018, were based largely on investor sentiment rather than on widespread real-world use. However, many crypto analysts have argued that the dynamics of XRP are changing, especially now that the SEC-Ripple lawsuit, which has dragged the natural growth of its price down, has ended. Related Reading: XRP Takes On Live TV: Analyst Predicts Surge To $13 If This Happens According to BarriC, no cryptocurrency, including XRP, has gone through what he calls a utility run. A “utility run,” as he describes it, would be based on adoption across banking networks, remittance companies, and global payment systems. In such a scenario, XRP would move away from being valued purely as a speculative asset and instead gain a price level backed by constant, large-scale demand for transactions.  Furthermore, no data exists to describe what happens when trillions of dollars start flowing directly through XRP. The absence of precedent leaves room for dramatic upside that cannot be measured by prior cycles alone, and the idea is that there’s no way that the XRP price stays between $3 and $4 if millions, billions, and trillions of dollars start flowing through the XRP Ledger. Why $1,000 Is Not Out Of The Question The possibility of XRP reaching well above double digits at $10, triple digits at $100, and four digits at $1,000 has been a well-discussed topic among XRP supporters and critics this cycle. Proponents like BarriC argue that XRP is well on track to reach $1,000 and stabilize above this level. However, critics say this isn’t possible, considering the market cap it would need to achieve this price. Related Reading: XRP Price At $36: 7-Year Bottom Breakout Could Trigger Repeat Of 2014-2017 Addressing those who argue that XRP can never reach $1,000, BarriC countered by pointing out that such claims are not based on evidence. Since no cryptocurrency has yet experienced a true utility-driven cycle, dismissing four-digit targets for XRP is premature. Once XRP starts to see millions in inflows and becomes the backbone of global financial transactions, then it is entirely possible to reach such levels. “That’s when we see prices for $XRP exceed $100 and settle comfortably at $1,000,” he said. At the time of writing, XRP is trading at $2.97, down by 4.8% in the past 24 hours. Right now, the first thing would be to maintain a position above $3. Crypto pundit XRP Avengers has declared that XRP can’t hit $1,000, a price level that has been discussed among community members. The pundit explained why he holds this belief, alluding to the altcoin’s market cap.  Why XRP Cannot Hit $1,000 In an X post, the crypto pundit said that XRP cannot hit $1,000 based on the market cap. He noted that if the altcoin were to hit $1,000, which is impossible, its market cap would be 100 trillion, which is like 10 times the global GDP. XRP Avengers added that $10 is the max price that the altcoin can reach and that it would take ages for that to happen and require banks to almost solely use it for transactions.  Related Reading: Pundit Reveals What Will Happen When XRP Price Hits $100 And $1,000 In line with this, the crypto pundit revealed that he is simply waiting for XRP to hit between $5 and $10 before selling, as reaching $1,000 is “genuinely impossible.” Market expert Tony Severino also explained that XRP cannot reach this price target even by 2030. He noted that a rally to $1,000 would make the altcoin four times Gold’s market cap and 15 times Apple’s market cap, which he considers impossible.   Meanwhile, software engineer Vincent Van Code disputed XRP Avengers’ claim that the altcoin cannot reach $1,000. He stated that if holders purchased 99% of XRP for $1, for example, then the 1% being purchased for $1,000 each is indeed possible.  The software engineer added that it doesn’t mean that the altcoin’s total supply needs to be multiplied by $1,000, but only the relatively small number of tokens that were purchased for this amount. Vincent Van Code remarked that anything in the world, including XRP, can have any value, as all that matters is there being a market for it.  Analyst Doubles Down On $1,000 Prediction Crypto analyst BarriC has doubled down on his prediction that XRP can hit $1,000 following XRP Avengers’ remarks. In an X post, he noted that the altcoin’s price action has only ever existed within the parameters of an altcoin season and the 4-year cycle. The analyst added that there is no historical data on what a utility run will look like for any crypto.  Related Reading: Analyst Says XRP Price Could Explode 44,000% To Cross $1,000 Therefore, BarriC remarked that claims that XRP can never hit $1,000 are completely false. The analyst further claimed that it makes logical sense that the altcoin could reach this price level if every bank around the world adopts and utilizes it. When that happens, he expects trillions of dollars to flow directly into and through XRP.  At the time of writing, the XRP price is trading at around $2.98, down over 4% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap. XRP is moving in tandem with the broader crypto trend and has managed to hold above the $3 price level. According to a recent technical analysis by popular crypto chartist Egrag Crypto, XRP’s price action is about to enter a critical stage that will push it well above double digits. Its monthly Relative Strength Index (RSI) is currently playing out what he calls the “Cycle of Three,” which projects an incoming explosive phase. Major Pump, Correction, And Blow-Off Top Egrag’s framework is built around a repeating pattern that’s always taking place on XRP’s monthly RSI indicator. According to his analysis, the first stage of the cycle historically delivers a major RSI pump, followed by the second stage, where corrections set in, and then a third stage that has consistently played out as a blow-off top. Related Reading: XRP Chatter Reaches Ride-Share Drivers — Small Survey Shows Mixed Results Both Cycle 1 and Cycle 2, which took place during the XRP rallies of 2017 and 2021, respectively, exhibited the same sequence, although with varying levels of intensity. The 2017 rally was much greater than the 2021 rally, which was suppressed by the Ripple lawsuit at the time. As such, the 2021 RSI pattern was much less pronounced, but it followed the same sequence nonetheless. The current setup, which is marked as Cycle 3 in the chart below, has already seen the pump and correction phases completed. What remains, according to the analyst, is the third stage. This is the push to an RSI blow-off top that could send the price of XRP into new territories. Egrag Crypto predicted three possible targets of 80, 87, and an ambitious 97 for XRP’s monthly RSI peak in the current cycle. These numbers are derived from the RSI trajectory observed in the last two cycles and projected onto today’s XRP RSI conditions. Image From X: Egrag Crypto What Does This Mean For XRP’s Price? If XRP’s monthly RSI reaches levels such as 80, 87, or even 97, it would be one of the strongest overbought signals in the asset’s history. The last time XRP’s monthly RSI crossed above 90 was during the 2017 bull run, which saw XRP’s price explode from less than $0.1 to its then all-time high of $3.40.  Related Reading: Trump Coin Jumps 10% On Canary Capital ETF Filing: Details In technical terms, an RSI above 70 means that an asset is trading at overheated levels, but in bull markets, these conditions can persist for extended periods during price rallies. For XRP, such elevated RSI readings would likely coincide with new all-time highs that mirror those seen in the 2017 bull run. Realistically, this could see the XRP price break above its newly established all-time high of $3.65 and into $4, $5, and beyond into double digits. XRP RSI reaching above 90 could also serve as a warning that the price may already be at a new multi-year top. At the time of writing, the monthly XRP RSI was at a 73 reading. XRP was trading at $3.12. Featured image from Pexels, chart from TradingView

Bitcoin’s smaller cousin, XRP, has drawn fresh bullish bets after it held above the $3 mark in July. According to trading charts and public commentary, the token first pierced $3 in January 2025 — its highest point in seven years — then pulled back before reclaiming that level in mid-July. Related Reading: Trump Coin Jumps 10% On Canary Capital ETF Filing: Details The comeback has some analysts reading the move as a change in market structure, and price sits near $3.12 as momentum checks continue. Trendline Breakouts And Support Flip According to analyst Steph, a breakout above a long-running descending trendline on the weekly XRP chart is what matters now. Steph points to the flip of $3 from resistance into support as a classic technical cue. He used historical weekly charts to argue that past breakouts from similar trendlines often led to strong rallies, and he highlighted that pattern going back to 2022 when price action began to shift more visibly. This is the hardest #XRP bull market ever. Congratulations if you’re still here. We will get rich! pic.twitter.com/cLltUs7MQj — STEPH IS CRYPTO (@Steph_iscrypto) August 12, 2025 A Pattern Seen Several Times Since 2022 Reports have traced the same setup across multiple cycles. After the Terra collapse in May 2022, XRP fell and formed a descending trendline that broke in September 2022, sending price to a high near $0.55. Later, a new trendline formed and then broke around the SEC vs. Ripple ruling in July 2023, which preceded a move toward $0.94. The most recent big run took XRP to about $3.4 in January 2025, after a breakout following the November 2024 US elections. Those episodes form the backbone of the “repeat pattern” case. Analyst Targets And Differing Calls Steph projects a potential rise to $14 from roughly $3.12 now, which would equal about a 340% gain. According to his messaging, some traders who sold early took profits, while others who held could see larger returns if the thesis plays out. Based on reports, some commentators have voiced similar targets, saying when XRP traded near $2, that the token was poised for a major breakout and pointed to Fibonacci levels toward $14, while others put a $14 minimum target on the table last March. Related Reading: XRP Chatter Reaches Ride-Share Drivers — Small Survey Shows Mixed Results What To Watch Going Forward Volume on any push above recent highs will tell the story. Keep an eye on whether $3 stays as support and whether the weekly breakout holds as price moves higher. Also watch how long consolidation around $2 lasted — more than five months — because long flat bases can precede sharp moves if buyers return in force. Derivatives flows and where large holders place sell orders will matter too. Featured image from Unsplash, chart from TradingView

A wave of anecdotes from industry figures and onlookers has pushed XRP into everyday talk in some circles, but the picture is mixed. Related Reading: Trump Coin Jumps 10% On Canary Capital ETF Filing: Details According to a recent podcast episode featuring several crypto commentators, guests flagged “mania signals” as a way to spot when an asset is going mainstream. Some guests said they are now hearing XRP mentioned in casual settings, while others point to counterexamples that suggest the trend is not universal. Uber Drivers Talk Crypto Based on reports from the Unchained podcast and social posts, one guest said they had taken multiple Uber rides where drivers were trading XRP. That comment was later amplified on social media, with others sharing similar encounters. Reports have disclosed that another well-known community figure said Uber drivers in Nevada and Michigan even recognized him as “that XRP lawyer guy” after his advocacy in the Ripple–SEC case. Those anecdotes add color to claims of growing retail chatter. I’ve had 2 different Uber drivers in 2 different states (Nevada & Michigan) bring up XRP to me during the last 3 months. They said: “You look familiar” and “I know you.” I replied: “I ran for U.S. Senate against Elizabeth Warren.” Both quickly responded: “No that’s not it -… https://t.co/hsmppCsXRt — John E Deaton (@JohnEDeaton1) August 14, 2025 Small Survey Finds Little Uptake A separate, small experiment tested the idea directly. A commentator took 25 Uber rides in Ontario and asked each driver whether they held XRP. Most drivers were confused or said they did not own any crypto. One driver reported holding XRP, having bought at $1.67, and said they planned to hold long-term. Based on that sample, the experiment’s author concluded that the “Uber driver” story is overstated, or that early buyers may have already cashed out. Retail Buzz Versus Real Adoption Analysts differ on what these encounters mean. According to a Bloomberg ETF analyst cited in reports, institutional demand for a possible XRP ETF may start modest while retail interest could be greater. Other researchers in the community argue that institutions might be quietly building positions even if many retail investors remain unaware. Both lines of argument can be true at once: pockets of strong recognition can exist while broad adoption lags behind. Interesting, trades reporting how Polymarket odds of XRP ETF approval went down to 62% after the votes were disclosed showing Crenshaw voting no, but a) she’s gonna vote no on EVERYTHING and b) it’s meaningless, she’s outnumbered = we haven’t changed our odds, still at 95%. https://t.co/TamMn8DHVh pic.twitter.com/Ip9G748HrU — Eric Balchunas (@EricBalchunas) August 7, 2025 Anecdotes Need Hard Data What matters next is measurable breadth. These first-hand accounts are compelling because they are simple and human. They make a tidy headline and spark debate online. Recent price action has shown that XRP is establishing the $3 price level as a base, and an analysis of its fundamentals indicates various conditions that could push its price to multiple all-time highs. According to crypto analyst David_kml, XRP is no longer confined to speculation but is steadily becoming a vital part of global finance. This trend is very important in its push to new price highs.  At the same time, XRP’s chart structure on the weekly candlestick timeframe shows that it may be approaching a breakout similar to Ethereum’s explosive run between 2016 and 2018. Related Reading: Chainlink Breaks 3-Month High Amid Record 2025 Enthusiasm Institutional Growth And Expanding Adoption One of the strongest arguments supporting XRP’s ability to register a new all-time high very soon is the steady growth in its institutional presence. David_kml noted that XRP is now being used by leading banks and global payment companies through the XRP Ledger, a development that points to real-world demand for XRP beyond retail speculation. The token’s steady price above the $3.10 price level highlights this strengthening foundation, but the larger story lies in the expanding number of Ripple partnerships and fintech integrations of the XRP Ledger. Speaking of fintech integration, Ripple’s advancements in the past few months have seen the XRP Ledger infrastructure for cross-border settlements growing massively. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has noted that the company is focused on developing the XRP Ledger to the point where it rivals that of the traditional SWIFT system and grabbing a huge chunk of its userbase.  At the time of writing, many financial institutions are starting to test and adopt XRP’s network for their payment flows, building confidence that the asset is on track for long-term relevance in global finance. This, in turn, is continuously boosting XRP’s chance of steadily exploding to new price highs, especially now that the global financial sector is gradually warming to blockchain technology. Breakout Pattern On Weekly Timeframe Another factor that lends the voice to XRP’s potential of new all-time highs is the increase in transaction volumes. Interestingly, the technical picture for XRP also complements the bullish case made by fundamentals. In his post, David_kml shared a chart that places XRP’s current price behavior alongside Ethereum’s price action between 2016 and 2018.  During that period, Ethereum traded within a prolonged consolidation range before breaking out. This was a move that started one of the most dramatic rallies in Ethereum’s price history, as it carried its price from under $15 to well over $1,000. XRP’s weekly chart now shows a similar setup. XRP has been consolidating in a range near $3, and the breakout point is forming just above $3.25. This structure suggests that XRP could be on the cusp of a powerful surge that has the ability to mimic that of Ethereum’s run in 2018. Related Reading: Trump Coin Jumps 10% On Canary Capital ETF Filing: Details Analysts such as Dark Defender and Egrag Crypto have previously pointed to this kind of fractal pattern by pointing out the fact that XRP is building momentum independent of Bitcoin and Ethereum. If this plays out well, XRP’s breakout could extend beyond its most recent peak of $3.65 and set the stage for new all-time highs in the coming weeks and months. Oliver Michael, the CEO of Tokentus, has again provided a bullish outlook for XRP. This time, he predicted that the altcoin could reach as high as $13 and outlined factors that could serve as catalysts for this significant price surge.  XRP Eyes Surge To $13 With These Catalysts Oliver Michael predicted in an interview that XRP could rally to $13 at some point if it sustained its current bullish momentum. He alluded to the Ripple SEC lawsuit, which just concluded and how it could spark several ripple effects, which would act as catalysts for the next leg up for the third-largest crypto by market cap.  Related Reading: Analyst Says XRP Pump Always Comes After This Happens One of these ripple effects is the potential approval of the XRP ETFs. Michael noted that the SEC can now go on to approve these funds since the legal battle against Ripple is over. Furthermore, he raised the possibility of BlackRock filing for an XRP ETF and indicated that the altcoin is likely to record a parabolic rally if this happens, considering BlackRock’s position as the world’s largest asset manager.  It is worth noting that BlackRock has said that it has no plans to file for an XRP ETF at the moment. However, XRP lawyer John Deaton believes that the world’s largest asset manager will still file to offer this fund within a year from now. If so, this could drive significant inflows into the XRP ecosystem, considering the success that the firm has recorded with its Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. More Catalysts For The Altcoin Meanwhile, Oliver Michael also expects more Ripple partners to emerge now that the SEC lawsuit is over. This will help enhance XRP’s utility as more companies adopt Ripple’s payment services. Notably, the crypto firm has also made great strides to expand its presence globally by acquiring platforms like the stablecoin platform Rail and brokerage firm Hidden Road. Related Reading: XRP Price At $36: 7-Year Bottom Breakout Could Trigger Repeat Of 2014-2017 Another reason why the Tokentus CEO believes that XRP can reach this $13 price level is based on his expectation that retail investors will develop a greater interest in the altcoin now that Bitcoin and Ethereum have already pumped significantly. Therefore, they will turn to XRP as the third-largest crypto, which may have more upside than BTC and ETH.  Michael remarked that XRP’s move to the upside could happen really fast, similar to its rally of over 300% from below $1 to $3 last year. The altcoin already rallied to as high as $3.6 this year, boasting a 33% year-to-date (YTD) gain. However, based on Michael’s prediction, the XRP price could still reach new highs in the coming months. At the time of writing, the XRP price is trading at around $3.10, down in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap. Featured image from Getty Images, chart from Tradingview.com

A leading market analyst is warning XRP holders that dreams of a $1,000 price tag are far from reality. The expert, Tony The Bull, says the numbers simply do not add up, and reaching that level would require an economy-shaking leap in value. According to him, the market cap at such a price would not only surpass major companies and industries but would also outsize entire nations’ economies. He calls this level “fantasy pricing” and stresses that it is not something the market will see in 2030.  Why A $1,000 XRP Price Defies Economic Reality Tony The Bull explains that a $1,000 price for XRP would create a market cap so large it would completely change the global financial landscape. At that level, XRP would be worth four times the total market cap of gold. For context, gold is considered one of the most valuable and stable assets in the world, yet the cryptocurrency would have to multiply that value fourfold. Related Reading: Ethereum Still At Risk Of Being Overtaken By XRP? Analyst Walks Back Shocking Prediction A $1,000 XRP would make its market cap fifteen times larger than Apple, the most valuable publicly traded company on the planet. This kind of valuation, according to Tony, is beyond what the current or foreseeable market could support. On a global scale, it would equal half of the total world GDP. In other words, half of all economic activity on Earth would have to be matched by a single cryptocurrency, something that has never happened in history. The market expert also points out that this hypothetical market cap would also be half the value of the entire global stock market. That means XRP alone would have to rival half the value of every listed company combined. Tony stresses that these comparisons show the $1,000 target is not just ambitious, it’s far beyond realistic market conditions. Expert Labels XRP $1,000 Target As “Fantasy Pricing” Because of these staggering numbers, Tony does not hesitate to call the $1,000 prediction “fantasy pricing.” Looking at hard facts, the global economy, asset values, and cryptocurrency market structure simply do not align with such a price level for XRP. Related Reading: The Grand Bitcoin Roadmap: Crypto Expert Says $160,000 Still In The Works He adds that it’s not a possibility in 2030, no matter how optimistic some investors may be. Even with strong market performance, growth, and adoption, the gap between reality and a $1,000 price is too wide to close in the near term. For holders who still cling to the hope of hitting that number, Tony delivers a blunt reality check. They might need to hold their investment for an entire generation, decades of waiting, and even then, there’s no guarantee such a level would ever be reached. Tony aims to ground the conversation in facts rather than hype. While optimism is common in the crypto world, he believes investors also need to be realistic about what’s possible and what isn’t. For XRP, the $1,000 dream is one that may remain just that, a dream. Featured image from Dall.E, chart from TradingView.com

According to Fundstrat research, Ether could climb much higher before the end of 2025, with price targets ranging from $10,000 to as high as $15,000. Related Reading: Dogecoin Draws New Attention As Open Interest Tops $3 Billion Reports show Ether jumped about 60% over the past 30 days and hit a four-year high near $4,770 in early trading, while other coverage put the token at $4,694 and noted a 78% surge over an eight-week stretch. Those moves have pushed Ether close to its all-time peak, and fund managers are taking notice. Fundstrat Targets And Rationale According to Fundstrat’s chief information officer Tom Lee and head of digital asset research Sean Farrell, institutional forces and new rules are key drivers. They point to stablecoin work and tokenized projects being built mostly on Ethereum, and they cite regulatory efforts such as the GENIUS Act and the SEC’s so-called Project Crypto as factors that could speed Wall Street’s move onto blockchain rails. Based on data, Ethereum holds a commanding 55% share of the $25 billion real-world asset tokenization sector, a stat that Fundstrat uses to argue for broader institutional adoption. Institutional Demand And Big Buyers Reports have disclosed large-scale corporate accumulation that several analysts say is taking supply off the market. BitMine Immersion Technologies has reportedly added about 1.2 million ETH since early July, leaving the company with roughly $5.5 billion worth of Ether on its books. Company stock (BMNR) has been volatile, with some coverage pointing to a 1,300% jump over a short period. Fundstrat and other observers say those kinds of corporate treasuries, combined with fresh ETF flows, could create a structural bid for ETH if the buying is sustained. Rachael Lucas, a crypto analyst at BTC Markets, described these positions as strategic and long-term, saying they remove “substantial liquidity” from trading pools. Market Momentum And Price Claims According to Fundstrat, Ether is outperforming Bitcoin this year. One set of figures put ETH’s year-to-date gain at 28% against Bitcoin’s 18%, while other reports more recently showed ETH up 41% YTD and Bitcoin up 30% YTD, with BTC trading near $121,000 in that snapshot. Based on reports, Fundstrat’s analysts view ETH as a major macro trade for the next 10 to 15 years if institutional and regulatory trends continue to push demand higher. Analysts caution that lofty targets will need sustained, large inflows to become reality. Watch for the pace and consistency of ETF flows, corporate treasury disclosures, and any regulatory moves around stablecoins and custody rules. Related Reading: Solana Strategy: Nasdaq Firm Taps Arthur Hayes For Advisory Role There’s also a practical concern: big, concentrated buys can tighten markets quickly but may also reverse if sentiment shifts or liquidity needs change. According to analysis and public comments from Fundstrat, the bullish case for Ether is clear and backed by specific numbers: $10,000 to $15,000 targets, corporate treasuries holding millions of ETH, and rapid recent gains. Ripple Senior Vice President Markus Infanger explains how the characteristics and features of XRPL make it the perfect candidate for tokenizing real-world assets.

#ripple #xrp #xrp price #david schwartz #ripple news #xrp news

Ripple chief technology officer (CTO) David “JoelKatz” Schwartz used a late-Wednesday post on X to frame a surge of payments and stablecoin companies launching their own base-layer networks as validation of blockchain’s role in finance—and to restate how the XRP Ledger’s design differs from the new entrants. “We’ve been seeing more and more players in the payments and stablecoins space launch their own blockchains. To me, that’s a clear sign the market sees blockchain as core financial infrastructure — something we’ve believed in and have been building toward on the XRP Ledger for over 13 years,” he wrote, adding, “Launching a blockchain is hard. Building an ecosystem with developers, liquidity, trust, and real-world usage is even harder.” Competition For Ripple And The XRP Ledger? Schwartz situated XRPL’s posture in the long-running debate over network governance. “Some blockchains are built with permissioned validator sets controlled by one entity or a small group. This can provide control and compliance for specific, closed-network scenarios, but it limits reach, resilience, and the ability for anyone to contribute to securing and growing the network,” he wrote. Related Reading: XRP Ruling Sends Shockwaves Through The Financial System “As many of you know, the XRPL is public and permissionless at its core, with optional permissioned features for regulated use cases.” He argued that the ledger’s open base “makes it adaptable, interoperable, and well-positioned to serve as critical infrastructure for the world’s financial system — connecting assets, markets, and participants seamlessly across borders.” The remarks arrive as two US fintech heavyweights move into L1 territory. Circle this week unveiled Arc, an EVM-compatible Layer-1 it says is “purpose-built for stablecoin finance,” with dollar-denominated fees (USDC as native gas), opt-in privacy, a built-in RFQ-style FX engine, and “deterministic sub-second settlement finality” via the Malachite consensus engine. Circle says Arc will enter private testnet in the coming weeks, target public testnet in the fall, and a mainnet beta in 2026. Separately, Stripe is developing Tempo, a high-performance, payments-focused L1 being built in partnership with crypto VC firm Paradigm. Tempo is designed to run code compatible with Ethereum, is currently in stealth with a small team, and it remains unclear whether it will have a native token. Schwartz also highlighted specific XRPL design choices he sees as aligned with financial-grade settlement. “It’s encouraging to see some newer chains adopt design choices that have long been part of the XRPL’s architecture, like deterministic finality … It shows there’s growing alignment in the industry on the importance of predictable, reliable settlement for financial applications without expensive validation,” he wrote. He reiterated that XRPL fees are meant to stay “low and predictable, just fractions of a cent, without a separate gas token,” noting that “every transaction on the XRPL uses/burns XRP.” XRPL’s technical documentation specifies that each transaction destroys a small amount of XRP as an anti-spam fee, and describes consensus rules aimed at deterministic ordering and finality. Related Reading: XRP Double-Bottom Breakout Sets Sights On $34, Predicts Analyst Where Schwartz drew a line was on governance flexibility. He acknowledged that permissioned validator sets can make sense for “specific, closed-network scenarios,” but underscored XRPL’s approach: a public, permissionless core with opt-in controls for compliance needs. The ledger’s native features include Authorized Trust Lines, Deposit Authorization/Preauthorization, and issuer-level freeze tooling for issued assets—not for XRP itself—allowing regulated token issuers to gate or police flows without converting the entire network into a walled garden. XRPL’s own FAQ emphasizes that it is a decentralized, public blockchain where changes require supermajority validator approval. The strategic contrast with the new fintech chains is already visible. Arc explicitly centers USDC—making fees dollar-denominated and embedding Circle’s payments stack—whereas XRPL retains XRP for fees and settlement while supporting issued assets through trust-line mechanics. If Tempo proceeds as reported, Stripe would be pursuing an Ethereum-compatible L1 optimized for predictable payments performance, potentially mirroring Arc’s enterprise-centric pitch but with a broader merchant-services integration surface. Schwartz closed on a deliberately expansive note about the competitive set: “Looking forward to the next phase of XRPL innovations, bringing more programmability, compliance-grade capabilities, and deeper liquidity for institutional use,” he wrote—before welcoming rivals: “And to those just getting started… Welcome to the party! The crypto tent is only getting bigger.” At press time, XRP traded at $3.23. Featured image created with DALL.E, chart from TradingView.com

The recent court ruling on XRP has proven to be more than just a legal win for Ripple. What began as a high-stakes legal battle has evolved into a precedent-setting moment that challenges long-standing interpretations of securities law. The verdict’s effects are now being felt across global markets, forcing institutions to reassess their engagement with digital assets. How The Verdict Sets A Precedent For The Crypto In an X post, John Forster noted that the recent ruling on XRP was more than a legal victory, but a structural shock to the foundations of the financial system’s status quo. The count concluded that XRP is not, in certain contexts, like a security, which has set a legal precedent that could transform how financial infrastructure is built, classified, and regulated. Related Reading: Ripple’s XRP Cannot Replace SWIFT? Expert Says This Crypto Is A Better Fit However, this is a precedent with far-reaching implications, and this ruling shifts the legal conversation by elevating functional utility and transactional purpose above the narrow lens of historical fundraising when determining asset classification. According to the expert, this shift threatens to disintermediate entrenched control over payment rails on/off ramps, which have long been a cornerstone of the legacy banking model. From the beginning, XRP was never designed as a speculative asset, but it was built as infrastructure. Furthermore, tokens designed for settlement, liquidity, and operational efficiency can now operate outside Wall Street’s traditional gatekeeping structures. By offering instant settlement, minimal transaction fees, and compliance-grade protocols, XRP has positioned itself as a credible alternative to SWIFT for cross-border payments and liquidity management. In traditional banking, the entities that control the underlying transactional rails effectively dictate the flow of value and hold the strategic high ground. The enforcement action against XRP was less about protecting investors and more about preserving regulatory and institutional dominance over these critical mechanisms of value transfer. If XRP prevails, it would establish a legal and operational framework allowing other utility-focused assets to function without being forced through the choke points of traditional capital markets. Why XRP Is Essential For Scalable Financial Solutions Ripple’s decision to fight stands in contrast to many digital asset firms that have surrendered under the pressure of protracted regulatory litigation. Ripple leadership recognized that a loss in the XRP case would have left every blockchain protocol with true settlement-grade utility exposed to regulatory suppression. Related Reading: XRP Treasury Companies Are Coming With These Firms Already Adding To Balance Sheet With substantial capital reserves and a clear strategic imperative, the company was positioned to challenge the system and defend not only its interests but also create a precedent that could empower the broader digital asset ecosystem. Amidst the legal victory, crypto expert Jack Claver has underscored XRP’s transformative power, stating it is designed to upgrade the existing financial system. While many blockchains focus on string value, XRP is built to enable real-world financial applications, creating a faster, more efficient, and transparent way to move money globally. Therefore, high-performance infrastructure is essential for this vision. Featured image from Getty Images, chart from Tradingview.com

Global financial services company Western Union’s acquisition of International Money Express, Inc. (Intermex) is drawing attention from the crypto space, as analysts highlight its potential boost for Ripple and XRP. With Intermex confirmed as an On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) user of Ripple, the deal could strengthen blockchain-powered payment flows across the US while expanding Western Union’s retail and digital reach.  Western Union Expansion Could Bolster XRP And Ripple Market expert ‘Xaif Crypto’ pointed out in an X social media post on Monday that Western Union’s $500 million all-cash acquisition of Intermex could have significant implications for Ripple and XRP. According to the analyst, Intermex has been a user of Ripple XRP ODL services since 2020, making it an active player in cross-border payments, particularly across Latin America.  Related Reading: Ripple’s XRP Cannot Replace SWIFT? Expert Says This Crypto Is A Better Fit Notably, Western Union announced that it will take over Intermex in a recent press release on August 10. By acquiring Intermex, the international bank is not only gaining a well-established remittance business but also inheriting its Ripple-powered payment infrastructure. Xaif Crypto has stated that this strategic move further positions the company to dominate money flows across all of America. As a result, it marks a significant step toward XRP’s broader objective of achieving global market dominance.  Based on reports from the press release, the acquisition could directly strengthen its North American retail operations while expanding its reach beyond Intermex’s historically high-growth Latin American operations. It is also expected to accelerate digital customer acquisition, enabling faster onboarding of Western Union’s payment ecosystem.  Moreover, the combination of the international bank’s vast global network and Intermex’s use of Ripple’s ODL could enhance the speed, reliability, and cost-efficiency of transactions, potentially increasing XRP’s utility and adoption in high-volume remittance markets. By leveraging Intermex’s six million customers and strong agent relationships, Western Union is also set to broaden the footprint of Ripple-backed transactions across multiple geographies.  This strategic acquisition further aligns with the growing trend of financial giants tapping blockchain technology to remain competitive in the evolving global payments market. This could also give Ripple and XRP a stronger foothold in their mission toward securing a dominant role in worldwide payment systems.  Intermex‘s Deal Structure And Growth Outlook Under the agreement, Western Union will reportedly acquire Intermex for $16 per IMXI share in cash, valuing the deal at approximately $500 million in equity and enterprise terms. This figure represents a 50% premium over Intermex’s 90-day volume-weighted average price.  Related Reading: XRPL Infrastructure: Ripple CTO Shares ‘Most Useful Thing’ For The Network Officially, the deal has been unanimously approved by both companies’ boards and is expected to close in mid-2026, pending regulatory and shareholder approvals. Intermex’s established brand, operational efficiency, and market expertise will be integrated into Western Union’s extensive network, creating opportunities to work better together.  Furthermore, the companies anticipate $30 million in annual run-rate cost savings within two years, with additional revenue potential through expanded product offerings. The acquisition is also expected to immediately boost Western Union’s adjusted earnings per share by over $0.10 in the first full year after closing. After the announcement of the conclusion of the Ripple-SEC legal battle that began in 2020, the XRP price had surged by more than 12% in response. This brought the altcoin back above the $3 level to put the bulls back in charge of the price once again. However, there has been a slowdown in the price in the face of profit-taking, and a crypto analyst has suggested that the price could continue to decline toward the next major support level. Descending Trendline Break Not Enough To Hold Price Following the surge that was triggered by the Ripple-SEC announcement, the XRP price was able to break a descending trendline that had formed after its July peak. This break had seen the price push toward $3.4 before being beaten back down again, crypto analyst HAMED_AZ highlighted in a new analysis. Related Reading: Pundit Predicts ‘Near Term’ Bitcoin And Ethereum Prices, There’s Still Room To Run This was triggered by the resistance encountered just before $3.4 and has now sent the altcoin back into a corrective phase. So far, the bulls have been fighting off this correction as the $3.2 level has continued to serve as support. However, the analyst predicts that the correction is far from done. HAMED explains that it is likely that the XRP price will end up breaking back down to retest the previously broken trendline at around $2.9. This would mean another crash below $3 could be in the works, erasing all of the support that had been built up at this level. The Continuation Of The XRP Price Rally While a break toward the previously broken trendline is expected, the analyst’s chart suggests that the digital asset could find support just above $2.9. This level would mark the completion of the pullback and would serve as the lift-off point for a bullish continuation that could push the price higher. Related Reading: Bitcoin Price Could Hit A Small Roadblock To ATH As CME Gap Threatens Crash This move would also put the XRP price on the path of an ascending trendline from the month of June, which would coincide with the $2.93 bottom. Once this is completed, HAMED expects the XRP price to pull upward toward brand-new all-time highs. From here, an over 35% increase is expected, which would put XRP over $4. If this happens, then it would clear the current peak of $3.84, which was recorded 8 years ago in 2018. Featured image from Dall.E, chart from TradingView.com

XRP has experienced strong price performance in recent weeks, climbing over 12% in the past month and reclaiming notable price levels. However, as of the latest trading session, the asset is showing signs of correction. At the time of writing, XRP is valued at $3.17, representing a 1.2% decline over the past 24 hours from its recent high of roughly $3.22. The recent surge in XRP’s value was largely driven by a major legal development. On August 7, 2025, the long-running US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit against Ripple and its executives officially concluded. The end of the case removed a significant source of uncertainty for the asset and sparked immediate price gains. However, on-chain data suggests that the rally may have been driven more by shifts within the existing investor base rather than by new market participation. Related Reading: XRP Stumbles, But A Recovery Could Be Around The Corner XRP On-Chain Indicators Show Mixed Market Dynamics CryptoQuant analyst CryptoOnchain observed that daily active addresses on the XRP Ledger fell by more than 10% to around 24,701 following the legal resolution. This decline, despite the price increase, indicates that the upward movement was likely supported by capital rotation from existing holders instead of new user adoption. In the analyst’s view, the absence of a fresh wave of participants could limit the rally’s long-term momentum unless broader retail engagement picks up. Exchange flow data offers additional insight. Both Binance and Upbit recorded notable spikes in depositing addresses just before and immediately after the SEC case outcome was announced. Historically, such inflow surges can signal that traders are positioning for profit-taking or short-term speculation. At the same time, withdrawals also rose during this period, implying that some new entrants were building positions. The presence of both trends highlights a mix of motives in market activity, from short-term trading to longer-term accumulation. Liquidity Concentration and Market Outlook Changes in exchange reserves further illustrate the evolving market structure for XRP. After a period of decline, Binance’s XRP holdings have been increasing again, while Upbit’s reserves have maintained a steady upward trend. This reflects a growing role for the Asian market in supporting XRP trading volume. Conversely, OKX now holds almost no XRP, suggesting that most of its reserves have been withdrawn from the exchange. CryptoOnchain noted that the combination of higher prices alongside a drop in active user numbers points toward a market environment dominated by a smaller, concentrated group of traders. If exchange reserves continue to build rapidly, the probability of a short-term correction could increase, especially if profit-taking accelerates. While the resolution of the SEC case has removed a major legal risk for XRP, the sustainability of recent price gains may depend on attracting new market participants and reducing short-term selling pressure. Chainlink’s growing role in SWIFT’s blockchain integration is drawing comparisons to XRP’s long-standing ambitions in the same sector. Related Reading: Ethereum Faith Fading? Samson Mow Says Holders Will Shift To Bitcoin Reports have disclosed that SWIFT already uses Chainlink technology to connect more than 11,000 banks to public and private blockchains, a move some believe gives Chainlink an edge in real-world adoption. The collaboration with SWIFT is central to this progress, enabling data and transaction flows between multiple blockchains. When asked which blockchain would carry these transactions, Chainlink advocate Zack Rynes said any of the hundreds available could serve that role, leaving the door open for XRP and the XRP Ledger (XRPL) to participate. He did point out though that, in reality, Swift and Chainlink have been collaborating to link up 11,500 Swift-affiliated lenders to both public and private blockchain networks. The world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock, has broken its silence on whether it intends to file for an XRP ETF. This follows months of speculation that the firm could soon file to offer this fund.  BlackRock Has No Plans For An XRP ETF For Now A BlackRock spokesperson told The Block that they have no plans to file for an XRP ETF at this time. This ends speculations that it will join eight other asset managers who have already filed to offer this fund. The world’s largest asset manager already offers Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, and based on the statement, the firm plans to stick with only the two largest crypto assets.  Related Reading: BlackRock To File For XRP ETF After Ripple-SEC Settlement? Market Expert Answers NovaDius Wealth President Nate Geraci was one of those who had speculated that BlackRock was going to file for an XRP ETF soon. Prior to the asset manager’s statement, Geraci opined that the firm was waiting for the Ripple SEC lawsuit to end before filing for an iShares XRP ETF. He made this prediction following Ripple and the SEC’s filing of a joint dismissal to end the XRP lawsuit.  Geraci further remarked that it makes “zero” sense for BlackRock to ignore crypto assets beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum. He added that if they do that, they are basically saying that BTC and ETH are the only crypto assets that will ever have value. Following BlackRock’s statement, the NovaDius Wealth president said that the firm’s decision not to file for an XRP ETF will be looked on as a mistake.  Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas also weighed in on BlackRock’s decision not to file for an XRP ETF. He asked Geraci if an XRP filing is enough or if he feels the world’s largest asset manager should also file for SOL, Tron ETFs. He further questioned where exactly the line should be drawn on how many crypto ETFs asset managers should offer.  Potential Demand For These Funds Nate Geraci believes that there will be significant demand for the XRP ETFs, which is one reason why he thinks BlackRock is making a mistake by not filing for one. He noted that futures-based XRP funds have taken in over $1 billion since their launch this year. He opined that this proves that there will be “real” demand for the spot funds.   Related Reading: XRP Price Projection: 5 Key Things To Watch Out For As The Bull Market Unfolds Pro-XRP lawyer John Deaton is confident that BlackRock will still file for an XRP ETF. He said that he is willing to bet that this happens within a year. BlackRock’s failure to file for this ETF now and opt to do so later could prove costly since the pending applications could have the first-mover advantage. According to Bloomberg analysts James Seyffart and Eric Balchunas, there is a 95% chance that the SEC approves these funds this year. At the time of writing, the XRP price is trading at around $3.26, down in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap. Featured image from Getty Images, chart from Tradingview.com

XRP has shown a lot of potential after its price bounced off a major trendline and has now been able to turn previous resistance levels back into support. As the crypto market looks to be in an uptrend, it is likely that the XRP price could see a continuation of the current bullish trend going into the new week. If this happens, crypto analyst Lingrid sees such a move leading the digital asset back toward its all-time high levels before the next major decline. XRP Price In A Perfect Position For Continuation In the analysis, Lingri points out that the XRP price is now holding support at a notable level, which is above $3. This comes after a crash below this level, as bears had beaten down the price. However, as the ascending trendline had moved, the cryptocurrency was able to break above, and this meant that it was a signal for a possible continuation. This level now becomes the level to watch, especially if the structure is able to remain intact from here. In the event of a bounce from the $3.15 support and a breakout, Lingrid expects a sharp upward movement for the XRP price. The buy zone here is placed at the $3.1-$3.2 levels, with a break above $3.4 being the confirmation of the buy trigger. Once the move is underway, a 20% move is expected to send the price toward $3.8. This is where the next major resistance lies for XRP once the break is complete. “A breakout above 3.4000 could open the way for accelerated upside movement. Trend bias remains bullish while price holds above key support,” Lingrid stated. Bears Could Still Take Control As is the case with any analysis, there is the possibility of an invalidation and that the XRP price would end up going the opposite direction. In this scenario, it is if there is another break below $3 again, which would serve as the invalidation move that will put bears back in control. There is also the possibility of limited upside brought about by a weakening of the market. Even in the event that the XRP altcoin does complete the bullish move to $3.8, the crypto analyst says the resistance near $3.8 could also trigger a sharp rejection. XRP’s market presence is gaining strength in 2025, and technical analysis is pointing to a significant divergence from Bitcoin and Ethereum. Recent technical analyses and market structure shifts indicate that XRP is moving along its own bullish path, and its dominance level has been climbing in the past few months.  Technical analysis of the XRP/BTC pair and market cap dominance shows a breakout that could set the tone for XRP in the coming weeks and months, even as it is battling an important short-term support level at $3.22. Related Reading: Bitcoin Is Still King Of Capital Inflows, According To Michael Saylor XRP/BTC Pair Shows Decoupling Momentum According to a breakdown of the XRP/BTC pair by crypto analyst Dark Defender on the social media platform X, XRP has been mostly outperforming Bitcoin since late 2024 and the start of 2025. This trend is shown in the XRP/BTC 3-month candlestick price chart below, which captures a decisive breakout above a long-standing downtrend resistance trendline in December 2024. Despite Bitcoin’s multiple all-time highs in 2025, price action on the XRP/BTC pair has maintained strength above this trendline resistance. This trend indicates a prolonged period of relative outperformance, and according to Dark Defender, the decoupling has already started, meaning the altcoin is now following its own unique path. At the time of writing, the XRP/BTC pair is trading at 0.00002696. If this trajectory holds, the pair could continue to climb toward higher targets, which would bode well for the price of XRP and an altcoin season. Chart Image From X: Dark Defender This bullish stance is further supported by popular analyst EGRAG CRYPTO, who noted the growth in the altcoin’s market dominance. According to him, XRP’s market dominance chart is a crucial indicator of its price direction. His Fibonacci-based analysis identified the 5.92% dominance as the first hurdle that must be breached to open the path toward higher targets. Once cleared, the next resistance is at 8.87%, followed by his optimal dominance target of 11.61%. If XRP reaches this optimal target, then it would certify its performance for the crypto this cycle. Finally, a move to 21.5% dominance would push the XRP price to all-time highs.  Image From X: EGRAG CRYPTO Short-Term Pullback Tests Important Support Although the long-term XRP structure is bullish, the short-term picture shows XRP is currently undergoing a pullback after touching $3.38 very briefly on August 8. Analyst CasiTrades noted that this retracement is now approaching an important support zone between $3.21 and $3.22, which also coincides with the 0.382 Fibonacci retracement level. This zone carries added significance as it aligns with a key backtest area, making it a pivotal point for preserving the bullish structure. The selloff, she noted, may be a calculated liquidity grab to shake out weak holders before the next leg up. Holding above $3.22 could maintain confidence in XRP’s upward trajectory. If XRP does break above $3.22, the next important support level to hold is at $3.17. Ripple Labs’ long-running legal fight with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is officially over after both sides agreed to drop their appeals in the case. Related Reading: Bitcoin Insult Alert: Pro Trader Dubs HODLers ‘Idiots,’ Saylor Fires Back According to reports, a joint filing on August 7 confirmed the decision to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, ending a nearly five-year dispute that has shaped debate over how cryptocurrencies are regulated. Back To Business Ripple’s chief legal officer Stuart Alderoty said on social media the matter was “over” and the company could get “back to business.” Following the Commission’s vote today, the SEC and Ripple formally filed directly with the Second Circuit to dismiss their appeals. The end…and now back to business. https://t.co/nVqthNcFOt — Stuart Alderoty (@s_alderoty) August 7, 2025 Appeals Withdrawn, Penalties Finalized Based on reports, the SEC has withdrawn its challenge to a 2023 ruling that XRP sales on public exchanges were not securities. Ripple, in turn, dropped its own appeal on the finding that institutional sales of XRP violated securities laws. Both parties will shoulder their own legal expenses. The case’s resolution finalizes $125 million in penalties first outlined by Judge Analisa Torres. Of that, $50 million will go to the US Treasury, while $75 million—held in escrow since June—will be returned to Ripple. The ruling also leaves in place a permanent injunction stopping Ripple from making institutional XRP sales without following securities laws. It can be recalled that the litigation started in December 2020 when the regulatory body charged Ripple with raising $1.3 billion from unregistered securities offerings. Ripple protested innocence, claiming XRP is not a security. In July 2023, Judge Torres agreed with the SEC on “programmatic” sales to institutional buyers but decided such type of sales to retail purchasers were not deemed as “securities.” Political Shift Shapes Outcome The move to suspend appeals follows US President Donald Trump’s return to the White House and appointment of new bosses at the SEC. According to reports, under the new chair, Paul Atkins, the agency has backed away from more than a dozen enforcement actions and investigations involving crypto firms in recent months. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse earlier said both parties had already agreed in June to put closure to their appeals, though negotiations to reduce the penalties failed. Meanwhile, market observers say the outcome is a reflection of the SEC’s softened approach in other high-profile cases, including those involving Coinbase and Kraken. For the crypto industry, this resolution is being viewed as a sign of changing tides in Washington’s stance when it comes to regulation.
