XRP is struggling around $1.15 as fear and uncertainty define the current market environment, and holders search for evidence that the current level represents support rather than a temporary pause before further decline. The price is under pressure — and a CryptoQuant analyst has identified a derivatives reset that occurred during the latest sell-off that reveals a sharp divergence between two of the largest XRP trading venues in the world. Related Reading: Ethereum OG Nails The Crash: Sells $188M, Buys Back Lower The sell-off triggered a forced deleveraging event on Bybit that the data makes impossible to dismiss. XRP open interest on Bybit fell to approximately $181 million — its lowest level since February 13, when it stood near $180 million. The current reading represents a 36% decline from Bybit’s recent peak of $283 million on May 22. A third of the leveraged XRP positioning on one of the most active derivatives venues in the market was flushed out in a compressed timeframe — the behavioral signature of forced exits rather than voluntary position management. Binance tells a completely different story. XRP open interest on Binance remained near $246 million following the same price decline — only approximately 2.4% below its recent high of $252 million recorded on June 2. While Bybit was experiencing a 36% open interest contraction, Binance was holding its positioning almost entirely intact. Two major venues. The same asset. The same price decline. Completely opposite derivative responses. The divergence between them is the structural signal that the CryptoQuant analysis examines — and what it reveals about the health of the current XRP market structure at $1.15 is the most important analytical question the data is currently raising. The Next Move Comes From One Exchange The liquidation data confirms what the open interest divergence implied. XRP’s decline was not driven purely by spot selling — forced exits from leveraged long positions amplified and accelerated the move. Multiple liquidation events exceeded $3.5 million with long liquidations dominating throughout. The futures volume data adds the scale context. On June 5, Binance recorded approximately $1.85 billion in XRP futures volume. Bybit contributed $727 million, OKX $429 million, and Bitget $423 million — a combined $3.43 billion across four venues in a single session. The derivatives market was not disengaged during the decline. It was processing an enormous volume of forced and voluntary position changes simultaneously. XRP Futures Trading Volume By Exchange | Source: CryptoQuant The recovery from the $1.055 low back above $1.14 — a rebound exceeding 8% — provides evidence that the sell-off contained a leverage flush component rather than representing a complete breakdown in underlying demand. When forced liquidations drive a significant portion of the decline, the price tends to recover once exits are complete and genuine buyers emerge. The structure that remains is specific. Bybit has deleveraged sharply with open interest reset to February levels — fragile positioning cleared. Binance remains near its recent highs with positioning almost entirely intact. The next major XRP derivatives development will originate from Binance — the venue carrying the most residual exposure and the exchange that has not yet experienced the reset Bybit completed during the sell-off. The chart shows a market that remains under pressure, but one that is also approaching a critical inflection point after testing its lowest levels of the year. XRP consolidates below $1.15 level | Source: XRPUSDT chart on TradingView The dominant feature on the 3-day timeframe is the persistent sequence of lower highs and lower lows that began after XRP peaked near $3.50. Every major recovery attempt since then has been rejected beneath the previous swing high, confirming that sellers remain in control of the broader trend. More recently, XRP lost the important $1.25-$1.30 support area, triggering another leg lower toward the psychological $1.10 region. Related Reading: Why Did Bitcoin Crash? On-Chain Data Points To One Missing Ingredient From a structural perspective, the current price zone is significant because it sits near the lows established during the first quarter correction. Buyers have repeatedly defended this area, preventing a complete breakdown despite multiple tests. However, the rebound attempts have been weak, indicating that demand remains limited. The moving averages continue to reflect bearish conditions. XRP is trading below the 50-period, 100-period, and 200-period moving averages, while the 50-period average is acting as dynamic resistance near $1.40. Until price reclaims that level, any bounce remains technically corrective rather than trend-changing. The key support remains between $1.05 and $1.10. A decisive loss of that zone could expose XRP to a deeper retracement toward the $0.90-$1.00 region. Conversely, reclaiming $1.30 and then $1.40 would be the first signal that buyers are beginning to regain control after months of sustained weakness. XRP is showing strength as the market recovers from February’s lows, with the price pushing above $1.46 and derivatives activity rebuilding across major exchanges. The move is constructive on the surface — but a CryptoQuant report tracking the flow data beneath the price action has identified a structural divergence that complicates the straightforward bullish reading considerably. Related Reading: Altcoin CEX Volume Ratio Hasn’t Looked Like This Since The 2021 Bull Run: Capital Rotation Or Bear Market Rally? The open interest picture confirms that leverage is returning. On Binance, XRP open interest has climbed from approximately 207 million on April 30 to nearly 232 million today — a meaningful increase in derivatives positioning over a short period that reflects growing trader participation as the price recovers. In isolation, rising open interest during a price advance is a normal feature of a strengthening market. The CryptoQuant analysis looks beyond the open interest number to what is driving it — and that is where the divergence emerges. The relationship between price action, spot demand, and perpetual futures flow is not telling a single coherent story. It is telling three different stories simultaneously, and the gap between them is the signal that determines whether the current move represents genuine recovery or a derivatives-driven advance without the underlying demand structure to sustain it. Understanding which story the data ultimately supports is what separates a breakout from a headfake — and it is the question the CryptoQuant report is built to answer. Price Up. Spot Demand Flat. Futures Fighting the Move. This Is Not a Clean Breakout The CryptoQuant data identifies the specific tension beneath XRP’s advance with precision. Binance Perpetual CVD has dropped to approximately -$434 million — its lowest current reading — even as open interest on the same exchange continues climbing. Two metrics moving in opposite directions on the same venue confirm the central finding: perpetual futures traders are not riding the price recovery. They are selling into it, or at a minimum, positioning defensively against it. The spot market adds a second layer of concern. All CEX Estimated Spot CVD has declined to approximately $575 million despite XRP pushing above $1.46. If the move were being driven by genuine, broad-based spot accumulation, that number would be rising alongside the price. It is not — which weakens the case that real underlying demand is powering the advance. The leverage rebuild is not isolated to Binance. On May 11 alone, open interest increased by approximately $18 million on Binance, $10.4 million on OKX, and $8.5 million on Bybit — a combined $36.9 million added across three major venues in a single session. Derivatives participation is expanding across the ecosystem simultaneously. The structure that emerges from all three data points is specific and honest. Price is rising. Leverage is rebuilding. Spot demand is not following. That combination does not describe a bullish breakout — it describes a derivatives stress test, where the market is determining whether organic demand is strong enough to validate a move that futures positioning is currently fighting rather than supporting. Related Reading: Ethereum Cools Off Below $2,450 – Lower Leverage Sets The Stage For A Breakout XRP Holds Recovery Structure While Bulls Test Key Resistance XRP is trading around $1.44 after spending several weeks consolidating above the critical support zone that formed following February’s capitulation event. The chart shows a market attempting to transition from defensive stabilization into early recovery, but momentum remains constrained beneath a major resistance cluster. Technically, XRP has improved considerably from the February lows near $1.10. Buyers successfully reclaimed the 50-day moving average and pushed the price back into the $1.40–$1.50 region, which now functions as the most important short-term battleground. That area has repeatedly rejected upside attempts since March, showing that supply remains active whenever XRP approaches breakout territory. Related Reading: 14,600 Bitcoin Sold in Profit in One Day: Here Is How BTC’s Own Structure Broke It Below $80K At the same time, sellers have failed to force a meaningful breakdown despite multiple pullbacks. XRP continues printing higher lows from the April bottom, while the short-term moving average is beginning to flatten beneath price. That combination suggests bearish momentum is weakening gradually rather than accelerating. Volume also supports the consolidation narrative. Trading activity remains far below the panic-driven spikes seen during February’s collapse, indicating the market has moved out of forced liquidation conditions and into a more balanced environment. The broader structure still remains fragile while XRP trades below the 100-day and 200-day moving averages. However, if buyers reclaim and hold above the $1.50 region, the next upside target would likely emerge near $1.65–$1.70. Featured image from ChatGPT, chart from TradingView.com

XRP has been consolidating since early February, building a base that has tested the patience of bulls who have been waiting for a decisive move to higher levels. The market has reached a pivotal moment — and a CryptoQuant report identifies a structural split in the data that changes how we should interpret the current consolidation. Related Reading: Retail Is Cashing Out On Ethereum, But The Selloff Is Being Absorbed. Discover Who Is Buying The report reveals a divergence that cuts through the surface noise. XRP’s spot market and futures market are currently telling contradictory stories. Across centralized exchanges, spot buying has been strengthening continuously — the All CEX Estimated Spot CVD has risen from $1.08 billion on April 2 to $1.39 billion by April 24, a $310 million increase in real, underlying demand over three weeks. Actual coins are changing hands, and the buyers are winning the order flow. The futures market on Binance is pointing in the opposite direction. Perpetual traders have remained on the bearish side throughout this period. Maintaining net short positioning that creates the appearance of a market lacking conviction. The analysis argues that appearance is misleading. The futures weakness does not reflect an absence of real demand — it reflects a derivatives reset, a clearing of leveraged long excess that was accumulated during previous rallies. Beneath that reset, spot buyers have been quietly absorbing supply the entire time. The divergence is the signal. Which side of it proves correct is the question the next directional move will answer. The Futures Market Is Not Bearish. It Is Being Cleaned. The scale of the futures divergence gives the current setup its structural definition. While spot CVD has climbed $310 million to the positive side, Binance Perpetual CVD has moved in the opposite direction with almost identical force — dropping from -$65 million on March 19 to approximately -$392 million by April 24, a deepening of net selling pressure by roughly $327 million. Two forces of nearly equal magnitude are pulling in opposite directions simultaneously. The perpetual data requires careful interpretation. Futures net selling of this scale can mean one of two things: genuine bearish conviction from informed participants, or a mechanical clearing of excess leverage from a market that had accumulated too many crowded longs. The liquidation data since April 18 clarifies which is happening. Long liquidations have dominated XRP’s derivatives activity — forced exits from overleveraged positions rather than deliberate short-side bets against the asset. That distinction changes everything. Each long liquidation removes a fragile position from the market and replaces it with a more stable price structure. The fresh short positioning that followed is contributing to funding rates normalizing toward neutral, which is precisely what a healthy derivatives reset looks like before a market attempts to move higher. What the CryptoQuant report describes is not a market under sustained bearish assault. It is a market conducting the internal cleanup that typically precedes the next directional leg. Spot buyers are absorbing supply on one side. Derivatives are flushing excess leverage on the other. When both processes complete, the structure that remains tends to be considerably more durable than the one that existed before the reset began. Related Reading: DeFi Just Lost $15 Billion in Three Days. Something Deeper Than a Hack Is Behind It XRP Holds Range Support as Market Compresses Toward Decision Point XRP continues to consolidate around the $1.40 level, with price action reflecting a prolonged equilibrium following the sharp February breakdown. The chart shows a clear shift from trending behavior to range-bound structure, with XRP holding between roughly $1.30 support and $1.50 resistance for several weeks. This compression phase suggests that both buyers and sellers are absorbing liquidity without establishing directional control. The recent bounce from the $1.30–$1.35 zone is technically relevant. That area has acted as a consistent demand region, with multiple tests holding despite broader market volatility. The formation of slightly higher lows since mid-March indicates early accumulation, though not yet strong enough to break the broader downtrend. Related Reading: Another $142M Staked – Bitmine Tightens Its Grip on Ethereum Supply Overhead, resistance remains well-defined. The 50-day and 100-day moving averages are both trending downward and converging near the $1.50–$1.60 region, creating a dynamic ceiling that has rejected recent upside attempts. Until XRP reclaims this zone, the structure remains neutral-to-bearish on higher timeframes. Volume has declined throughout the consolidation, reinforcing the idea of a market waiting for a catalyst. A breakout above $1.50 would likely trigger expansion toward $1.70. Failure to hold $1.30, however, would expose XRP to a deeper retrace toward the $1.10 region. XRP is holding current levels. The market is volatile. And on Binance, two separate groups of participants have reached two completely opposite conclusions about where it goes next. Related Reading: $82 Million In Ethereum Just Left FalconX: Discover Who Is Behind It A CryptoQuant analysis tracking XRP’s market structure has identified a divergence that cuts directly beneath the surface of the current price action. Spot CVD on Binance has climbed to approximately $520.2 million — real capital, committed by real buyers, accumulating in the spot market while the broader environment remains uncertain. That number reflects sustained conviction from participants who are putting actual money behind XRP at current prices. Simultaneously, the Perpetual CVD on Binance sits at approximately -$261 million. The derivatives market is not neutral. It is actively defensive — leveraged traders positioned against the move, maintaining short exposure while the spot side builds beneath them. The result is a market held in place by opposing forces. Spot buyers are absorbing the sell pressure that derivatives traders are generating. The price is holding not because both sides agree on the direction, but because one side is strong enough to keep the other from winning — for now. That balance is not a permanent condition. It is a setup. One side is accumulating. The other is hedging against it. When the standoff resolves — and it will — the direction it breaks will be determined by which force exhausts first. Spot Is Doing the Work. Futures Is Watching. The analysis draws a distinction that changes how the current XRP support should be read. When a market holds because futures traders are aggressively long — leveraged, directional, conviction-driven — the support is loud and visible but fragile. A single adverse move triggers cascading liquidations, and the floor disappears as fast as it formed. Current data reveals a more durable structure—actual spot demand supports XRP as real buyers step in. This support carries weight because committed capital, not borrowed conviction, builds it. Related Reading: Ethereum Trading on Binance Has Gone Quiet, Discover What Happens When That Changes The limitation of that structure is equally honest. Spot demand without futures confirmation is support without amplification. The buyers are present. The force multiplier that converts support into a sustained directional move — leveraged positioning shifting from defensive to directional — has not arrived. The derivatives market is watching the spot buyers work without joining them. That gap defines the range of near-term outcomes precisely. If spot demand holds and derivatives positioning begins shifting toward neutral or positive, the setup graduates from supported to trending. If futures traders remain defensive while spot demand exhausts itself, the support loses its foundation without ever becoming a rally. The spot buyers have made their position clear. The next move belongs to the derivatives market. XRP Compression Signals Imminent Expansion Within a Bearish Structure XRP continues to trade in a compressed range near $1.32, but the broader structure remains decisively bearish. The daily chart shows price firmly below the 50, 100, and 200-day moving averages, all trending downward and stacked above current levels. This configuration reflects sustained selling pressure across all key timeframes. The February breakdown remains the defining event. XRP lost the $1.70–$1.80 region with expansion in volume, triggering a sharp move toward $1.20. That zone now acts as the lower boundary of the current range, while repeated attempts to push above $1.50 have failed, reinforcing it as near-term resistance. Related Reading: XRP Has Never Been This Quiet On Binance. Discover If The Silence Is A Warning or a Setup What is developing now is not recovery, but consolidation within a downtrend. Price action has become increasingly tight, with lower volatility and declining volume compared to the sell-off phase. That contraction typically precedes expansion, but direction remains unresolved. There is also a structural concern: each bounce is producing lower highs, indicating that buyers lack follow-through. The inability to reclaim even the 50-day moving average underscores weak demand. If XRP loses the $1.20 level, downside acceleration becomes likely due to limited support below. On the upside, reclaiming $1.50 is the first requirement, but a true structural shift would require acceptance above $1.70, where trend dynamics begin to change. XRP is trading below the $2.00 mark as the market drifts into a phase defined by apathy and uncertainty, with participation thinning and conviction on both sides fading. After a powerful rally earlier in the cycle, price action has cooled significantly, and recent attempts to regain momentum have failed to attract sustained follow-through. The current environment reflects a market that is no longer driven by aggressive speculation but instead is weighed down by caution and a lack of clear directional catalysts. Related Reading: Bitcoin Breaks Below $87K As Political Risk Spikes – Liquidations Reveal The Real Driver Top analyst Darkfost explains that the shift began in the derivatives market. After XRP open interest on Binance surged to a new all-time high of $1.76 billion on July 17, positioning became increasingly crowded. As price stalled and volatility picked up, that leverage started to unwind. The result was a sharp contraction in open interest, which unfolded alongside a major price correction. XRP fell from $3.55 to $1.83, a drawdown of nearly 50%, highlighting how tightly price and leverage were linked during the distribution phase. Declining moving averages compress the price, signaling persistent downside pressure and weak momentum. Most recently, Binance XRP open interest dropped below $500 million, a level that has persisted since the exceptional liquidation event on October 10. This sustained compression signals a market that has largely flushed excess leverage, but has yet to see renewed speculative interest—leaving XRP stuck below $2 and searching for a new equilibrium. Deleveraging Resets Market Structure After Liquidity Flush Overall, XRP open interest has fallen by nearly 60%, signaling a significant destruction of liquidity in the derivatives market, particularly following the October 10 (10/10) liquidation event. This contraction reflects a broad unwinding of leveraged positions rather than a sudden collapse in spot demand. As positions were forced out or closed voluntarily, the derivatives layer thinned substantially, leaving the market far less crowded than during the mid-2025 peak. It is also important to recognize the mechanical effect of price on open interest. As XRP’s price dropped, the notional value of outstanding futures contracts fell alongside it, naturally amplifying the contraction in OI. In other words, part of the drop reflects lower prices reducing leverage in dollar terms, not just traders exiting positions. Still, the scale of the decline points to a genuine reset in speculative activity. Stepping back, these deleveraging phases play a critical role in restoring healthier market conditions. They flush out excess leverage, reduce forced-selling risk, and shift control away from overextended short-term traders. Historically, such phases become visible when XRP open interest on Binance falls below its semi-annual average, as is the case now. Past cycles show that once leverage is rebuilt gradually—and participation returns without excessive crowding—price action often stabilizes first and recovers later. While this does not guarantee an immediate rally, the current cleanup phase reduces downside fragility and lays the groundwork for a more sustainable move if demand re-emerges. Related Reading: US Institutions Step Back From Ethereum: Coinbase Premium Flashes Caution XRP Price Action Details XRP is trading just below the $2.00 psychological level, hovering around $1.89. This is a zone that has repeatedly acted as short-term support over recent months. Declining moving averages compress the price, signaling persistent downside pressure and weak momentum. The 50-period moving average (blue) continues to slope downward and now acts as dynamic resistance near the $2.30–$2.40 region. Above it, the 100-period moving average (green) reinforces this resistance cluster, confirming that medium-term trend control remains with sellers. More importantly, XRP is now leaning on the 200-period moving average (red), which has flattened and is acting as a critical structural support around the $1.85–$1.90 range. Historically, sustained trading near the 200 MA often marks transition zones between continuation and broader trend failure. A clean break below this level would expose risk toward prior demand zones near $1.60–$1.70. Related Reading: Bitcoin Stuck In Bear Mode For 83 Days: Trend Pulse Confirms Structural Weakness Volume remains muted, suggesting market apathy rather than panic selling. This aligns with the broader derivatives deleveraging we’ve already observed, suggesting that the market has largely flushed out speculative pressure. For any meaningful recovery, XRP must reclaim the 50 MA and hold above $2.00. Until then, price action points to consolidation under resistance. The direction hinges on whether long-term support continues to hold or finally gives way. Featured image from ChatGPT, chart from TradingView.com

XRP has slipped below the $2 level, a psychologically important threshold, as broader market conditions continue to deteriorate and selling pressure weighs on risk assets. While Bitcoin dominates liquidity and investor attention, altcoins are struggling to attract sustained demand, and XRP is increasingly reflecting this imbalance. Related Reading: Why Bitcoin’s Quiet Price Action May Be ‘Dangerous’ – IFP Signals Rising Structural Risk According to a CryptoQuant report by Darkfost, the weakness in XRP is not an isolated event but part of a broader contraction across the altcoin market. Whether on spot markets or in derivatives, trading activity has been shrinking significantly over recent months. Liquidity is gradually drying up, signaling a clear retreat from speculative positioning as investors reduce exposure to higher-risk assets. This trend is especially visible in XRP’s derivatives data. The Taker Buy Volume on Binance, which tracks aggressive buy orders in futures markets, has collapsed to its lowest levels of the year. After peaking above $5.8 billion in July, this metric has fallen to roughly $250 million, representing a sharp 95.7% decline. Such a dramatic contraction highlights the near-total evaporation of buying pressure and underscores the lack of conviction among traders. XRP Liquidity Compression Signals Downside Risk According to Darkfost, the broader market context is a major factor amplifying XRP’s current weakness. Liquidations have been accumulating across crypto markets, confidence remains fragile, and many participants are still psychologically impacted by the October 10 event. This lingering stress has reduced risk tolerance, particularly among short-term traders who typically provide liquidity during corrective phases. Beyond sentiment, altcoins are facing a clear structural headwind. Bitcoin continues to absorb the majority of available capital, both in spot and derivatives markets. As BTC dominance remains elevated, liquidity that would normally rotate into altcoins during recoveries is instead staying concentrated in Bitcoin. This leaves very limited room for a sustained rebound across the broader altcoin market, including XRP. Related Reading: Market Stress Continues As Bitcoin STH SOPR Dips Below 1– When Will The Pain End? Within this environment, the sharp collapse in XRP’s Taker Buy Volume is not surprising. The signal becomes even more relevant given that it is unfolding on Binance, which still accounts for the largest share of global XRP trading activity. A sustained drop in aggressive buying on the dominant exchange highlights the depth of demand erosion. At the same time, the Taker Buy Sell Ratio has remained negative for most of the period, confirming that sellers continue to dominate XRP’s derivatives market. Historically, such severe volume compression can precede volatility expansions. However, in the current setup, the lack of meaningful buying pressure and persistent bearish positioning suggests downside risks remain elevated. Even ETF-related optimism has failed to offset these structural weaknesses. XRP Price Struggles Below Key Moving Averages XRP price action on the 3-day chart reflects a clear loss of bullish structure and growing downside pressure. After peaking above the $3.40–$3.60 zone earlier in the year, XRP has formed a sequence of lower highs and lower lows, confirming a medium-term downtrend. The recent breakdown below the psychological $2.00 level is particularly significant, as this zone previously acted as both support and consolidation. From a technical perspective, XRP is now trading below its 50-day and 100-day moving averages, both of which have started to slope downward. This alignment reinforces bearish momentum and suggests that rallies are being sold rather than accumulated. The 200-day moving average, currently near the $1.70–$1.80 area, represents the next major structural support. A sustained move toward this level would not be surprising if selling pressure persists. Related Reading: Bitcoin Whales Refuse to Sell: Historic Signal Emerges As Binance CDD Drops To 2017 Levels Volume dynamics further confirm weakness. Since the August high, volume has steadily declined, indicating fading participation and weak dip-buying interest. The sharp volatility spike in October was followed by distribution rather than continuation, often a sign of a local market top. As long as XRP remains below $2.00 and fails to reclaim the declining moving averages, the path of least resistance remains to the downside. For any meaningful trend reversal, XRP would need to regain $2.30–$2.50 with expanding volume, signaling renewed demand rather than short-term relief rallies. XRP Open Interest (OI) has surged to a new all-time high, surpassing $10 billion across major crypto exchanges. This jump in futures activity comes as the XRP price climbs toward $3.48, its highest level in years. Historically, rising Open Interest has often coincided with significant price rallies, suggesting the potential for further upside in XRP’s trajectory.   XRP Open Interest Records New ATH Reports from Coinglass have revealed that the total Open Interest in XRP futures has climbed to a fresh ATH of $10.49 billion, reflecting a sharp increase in trading activity and capital inflows into the derivatives market. Notably, the Open Interest broke ATH targets after it exceeded the $9 billion mark, with trading activity continuing to accelerate, according to a recent X post by crypto analyst Captain Redbeard.  Related Reading: XRP Open Interest Explodes To January ATH Levels, Will Price Follow Above $3? Coinglass chart data from July 18, 2025, shows that XRP is currently trading at approximately $3.5, marking a significant recovery from its prolonged consolidation period just above $2 in recent months. The spike in Open Interest is reportedly driven by some of the top crypto exchanges, with Bitget leading with $2.21 billion, followed by Binance at $1.83 billion, Gate at $1.69 billion, Bybit at $1.53 billion, and other platforms contributing to the overall increase. Binance, the dominant player in XRP futures, has seen its Open Interest vault from around $544.4 million on March 11, 2025, to nearly $2 billion in just four months. This reflects a broader trend where major exchanges, including Bitmex, Coinbase, OKX, and Hyperliquid, witness multiple hundred-million-dollar positions being opened by traders betting on XRP’s next move.  The correlation between Open Interest and price action often serves as a crucial signal in the derivatives market. Usually, when OI climbs alongside price, it suggests strong bullish momentum backed by real capital. Conversely, a surge in OI without a corresponding price increase can raise concerns over potential leverage traps or looming liquidations. In the case of XRP, both Open Interest and price appear to be rising, indicating sustained market confidence and the possibility of an even stronger uptrend. XRP Eyes Three Bullish Targets In 2025 The XRP price is eyeing higher levels this bull cycle, as crypto analyst Armando Pantoja has forecasted three upside targets for the altcoin in 2025. XRP has gained significant momentum over the past several days, posting a sharp 24% rally since last week as bullish sentiment returns to the broader crypto market. With Bitcoin holding above $100K and Ethereum reclaiming the $2,200 mark, altcoins like XRP are beginning to show strength after months of subdued performance. Analysts are now calling for a potential breakout, emphasizing the importance of XRP reclaiming key resistance levels in the coming days to confirm a sustained move higher. Related Reading: Ethereum Recovery Gains Strength: Massive Comeback Above Key Support Fueling this optimism is new data from Glassnode revealing a dramatic surge in XRP Futures Open Interest. The metric has climbed over $1 billion in just one week, rising from $2.42 billion to $3.42 billion—a 41.6% increase. This spike suggests a growing wave of speculative interest and directional conviction among traders. As leverage builds, all eyes are on XRP’s next move to determine whether this momentum can evolve into a full-blown rally. The rise in open interest alongside price appreciation often points to sustained bullish intent, adding weight to calls for a continued surge. With volatility returning to the altcoin market, XRP could be gearing up for one of its most critical breakouts in months. XRP Leads With Strong Momentum And Rising Leverage XRP is emerging as one of the strongest performers in the market, displaying remarkable resilience during recent downtrends and now showing clear strength in the current bullish environment. After consolidating through volatile conditions, XRP has surged above the $2.50 level, firmly positioning itself as a leader among large-cap altcoins. The price action remains tight, with bulls continuing to test the $2.60 zone while bears are unable to push the price below the new support levels formed near $2.35. This price compression, combined with broader market optimism, suggests that XRP may be gearing up for a major move. With Bitcoin consolidating near its all-time highs and Ethereum testing crucial resistance zones, analysts are paying close attention to XRP’s trajectory. The altcoin market is heating up, and XRP’s technical structure hints at a bullish expansion phase if current levels are maintained or reclaimed with volume. Supporting this bullish outlook is recent data from Glassnode, showing that XRP Futures Open Interest has soared by over $1 billion in the past week. It jumped from $2.42 billion to $3.42 billion—a 41.6% increase—coinciding with a price rally from $2.14 to $2.48. This surge in leverage underscores growing speculative interest and strong directional conviction among traders. Elevated open interest, particularly when paired with upward price movement, often signals sustained momentum and institutional participation. With XRP firmly above key support and showing signs of renewed investor confidence, the next few sessions could be pivotal for determining whether XRP will finally break out into a new macro trend. This alignment of moving averages below the current price reinforces the bullish structure. Over the past two weeks, XRP has surged more than 24%, confirming higher lows and higher highs in the process. After briefly stalling at $2.60, the price is now consolidating with low volatility just below that level—indicating potential for another breakout if buying pressure resumes. Volume also picked up significantly during the initial leg of this move, signaling strong interest from market participants. The XRP price rallied again to $2.22 after a relief rally rocked Bitcoin and the crypto market. This is akin to the Bitcoin futures launched back in October 2021, setting the stage for the approval of Spot Bitcoin ETFs later in January 2024. The exchange revealed that it plans to launch the very first XRP futures contract on May 19th if the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) gives its approval. This news has been positively received in the XRP community, with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse calling it “an incredibly important and exciting step in the continued growth of the XRP market.” Additionally, the XRP price jumped above $2.2 in response to the news.
