Quantum computing has long served as Bitcoin’s most cinematic threat. It has the right ingredients for a high-drama warning, strange machines, broken cryptography, and the possibility of a future rewrite of digital trust. Bitcoin has spent much of 2026 moving between recovery attempts and macro shocks, yet one part of the market has kept moving in a single direction. Large holders have been buying. Previous bear markets left scars that are hard to ignore. The 2017 crash wiped out more than 80% of Bitcoin’s value. The 2021 collapse took nearly 77%. So when a fresh wave of analysts began calling for a drop to $50,000, the warnings carried weight — at least on paper. Related Reading: TRUMP Buying Frenzy Builds Ahead Of Mar-A-Lago Power Event A Different Kind Of Cycle Nick Ruck, director of LVRG Research, said the $50,000 level was being eyed as the last major buying opportunity before any real recovery could take hold. A drop to that price, he said, would represent a “healthy cycle reset” given the pressure from broader economic forces and weak movement of capital into crypto. But Ruck also raised a point that separates this downturn from past ones: Bitcoin is already down roughly 40% from its record high, and this time around, large institutions are involved in ways they simply weren’t before. That changes the math. Prior crashes were driven mostly by retail traders — ordinary people buying and panic-selling. Institutional money behaves differently, and consistent buying pressure from that side of the market may be putting a floor under prices that didn’t exist in earlier cycles. “There is a chance this cycle might not reach an idealized 60% drawdown,” Ruck said, pointing to what he called a distinctively macro-structured market environment. Bitcoin: the big flush… I don’t think we’ve had it yet I don’t think $60,000 was the bottom You can pray for it of course ???? but it won’t help Trend is still down The few % bounces are tiny if you zoom out I will reconsider this stance in case bull strength returns It’s just… — Ivan on Tech ???????????? Head Trader @ Bullmania (@IvanOnTech) April 13, 2026 Trader and author Ivan Liljeqvist posted to X that Bitcoin had yet to experience what he called “the big flush.” He said he didn’t believe $60,000 marked the bottom, and that the overall trend remained pointed downward. The small bounces seen along the way, he argued, looked minor against the bigger price picture. Analyst Merlijn Enkelaar echoed that view, suggesting Bitcoin was entering a second bear phase that could push prices to $50,000 before any wider distribution of gains takes place. THREE PHASES. BITCOIN ABOUT TO ENTERTHE SECOND. Accumulation: done. Manipulation: loading. Distribution: $150K. Pending. $70K is the decision. Hold it: manipulation is short. Lose it: $50K first. A temporary ceasefire between the US and Iran sent Bitcoin briefly above $75,000 — the kind of jump that happens when fear lifts, even for a moment. US President Donald Trump announced the two-week pause in hostilities, and markets responded quickly. But the relief didn’t last. Peace talks broke down over the weekend, and by Monday Bitcoin had slipped back below $71,000 after Trump ordered a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Rising consumer prices, reported in Friday’s CPI data, added further weight. Bitcoin’s all-time high stands at $126,198, set in October 2025. At current prices around $72,500 to $74,600, that puts the drawdown at roughly 40% to 44% — deep, but still well short of the 60% collapse that some models suggest a full bear market requires. Long-term Bitcoin holders are selling at a loss — and the numbers show it’s becoming a pattern, not an anomaly. Related Reading: Bitcoin Stumbles Hard: The Worst Q1 In Years Raises Big Questions US Buyers Stay On The Sidelines Bitcoin’s Coinbase Premium Index has stayed negative in recent weeks, a sign that American investors have largely pulled back from the market. According to CryptoQuant, the gap between BTC pricing on Coinbase and Binance reflects a broader reluctance among US buyers to step back in at current levels. That hesitation is showing up across multiple data points, from exchange flows to investment product performance. Global Bitcoin investment funds recorded more than $190 million in net outflows during the week ending March 27. Spot Bitcoin ETFs, which drew heavy institutional interest during their launch period, are now sitting below water for many of their holders. Data shows the average cost basis for US spot Bitcoin ETF investors sits at $83,400 — well above where the price is trading today. Bitcoin was changing hands at around $66,820 when this report was made, roughly 47% below its all-time high of $126,000, which was set in October 2025. The price is also 24% below its yearly open of $87,600, after BTC closed 2025 in the red. Nearly 9 Million BTC Held At A Loss Close to 9 million Bitcoin — more than 40% of the total circulating supply — are currently held by investors who paid more than the current price, according to on-chain data from Glassnode. The combined unrealized loss on that supply comes to roughly $598 billion. Glassnode drew a comparison to conditions last seen in the second quarter of 2022, one of Bitcoin’s most painful stretches in recent memory. Back then, around 3 million BTC had to change hands before the market found its footing again. Based on reports from Glassnode’s latest Week On-chain newsletter, resolving a supply overhang of this size has historically meant coins moving from sellers taking losses to new buyers willing to enter at lower prices. Demand, for now, is not keeping up. Capriole Investments’ Bitcoin Apparent Demand metric logged a reading of -1,623 BTC on Thursday. That figure has stayed negative since mid-December 2025. CryptoQuant described the situation as broad market distribution, driven by continued selling from retail participants. Joao Wedson, popular market analyst and founder of analytics platform Alphractal, has shared a cautionary insight on the Bitcoin market involving potential developments with the Binance exchange reserves. Related Reading: Bitcoin Faces Familiar Crossroads As Midterm Cycle Turns Bearish: Analyst Binance BTC Reserves In Danger – Possible Deep Bear Market?  The Bitcoin market has remained in a bear phase for the last six months, marked by geopolitical tensions and macro uncertainties. During this time, the premier cryptocurrency has struggled to establish any sustained uptrend while constantly absorbing waves of corrective price action. In the most recent wave, Bitcoin prices returned to around $65,000, resulting in a net loss of 5.14% in the last seven days. Since then, the market has experienced a small range consolidation and presently trades around $66,000.   According to Joao Wedson, this recent decline brings Bitcoin closer to a key support level, i.e., Binance Reserve Realized Price, which represents the average cost basis of BTC coins held on the exchange. Notably, this metric presently stands at $60,490, which is a mere 9% from present price levels. A drop below this threshold would push a significant portion of Binance-held supply into unrealized losses, potentially weakening market sentiment and increasing the risk of sell pressure, especially given Binance’s position as the world’s largest crypto exchange. Wedson notes the postulated situation had occurred in the 2022 bear market, during which the exchange’s reserve held unrealized losses for months. General historical trend recognizes Binance Reserve Realized price as a key support level, loss of which would expose the bear market to lower price levels and deepen broader losses. In this case, the initial support target is at $54,000, which represents the general realized price level. However, significant chances of lower levels remain as Bitcoin has previously experienced bear market corrections ranging between 70%-80% from the cycle peak. For context, present levels are only 52% away from the current all-time high at $126,100. Related Reading: Binance Users Register Record Gold Futures Trading Activity – What This Means Bitcoin Price Overview At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $66,681, posting a modest 1.01% gain over the past 24 hours, though still down 1.2% on the monthly timeframe. Looking ahead, Coincodex analysts’ projections point to a potential upside, with forecasts placing BTC at $74,187 within the next five days and around $72,426 over the next one. Santiment data shows that bearish sentiment language is flooding social media at peak levels. However, this might actually be a good thing for smart bullish investors, as the sentiment data proposes that what retail traders are saying may be setting up the opposite move in price. Social Media Fear Shows Fading Bullish Language Data from Santiment’s social dominance tracking tool shows a vivid rise in bearish language dominating Bitcoin-related discussions on social media platforms. Terms like “crash,” “dip,” “pullback,” and “bloodbath” are now appearing more frequently across social platforms, and this is a direct reflection of the fear among retail participants. Santiment’s social dominance tracking tool monitors the balance between bullish and bearish language across crypto-related social media in real time.  Related Reading: XRP Futures Market Keeps Resetting As Whales Accumulate Amid Mixed Signals At the same time, optimistic phrases tied to rallies, such as “buy,” “accumulation,” or “mooning,” have faded into the background. As bearish as this may sound, history shows that this imbalance between fear and greed has always been associated with turning points for crypto prices. As of late March 2026, Santiment’s chart shows that fearful language is once again heating up, with the metric flagging the current moment as a zone comparable to prior “Buy” signals marked throughout the past 13 months.  Each of those prior signals, which are shown in the chart image below and visible across February, April, August, October, and November 2025, preceded meaningful upside moves in Bitcoin’s price action. On the other hand, every major Santiment-marked “Sell” signal where bullish language peaked corresponded with local price tops. The most prominent of these occurred in late November 2025 and again in mid-January 2026, both of which were followed by price crashes. Crypto Sentiment On Social Media. Source: Santiment On X Bitcoin Network Activity Tells A More Complicated Story Price alone, however, may not be enough to confirm a durable bottom. CryptoQuant data on Bitcoin active addresses introduces an important caveat: network participation has declined by more than 30% from its August 2025 peak. During the height of Bitcoin’s bull run in August 2025, active addresses reached 938,609 on a single day, with the 30-day moving average sitting above 743,000. However, daily active addresses have fallen to 655,908 in late March, with the 7-day moving average now around 613,000 and the 30-day average at 636,000.  Bitcoin Active Addresses. Source: CryptoQuant This cooling in activity means that fewer participants are actively transacting on the Bitcoin blockchain network. This is another reflection of the lack of bullish price action, lack of investor engagement, and a prolonged consolidation phase. Related Reading: UK Slaps Sanctions On $20B Crypto Black Market Tied To Southeast Asia Scam Rings According to a crypto analyst on the CryptoQuant platform, a price recovery alone may not be enough to validate a convincing structural recovery. #crypto #cardano #altcoin #ada #bear market #adausd

Cardano has been stuck below 30 cents for weeks, and its ranking among global cryptocurrencies has slipped to 12th place. Against that backdrop, a trader is now arguing the coin could still reach $2 — and sooner than most people think. Related Reading: Ethereum Sets User Record As Price Lags Far Behind Network Growth The Math Behind The Claim The argument comes from Yesreel, a crypto trader with six years of experience, who posted the projection on social media. Based on his analysis, ADA would only need to string together five to six days of 40–50% daily gains to close the gap between its current price and the $2 target. At roughly $0.25 right now, that gap works out to about 695%. The calculation itself holds up. Compounding works fast when daily percentage gains are that large. A 40% jump per day for six straight days gets ADA to $2. A 50% daily gain does the same in five. The math is real. Whether those gains can happen is a different question. $ADA can go to $2 faster than you think It only needs a few consecutive days with 40%-50% pumps???? It has happened before, it can happen again. — Yesreel (@Yesreel_) March 26, 2026 Yesreel says history gives reason to believe they can. Cardano hit an all-time high of $3.10 back in 2021, and it got there fast. Between August 2 and September 2 of that year, the token climbed from $1.32 to that peak — a gain of 134% in a single month. More recently, following the US presidential election in November 2024, ADA surged over 160% in just 15 days, jumping from around 32 cents on November 5 to 84 cents by November 20. Past Rallies Give Bulls Something To Point To Those two episodes are the backbone of the bullish case. Both showed that Cardano can move sharply and quickly when market conditions fall into place. Broad investor demand, a rising tide across the crypto market, and heavy capital inflows were the common thread in each case. The current picture looks different. Crypto markets have been weighed down by macroeconomic pressure and geopolitical tensions, and ADA has felt that drag more than most. The token has spent much of the past several weeks trading below 30 cents with little momentum to show for it. Related Reading: UK Slaps Sanctions On $20B Crypto Black Market Tied To Southeast Asia Scam Rings Current Conditions Still Pose A Challenge No sustained breakout has materialized yet, and investor confidence in a near-term recovery remains shaky. Bearish pressure has been steady, and ADA’s slide to 12th in global crypto rankings reflects how much ground it has lost relative to other assets. Yesreel has not offered a specific timeline or a trigger event that would kick off the kind of run he is describing. His projection rests on the idea that when the right conditions align — rising sentiment, strong inflows, momentum feeding on itself — ADA has shown it can compress months of gains into days. Whether those conditions arrive anytime soon is something no one can say with certainty. Featured image from Unsplash, chart from TradingView

Investor sentiment in the crypto market sits at its lowest point in months — and the biggest Bitcoin holders are treating it like a buying window. Retail Sellers, Whale Buyers While everyday investors have been stepping back, wallets holding between 10 and 10,000 Bitcoin added roughly 61,568 coins over the past 30 days, according to data from market analytics firm Santiment. Related Reading: Over $6B: XAUT Futures Volume Rewrites Records On Binance That 0.45% increase in holdings came even as geopolitical tensions flared and broader financial markets turned choppy. At the same time, the smallest wallets — those holding under 0.01 BTC — also added coins, picking up around 213 Bitcoin, a 0.42% rise. The two groups moved in the same direction, but for different reasons, analysts say. ???????? Despite dipping to $68.1K today, Bitcoin’s key stakeholders are accumulating. Whales and sharks with 10-10K $BTC have accumulated 61,568 BTC (+0.45%) in the past month, which is a promising sign of an eventual breakout from this range. ???? Besides the current macroeconomic… pic.twitter.com/YDbRYNYH85 — Santiment (@santimentfeed) March 26, 2026 Dominick John, an analyst at Zeus Research, said that large holders are quietly stacking during flat-price periods, not reacting to daily headlines. Small wallet holders, he said, are driven by something else entirely — fear of missing out when prices tick upward. “Small wallets are chasing the momentum,” John said, adding that if retail buying overheats, a brief sell-off before the next accumulation wave is possible. A Pattern Analysts Have Seen Before Santiment analysts pointed to a longer historical pattern: when large wallets accumulate while smaller holders are selling, it has often preceded the start of a sustained price rise. The firm called the current behavior a “promising sign” that a breakout from the months-long trading range could be ahead — and that the direction of that breakout is more likely to be up than down. Bitcoin exchange outflows have also been steady throughout March, data shows. Coins leaving exchanges typically signal holders are moving assets into cold storage, a sign they plan to hold rather than sell in the short term. Not every major holder has been buying, though. On March 19, two Bitcoin whales moved tens of millions of dollars worth of coins onto exchanges — a move that often precedes a sale. That day, Bitcoin prices dropped as attacks on Gulf oil and gas infrastructure pushed energy prices higher and rattled markets tied to the Iran conflict. Related Reading: Iran Rejects Peace Talk Claims, Leaving Bitcoin Stuck At $70K Extreme Fear Grips The Market The Crypto Fear & Greed Index recorded a score of 10 on Thursday and 13 on Friday. Both readings fall firmly in “extreme fear” territory. The entire month of February and the week prior both averaged the same. A score of zero represents maximum fear; 100 represents peak greed. That kind of prolonged fear reading is unusual. It reflects a market where uncertainty has settled in — not as a spike, but as a sustained mood. Middle East tensions have been a key driver. US and Israeli strikes against Iran in February triggered a wave of retaliations across the region, and the conflict has continued to weigh on global markets since. A price zone that held as a floor throughout all of 2025 is now blocking XRP from recovering. The $1.80 level — once a reliable support — flipped to resistance in January 2026, and the token has not come close to reclaiming it since. Until it does, one analyst says XRP remains “in deep trouble.” Related Reading: Bitcoin Stalls Near $75K As Traders Move Coins To Exchanges A Channel Break That Changed Everything For most of last year, XRP traded inside a large parallel channel with a ceiling near $3.45 and a floor around $1.80. The token stayed within those boundaries even as its price started slipping after hitting an all-time high of $3.60 in July 2025. Lower highs and lower lows piled up through the fourth quarter, but $1.80 held. Then January came. XRP closed the month below that level for the first time, and it has not looked back. The $1.80 floor became a ceiling, and every attempt to push higher has run into that wall. If I zoom out, I still see $XRP in deep trouble. It is clearly downtrending with a series of lower lows and lower highs, and above all, it is still below that key level at $1.80. As long as we don’t break this downtrend, we could expect that “no support zone” to be filled. pic.twitter.com/mNuF8O8LWo — Sjuul | AltCryptoGems (@AltCryptoGems) March 18, 2026 Analyst Sjuul of the AltCryptoGems channel laid out the situation in a recent market breakdown. Zooming out to the daily chart, he pointed to the pattern of lower lows and lower highs that has defined XRP’s price action since the July peak — a structure that leaves the broader downtrend fully intact regardless of short-term bounces. A 15% Rally That Still Went Nowhere XRP did manage a stretch of gains between March 9 and 16 — seven up days out of eight, its best run since September 2025. The token climbed 15% during that window, reclaiming $1.50 and closing at $1.54 on March 16. But the rally stalled almost immediately. A push toward $1.60 ran into resistance at $1.6074 earlier this week, and XRP has since pulled back on three consecutive days, now trading around $1.46. The recovery, impressive as it briefly looked, never came anywhere near $1.80. For context, XRP had dropped to $1.27 on February 28 during the initial market reaction to the Israel-Iran conflict before clawing back above $1.50. The March rally was largely a rebound from that low — not a trend reversal. Related Reading: Ripple’s $500M Raise And Institutional Ties Keep XRP Firmly In Place Two Scenarios, One Number Sjuul sees the path forward as straightforward. XRP either reclaims $1.80 and pushes back inside the parallel channel — invalidating the bearish setup — or it doesn’t, and the downside risk grows sharply. The level he flags on the downside is the $1.20 to $1.30 zone. That area offered no resistance during XRP’s explosive November 2024 rally, which is what analysts call a “no support zone” — a price range the market blew through so fast that few buyers established positions there. Since that rally, the zone has acted as a cushion during dips. If $1.80 continues to hold as resistance, Sjuul suggests XRP could fall back toward that range.
